A Look at Dentist CE Requirements
The following is a check-off list for 2022 CE requirements:
Advertisement
n Three hours pain management.
n Three hours of implicit bias training (in-person or live webinar). Effective for all license renewals after June 1, 2022.
n One hour in dental ethics and jurisprudence with inclusion of delegation of duties to allied dental personnel.

AFTER April 26, 2022.
n One hour in infection control, which must include sterilization of hand pieces, personal protective equipment, and the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention’s infection control guidelines.

n A one-time, one-hour course in human trafficking recognition
n CPR: In addition to CE credits, dentists must also always carry a current Basic Life
Support CPR card.
n Opioid Training: The state of Michigan also requires a one-time training in opioid awareness to renew your state-controlled substance license.
