Dear Friends,
Welcome to Womanspace’s 28th Annual Awards Dinner!
Thank you for joining us tonight as we celebrate the accomplishments of Womanspace and honor the remarkable individuals and organizations that have made a difference in the lives of those we serve. Raise your glasses with us as we toast to the progress we’ve made together, and the bright future ahead. With your unwavering support, we expanded our reach, forged powerful partnerships, and stood stronger within our community.
Together, we served over 11,000 individuals, offering vital assistance to victim-survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Yet, our journey continues. At Womanspace, we’re committed to extending our hand to all who need it, breaking down barriers of stigma and fear.
So let’s raise our glasses once more, not just in celebration, but in solidarity. Here’s to a future where every individual feels safe, supported, and empowered. Thank you for being an essential part of this journey.
Nathalie S. Nelson President & CEO Womanspace, Inc.

The Womanspace Award for Outstanding Community Partner
Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman will be honored with the prestigious Barbara Boggs Sigmund Award. Her groundbreaking achievements as the first African American woman to represent New Jersey in Congress have set a powerful precedent for advocacy and change. In graciously accepting this honor, Congresswoman Watson Coleman remarked, “I am honored and humbled to receive the Barbara Boggs Sigmund Award. Barbara and my father served together on the Mercer County Board of Freeholders. When she and my mother had cancer, Barbara would come comfort my mother. To receive an award previously granted to such esteemed peers as Cokie Roberts, Diane Sawyer, and C. Vivian Stringer is a high honor. I thank Womanspace for the work that they’ve done and for recognizing the efforts of men and women who have worked so hard to advance the work of those fighting to end violence against women and create a safer and more peaceful world.”
Anne Mavis will be honored with the Edwin Schmierer Volunteer Award for her remarkable contributions as a Womanspace Response Team Advocate. Anne’s steadfast dedication and compassionate support have transformed countless lives, empowering individuals to overcome adversity and embrace their full potential. Reflecting on her role, Anne shared, “Being a Womanspace Response Team Advocate is one of the most rewarding and uplifting experiences I‘ve ever had. To be in the presence of a person who is stepping into their empowerment, seeing them realize they don’t have to live that way, and to realize what is possible because of Womanspace is an honor and a privilege for me to participate with.”
Isles, Inc. will be honored with the Womanspace Community Partner Award in recognition of their longstanding commitment to empowering families through financial coaching services. Isles CEO Sean Jackson expressed their gratitude, stating, “For more than a decade, Womanspace has been a like-minded partner for Isles, focusing on helping people and families establish and maintain their stability while also empowering them to chart their own paths. We’ve been proud to provide vital financial coaching services to Womanspace clients in Barbara’s House and are excited to expand our partnership with our new job training services. We’re grateful for the recognition this award brings and are eager to grow and expand our work together in the years ahead.”
