Senior formals feat. yr 9 and 10s By Idamali Wickham One of Woodford’s biggest event of the year took place in the Mendana Hotel venue where the senior formals were hosted! With the theme ‘Midnight Masquerade’, the students who attended all came dressed up in absolutely stunning outfits in various colors of the scheme - red, blue, black, green, gold, silver - they all came out beautifully. Year 12s

The night was filled with laughter and excitement as they played games, some performed songs (Mr Randy wowed with a song in Mandarin), ate and drank (obviously not alcohol). There were also plenty of awards won for silly things like being the Bossiest Person. After dinner everyone hit the dance floor. Mr Dan showed off his fabulous dance moves in his island shirt and shorts! Of course the night would not be complete with the crowning of the

Formal’s King and Queen, congratulations to Fernando and Beatrice. Although it was only meant for the senior students (year 11 and 12) they were kind enough to convince our principal to allow the year 9s and 10s. Four hours of celebrating without a care everyone enjoyed their time at the 2023 WIS Senior Formal. It was a great sendoff for the 2023 Year 12s and for students who will be leaving at the end of the academic year. Finally a big shout out to the Year 11s (and teachers) who organised and set up the event. Job Well Done!

Halloween By LangYing Zhu Halloween, short for "All Hallows' Eve," is a popular holiday celebrated on the evening of October 31st. It is mostly celebrated in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. Many traditions such as putting spooky decorations up, carving pumpkin Jack-o’-lanterns, dressing up in costumes and trick or treating are some of the activities and traditions done throughout Halloween. Halloween is known for its playful, spooky, and sometimes eerie atmosphere, and it's a time for people to have fun, be creative, and enjoy the festivities. While it has its origins in religious and cultural traditions, it has evolved into a secular and widely celebrated holiday with a focus on costumes, candy, and community gatherings.

Year 6 cooking competition! By Anonymous One of the recent events that took place a short while ago was the year 6 cooking comp! For their life skills they were assigned to go home and prepare meals for a few of the teachers who were acting as their judges to taste. Although it is a great learning experience for them to participate in such activities, it would have been an even better experience for everyone if they cleaned up their mess afterwards so the class wouldn’t have a bad stench for the next group of students to suffer in.
