SOKY Indivisible hosts candlelight vigil for victims of ICE

More than 50 demonstrators held a candlelight vigil for victims of Immigration and Customs Enforcement on Monday evening at ICE’s Bowling Green headquarters.
The vigil was organized by SOKY Indivisible, a chapter of the national Indivisible organization, which was founded in response to President Donald Trump’s reelection and second inauguration, according to the Indivisible website.
‘One Small Step’ initiative encourages civil discourse between strangers

WKU Public Media is partnering with StoryCorps and the Library of Congress to launch “One Small Step (OSS)” throughout December, an initiative that “aims to connect people as people,” Membership Services Manager for WKU Public Media Elizabeth Bates said in an email.
StoryCorps launched OSS in aims of finding common ground in shared lives and experiences between people who have different cultural backgrounds and beliefs. Bates said this is not a debate, but instead a conversation that lets students meet others with different perspectives, allowing them to get to know that person as an individual.

The WKU Student Government Association announced at its meeting on Aug. 19 it will be adding a student-painted mural to a column in the SGA chambers.
SGA Chief Communications Officer Preston Jenkins said the association is looking to enlist four separate artists to each paint one side of the column.

As one of the community’s top news organizations, it is our job to reach any and all audiences with our content. Herald Español is our way to give the Spanish speakers on our campus, in our community and beyond a way to access the Herald.
WKU Volleyball set to host Vanderbilt

WKU Volleyball returns to E.A. Diddle Arena to take on the Vanderbilt Commodores on Tuesday, Sept 16.
The Hilltoppers are returning from the ETSU Tournament, where they went 3-0 on the weekend.
It was a balanced weekend for WKU, with at least four players contributing five or more kills in every game.
