SGA announces spring election results, DEI constitution amendment passes

The WKU Student Government Association announced the spring election results for the 25th Senate on Tuesday, April 15.
Student Body President-Elect Rush Robinson will follow Student Body President Sam Kurtz, who held the role for two years
“My biggest hope is that the entire organization continues to hold critical to our mission,” Kurtz said “We need to continue putting an emphasis on getting our resources in every corner of campus ”

SGA holds final 24th Senate meeting
The WKU Student Government Association held its final meeting of the 24th Senate on Tuesday, April 15.
SGA did not have legislation to discuss in their final meeting and instead spent it addressing their peers before many members graduate or forego reelection
Student Body President Sam Kurtz began his report by thanking Senate members for their work throughout the year

The WKU School of Media & Communication recognized investigative journalist
Anabel Hernández with the 2025 Fleischaker-Green Award for Courageous International Reporting on Tuesday evening in the Gary Ransdell Hall Auditorium
Hernández is one of Mexico’s leading investigative journalists and has dedicated more than three decades to exposing drug cartels, government corruption, human rights violations and abuses of power, according to a press release from the SMC
She has been featured in numerous publications, and her bestseller, “Narcoland: The Mexican Drug Lords,” has become a global reference for investigative journalism on organized crime and corruption, according to a biography shared by Gordon “Mac” McKerral, the WKU journalism program coordinator and event organizer

WKU Softball fell at the University of Kentucky Tuesday in a 9-1 run-rule loss, its first run-rule defeat of the season
The Hilltoppers are now 21-19 overall and 6-8 on the road
WKU Baseball falls at Louisville
WKU Baseball fell at the No 17 ranked University of Louisville 5-2 Tuesday night at Jim Patterson Stadium
The Hilltoppers dropped to 31-6 overall and 9-6 on the road with the loss
