WKU Provost Bud Fischer announced via email on Tuesday the implementation of a new accreditation framework for all WKU classes.
The new framework, the Kentucky Graduate Profile (KGP), was created by the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education (CPE). CPE oversees and monitors academic quality, affordability and student success in all postsecondary institutions in Kentucky, its website states.
WKU Student Government Association is aiming to allow easier access for student inquiries.
In one of two bills passed at SGA’s weekly meeting on Tuesday, the association will replace the current Hilltoppers’ concern form, which is buried behind five different links on WKU’s website homepage. The author of the bill, Jakob Barker, has plans to make the form a pop-up on the website, with the hope of making it easier to find.
National Book Award-winning poet Nikky Finney will host a poetry reading and book signing in room 1074 of Gary Ransdell Hall on Wednesday.
The event will last approximately an hour, said Associate Professor of English Marla Zubel, who is helping to organize the event. Zubel said the first 40 minutes will be a poetry reading, followed by a book signing and an audience Q&A.
