VARIATION

A HIGHLY COMPLEX AND VARIED SEQUENCE OF “LIGHTSCAPES” ARE CREATED WITHIN A CONFIGURATION OF SIMPLE GEOMETRIC FORM IN EACH SPACES SUCH AS TRIANGLE, RECTANGLE AND SQUARE.

THE BRIGHT LIGHT THAT ENTER THE SPACE WHICH REFLECTED BY THE PURELY WH TE CEILING WALL AND FLOOR CREATE A CONTRAST WITH THE ARTWORKS THAT ARE MORE D M IN COLOUR THE LIGHT IN THE SPACE AND THE SHADOW ON THE ARTWORKS MAKE THE USER MORE FOCUS WHEN INSIDE THE SPACE.

ZHENGZHOU ART MUSEUM AND ZHENGZHOU ARCHIVE IS DESIGNED BY TJAD ARCHITECTS THE ART MUSEUM AND ARCHIVE IS LOCATED N THE DEVELOPING CLUSTER ARCHITECTURE AREA R SING FROM THE WILDERNESS IN THE WEST OF ZHENGZHOU.

FORMING THE FUTURE CULTURAL CENTER GROUP ALONG WITH TWO OTHER BUILDINGS, THE PROJECT ADDRESSES THE DUALITY OF URBAN AND H STORICAL IDENTITY OF THE CITY

THE JOURNEY TAKES THE USER ON A PATH OF SELF-DISCOVERY TO RELIVE THE MOMENTS OF CHILDHOOD AND THE REALIZAT ON THAT THE TRANSITION INTO ADULTHOOD MEANS FORGOING THE CAREFREE L FE TO ACCEPT THE REALITY OF HARDSHIPS IN LIFE INCORPORATING THE PLAYFUL NATURE OF CHILDHOOD INTO THE SPATIAL EXPERIENCE THE STRUCTURE IS PART ALLY SUBMERGED UNDERWATER WITH THE PLAY OF WATER PATTERN MOVEMENT. THE FRAGMENTS OF TUCKED AWAY MEMORIES COMPELS THE USER TO APPROACH NTO THE ENTRANCE GUIDED BY STRIPES OF LIGHT CONVERGING INTO WITHIN. THE COARSE SURFACE OF THE ENTRANCE GRADUALLY BECOMES SMOOTHER AS THE USER DESCENDS DOWNWARDS, LEAD BY THE STRIPES OF LIGHT, GUIDING HIM AS HE STARTS TO RECALL H S MEMORIES OF CHILDHOOD. THE PATH THEN LEADS THE USER DOWNWARDS CURIOUS, THE USER FOLLOWS THE PATH AND SEES PATTERNS OF DANCING L GHT CASTED ON THE FLOOR, ACCOMPANIED BY SHADOWS. FOLLOWING THE LIGHT WHICH INCREASES IN SIZE THE SPACE LEADS THE USER TO A SPACE COMPLETELY BATHED IN PATTERNS OF LIGHT SURPRISED, THE USER RECALLS THE MEMORIES OF HIS CHILDHOOD AS HE IS OVERWHELMED WITH THE JOY OF REMEMBERING THE FUN TIMES DUR NG CHILDHOOD. MOVING FORWARD THE SPACE SUDDENLY BECOMES DARK WITH LITTLE LIGHT FRAGMENTS POURING IN. THE USER WALKS DOWN THE VO D-L KE SPACE, RELYING ON THE LITTLE LIGHT AND THE TOUCH OF THE WALL SURFACE NEXT TO HIM TO NAVIGATE HIS WAY DOWN. WATER CASCADES IN THE SLIPS OF THE WALLS SPLASHING H M AT RANDOM AS THE STREAM OF WATER BOUNCES UPON THE CHANGING TEXTURE OF THE WALL. THROUGHOUT THE JOURNEY, THE USER FEELS CONFUSED AND UNCERTAIN ABOUT HIS FEELINGS AND DECIDES TO HAVE A MOMENT OF REFLECTION. REFLECTING, THE LIGHT CHANGES PORTRAYING THE CHANGING FEELINGS FELT BY THE USER. THE JOURNEY THEN LEADS TO A LONG DARK PATH THAT GRADUALLY NARROWS AND BECOMES HIGHER AND STEEPER. THE JOURNEY AIMS TO EVOKE A SENSE OF CONSTRAINT AND MELANCHOLY AS THE USER SLOWLY COMES TO TERMS W TH THE REALIZATION THAT HIS CHILDHOOD MOMENT HAS ENDED AND THAT HE HAS TO FACE THE REAL TY OF ADULTHOOD.
