Huge congratulations to Year 3 and 4 on two outstanding performances in The McCarthy Theatre last weekend. Such confidence and enthusiasm on show for Performing Arts from our children! Thank you to the staff who made this such a great performance and whose who attended.

Reception have been making Easter chocolate crispy buns. They enjoyed mixing all the ingredients and adding a little chick to the top. They tasted really good!

Reception and Lower School thoroughly enjoyed taking part in Wild Workshops this term. They carefully explored earth from the woodland floor and found snails, slugs, woodlice, millipedes and centipedes which they looked at closely through magnifying equipment. They learnt how sharp a fox's teeth are and enjoyed seeing lots of close up images of skulls and bones via the digital microscope. They learnt all about toads, and many children were brave enough to hold some five week oldmice!

Year 2 have been measuring in centimetres and metres this week and comparing the length of objects.

On St Patricks Day this term, Year 2 told us all about the work of St Patrick and explained why 17th March is such an important event for Irish peoplearoundthe world.

Year 3 enjoyed presenting their science posters on the theme of 'Time' to their friends. The children had interpreted the theme in so many different ways. Well done,Year3!

In their Earth Art lesson, Year 2 took their learning outside to make stick sculptures using plasticine, sticks andwool.

This term we held our annual Year 3 and 4 House Netball event, with results as follows: 1st Ingleborough, 2nd Buckden Pike, 3rd ghent. Well done to all who

Inhumanities, Year5 havebeen comparingtheway in which children spend their leisure time in Victorian times compared to today. The children had fun playing a variety of traditional Victorian parlour games including: 'Twenty Questions', Hiddenin PlainSight','Forfeits' and'Squeal Piggy’.

In their humanities lessons, Year 6 have been learning about floodplains. This week, they became town planners. They had to put a presentation together to persuade the Chief of the Flood Management committee to let them build a small town on a floodplain. They had to put forward their proposals and talk about the flood management strategies thatthey woulduse.

Our Year6 childrenenjoyeda visitfromtheGrove’s Modern Foreign Languages Roadshow this week. Led by 6th Form students, the children had the opportunity to play a variety of games to reinforce their workinFrench.

Our Year 6 Neurodivesity Ambassadors led an assembly last week on what it means to be neurodiverse. Here at Brontë House, we celebrate our unique strengths and differences and we are kind,tolerantandacceptingof others.

To conclude this half term’s Co-curricular Knitwits Club, our talented team have completed their knitted chicks and bunnies in good time for Easter. Mrs O’Grady has also supplied a Cream Egg to rewardtheir efforts!

The Brontë swim team have enjoyed a fantastic season! Their dedication and commitment in training is a credit to them and their team spirit is a true reflection of our Grovian values. They have had a busy schedule competing in 10 extremely competitive galas and we are delighted to say they are undefeated! Our huge congratulations to all swimmers;wearevery proud. Seephoto above. We are delighted to share with you that works on the new Reception have begun. Over the Easter holidays a designated washroom facility is being built for the new Reception area. The outdoor playground is being fitted in August, some of which is being funded by our fantastic parents association such as play huts and mud kitchens!
