Donald Trump Becomes the First World Leader to Meet Japan's New Emperor Under a blazing hot sun at Japan’s Imperial Palace, President Donald Trump on May 27 became the first world leader to meet the new emperor of Japan. The president was the center of attention at a grand outdoor welcome ceremony where he took a solo walk down red carpets, reviewing Japanese troops as the guest of honor. The pomp and pageantry then gave way to meetings with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe about trade and other world issues. Trump’s “state call” opened with handshakes and greetings from Naruhito, who ascended to the throne on May 1, and his wife, Empress Masako. As he approached the emperor, Trump said, “How are you? Thank you very much.” The first lady told the empress, “Nice to meet you.” After exchanging pleasantries inside the palace, the couples emerged and walked to a raised platform as the national anthems of both countries were played. Trump showed little emotion but waved near schoolchildren feverishly waving the United States and Japanese flags. Some of the children suffered from the heat and were later seen sitting with cups of water and cool compresses on their foreheads. At the White House, a week before meeting Japan’s new emperor, Trump noted the significance of his meeting with the emperor. Naruhito took the throne after his father stepped down, the first abdication in Japan’s royal family in about two centuries. “It’s a very big thing going on with the emperor.

It’s something that hasn’t happened in over 200 years,” Trump said. “I am the guest, meaning the United States is the guest.” Trump stressed that Abe “very specifically” said Trump is the guest of honor. “With all the countries of the world, I’m the guest of honor at the biggest event that they’ve had in over 200 years,” Trump said. It’s not the emperor who chose Trump as his first state guest. It was Abe, who is seen by some as using the invitation to meet Naruhito to curry favor with Trump who is threatening to impose potentially devastating tariffs on Japan’s auto industry, among other tensions in the relationship. After leaving the Imperial Palace, Trump went to the Akasaka Palace, the Japanese state guest house with lush manicured grounds, for meetings, a working lunch and joint news conference with Abe. The president was also the guest of honor at an imperial banquet at the palace hosted by the emperor.

is simple. A bamboo stick is used as the paint brush, and white colour made of rice paste, is used on a red ochre background. In some case the acrylics are also used instead of the rice paste, along with cow dung and gerue (red earth) for the earthy backgrounds.

Saura art is often mistaken for Warli art of Western India. There are, however, subtle differences between the two. Like Warli art, Saura also features characters in geometrical shapes, but the Saura forms are larger and more elongated. Further, Saura paintings use a fish-net approach, creating JUNE 2019 | WWW.WISHESH.NET

It’s being practice for hundreds of years. Un till Madhubani paintings were relatively unknown, and “discovered” only in 1934, when during an inspection after an earthquake, a British colonial officer came across them on the walls of houses. Madhubani paintings mostly depict nature and religious motifs made during the special occasion and ceremonies. The themes revolve around deities like Krishna, Rama, Shiva, Durga, Lakshmi, Saraswati, and objects like the sun and moon are also widely painted. It is believed that this art form originated during the time of Ramayana, when King Janak commissioned artists to paint pictures on the occasion of his daughter Sita’s wedding. The Madhubani paintings are done with fingers, twigs, brushes, nib-pens and matchsticks, and natural dyes and pigments, such as turmeric, soot, cow dung, indigo, rice powder, sandalwood and rose are still in use. Reasons Why You Shouldn’t Clean

Your Ears

With Cotton Swab

Using cotton swabs to clean your ears can be dangerous enough though it may seem harmless enough. Medical experts are warning people not to try removing wax and debris from their ear canals. Medical experts have seen many catastrophes resulting from using cotton swabs. From punctured eardrums to super impacted wax, there are many negative consequences associated with “do-ityourself” ear cleaning. WWW.WISHESH.NET | JUNE 2019

HEALTHY LIVING From cotton swabs to toys, people use several items to clean their ears. Some of the most interesting seen in doctors’ offices include:

Cotton swabs Hairpins Tweezers Pens and pencils Straws Paper clips Toys

While this is only a partial list, it’s important to know that nothing should be placed inside the ear to get rid of dirt and debris. This is unsafe and could cause hearing loss or a damaged eardrum or ear canal. The ear canal has specialized cells that produce ear wax. Ear wax accumulates much quicker for some people than others. This can lead to wax build-up that causes decreased competence to hear and in quite a lot of instances, pain. As an easy way to avoid seeing a medical professional, many people resort to using swabs to get rid of the excess wax, causing more harm than good. The eardrum is easily reached with a swab. Because the eardrum is so delicate, it can be easily ruptured by using even the gentlest pressure when using a swab. The pain of punctured WWW.WISHESH.NET | JUNE 2019

eardrum is severe and the ear may also leak a clear fluid. While a punctured eardrum will heal, it can take a while and can even lead to conductive hearing loss. Is Cleaning Your Ears Necessary The outer ear or pinna benefits from a good cleaning every now and then. This can be accomplished with a little soap, water, and a washcloth while you shower. In most cases, the ear canal does not need to be cleaned. During hair washing or showers, enough water enters the ear canal to loosen the wax that has accumulated. In addition, the skin in your ear canal naturally grows

in an outward, spiral pattern. As it sloughs off, ear wax goes with it. Most of the time the wax will loosen and fall out on its own while you are asleep. The need for a cotton swab is not necessary. Solution for Build-up Wax For those who have massive wax accumulated, a visit to the doctor may be required since doctors can effortlessly remove ear wax with a little peroxide mixed with water and injected into the ear. The process is virtually pain-free and is effective at removing impacted wax. If excess wax turns a frequent problem, ask your doctor how you can do the process yourself at home. The process of wine-making includes fermentation wherein the yeast consumes the sugars in the grapes converting it into alcohol. Grapes of different kinds produce various kinds of wines and different wines may be combined to create more complex flavors. Red wine is majorly rich in resveratrol that may offer a number of health benefits.

Some of the health benefits of red wine: Moderately Decreases Cardiovascular Risk Resveratrol present in red wine may help improve heart health in various ways. According to researchers, red wine reduces the risk of heart disease because of the way it helps the gut microbiome. Red wine may also improve the levels of omega-3 fatty acids in plasma and red blood cells which are believed to protect against heart disease. Gulping a glass of wine will not just relish the happy high but also has a good deal of health benefits. Depending on the type, different types of wines have their own set of health benefits. While red wine is known to slightly healthier than the white variety of it because of the presence of some vitamins and minerals but white wine is known to contain fewer calories. Made out of fermented grapes and other fruits, the alcoholic beverage if taken in moderation serves a gamut of health benefits.

Helps Control Type-2 Diabetes A study shows that drinking a glass of red wine with dinner is known to reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases in people with type-2 diabetes. Ethanol present in wine plays a key role in metabolizing glucose and hence may be safe for people with Type-2 diabetes.

Brain Damage After Stroke Resveratrol may protect the brain from stroke damage, according to researchers at Johns Hopkins JUNE 2019 | WWW.WISHESH.NET

HEALTHY LIVING University School of Medicine. Results from tests on mice showed that resveratrol increased levels of heme oxygenase, an enzyme known to protect nerve cells in the brain from damage. When a stroke occurs, the brain is ready to protect itself because of higher enzyme levels. However, it remains unclear whether the health benefits are due to the resveratrol itself, or if the alcohol in the wine is needed to concentrate the levels of the compound.

Prevents Vision Loss Resveratrol in red wine may help prevent vision loss caused by out-of-control blood vessel growth in the eye, according to findings published in 2010. 34

Diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration are leading causes of blindness among Americans aged 50 years and above. This is due to an overgrowth of blood vessels in the eye, known as angiogenesis.

Prevents Colon Cancer According to a study presented in 2015 by UK scientists, consuming resveratrol may reduce the size of bowel tumors by approximately 50 percent.

Prevents Breast Cancer Red wine has been known to help prevent breast cancer. While Regular consumption of most alcoholic drinks is ironically known to increase the risk of breast cancer, chemicals in the seeds and skins of red grapes if consumed in moderation may actually help prevent breast cancer. women who drink red wine in moderation may be spared this risk.

Protection from Prostate Cancer A study published in 2007 reported that, in men who drink moderate amounts of red wine, the chance of being diagnosed with prostate cancer is around half that of men who never drink red wine. The researchers defined moderate drinking as an average of four to seven glasses of red wine per week.

Treats Acne Rich in antioxidant and antiinflammatory properties, red wine is known to help treat acne. Sometimes it is suggested that applying red wine directly on skin after mixing it with

benzoyl peroxide may maximize antibacterial activity.

Prevents Lung Cancer Red wine if taken in moderation is known to boost lung function and also help prevent lung cancer. It protects the cells from proliferating and prevent lung damage.

Prevents Dementia Dementia is a growing health issue that most elderly people face. A team of researchers found that a moderate amount of red wine intake can reduce the risk of developing dementia. DONALD TRUMP’S NEW POLICY TO REPLACE EXISTING GREEN CARD SYSTEM Donald Trump has said he will replace the existing green cards with ‘Build America’ visa, as the United States President unveiled new merit and points-based immigration policy that seeks to increase the quota for highly-skilled workers. Every year, the United States issues nearly 1.1 million green cards, which gives foreign nationals lifetime permission to live and work in the United States and a path to citizenship in five years. Currently, most of the cards are issued WWW.WISHESH.NET | JUNE 2019

based on family links and diversity visa, and a small section is given to people who are professionals and highly skilled. Trump said on Thursday he wanted to change that and unveiled a new proposal.

“Our proposal fulfills our sacred duty to those living here today while ensuring America remains a welcoming country to immigrants joining us tomorrow. We want immigrants coming in,” Trump said in a major immigration policy address in the Rose Garden of the White House recently. “We cherish the open door that we want to create for our country, but a big proportion of those immigrants must come in through merit and skill,” he said. The White House plan makes no change to the number of green cards allocated each year. “Instead of admitting people through random chance, we will establish simple, universal criteria for admission to the United States. No matter where in the world you’re born, no matter who your relatives are, if you want to become an American citizen, it will be clear exactly what standard we ask you to achieve. It will be made crystal clear,” Trump said.

“This will increase the diversity of immigration flows into our country. We will replace the existing green card categories with a new visa, the Build America visa - which is what we all want to hear,” Trump said amidst applause from the audience. Trump said like Canada and many other modern countries, his administration seeks to create an “easy-to-navigate points-based” selection system. “You will get more points for being a younger worker, meaning you will contribute more to our social safety net. You will get more points for having a valuable skill, an offer of employment, an advanced education, or a plan to create jobs,” he said. In the absence of such a system, America is losing people who want to start companies, and in many cases, are forced to leave the country and go back to the country where they came from, he said.

“They could’ve started them (companies) right here in the United States, where they wanted to do it in the first place. Now they’ll have a chance,” Trump said. The United States President said priority will also be given to higher-wage workers to ensure the American labor is never undercut. To protect benefits for American citizens, immigrants must be financially self-sufficient, he said.

“Finally, to promote integration, assimilation, and national unity, future immigrants will be required to learn English and to pass a civics exam prior to admission. Through these steps, we will deliver an immigration system that respects, and even strengthens, our culture, our traditions, and our values,” Trump said. Unfortunately, he said, the current immigration rules allow foreign workers to substitute for Americans seeking entry-level jobs. “So, foreign workers are coming in and

“Only 12 percent of legal immigrants are selected based on skill or based on merit. In countries like Canada, Australia, and New Zealand that number is closer to 60 and even 70 and 75 percent, in some cases,” he said. The biggest change his administration will make is to increase the proportion of highlyskilled immigration from 12 percent to 57 percent, Trump said. “We’d like to even see if we can go higher. This will bring us in line with other countries and make us globally competitive,” he said. At the same time, the current system prioritizes the immediate family of new Americans - spouses and children, he said. “The loved ones you choose to build a life with, we prioritize. And we have to do that. They go right to the front of the line. Right to the front of the line, where they should be,” Trump said.

they’re taking the jobs that would normally go to American workers,” Trump said. “America’s immigration system should bring in people who will expand opportunity for striving, low-income Americans, not to compete with those low-income Americans,” he said. As a result of the broken rules, the annual green card flow is mostly low-wage and lowskilled, he rued, adding that the newcomers compete for jobs against the most vulnerable Americans and put pressure on the social safety net and generous welfare programs. WORLD NEWS In an emotional speech outside 10 Downing Street, May said she had “done everything” she could to convince members of Parliament to back the Brexit withdrawal agreement she had negotiated with the European Union. But, she said it was with “deep regret” that she had ultimately failed to reach a consensus among lawmakers. “I believe it was right to persevere even when the odds against success seemed high, but it is now clear to me that it is in the best interests of the country for a new prime minister to lead that effort,” May said at a hastily arranged press conference. “I will shortly leave the job that it has been the honor of my life to hold. The second female prime minister but certainly not the last.” 48

Theresa May Resigns as UK Prime Minister Britain Prime Minister Theresa May announced her resignation on May 24, drawing her turbulent three-year premiership to an abrupt end. She will step down as Conservative party leader on June 7.

“I do so with no ill will but with enormous and enduring gratitude to have had the opportunity to serve the country I love,” May said, her voice shaking. Sterling briefly rose 0.5 percent to climb above $1.27 shortly after May’s statement, before paring gains as investors digested the news.

What Happens Next? After May steps down as Conservative Party leader, she will continue as an acting prime minister until a new leader is in place. It means May will still be in Downing Street for the state visit of President Donald Trump from June 3. On three occasions, U.K. lawmakers

have refused to vote in favor of May’s much-maligned deal to leave the European Union, leading to open challenges to her premiership from within her own party. The U.K. leader had already promised to set a timetable for a new prime minister to take the reins, once lawmakers had voted on her new Brexit “Withdrawal Agreement Bill.” But her proposals, including a customs union arrangement and the chance for lawmakers to vote on holding another Brexit referendum, prompted anger from many Conservative Members of Parliament (MPs). The opposition Labour Party called May’s latest Withdrawal Agreement Bill a “rehash” and said it would not support the plans.

United kingdom’s second female leader, after Margaret Thatcher, and vowing to carry through Britain’s exit. She initially began the official process of withdrawing the U.K. from the European Union by triggering Article 50 in March 2017. The following month, May announced a snap general election with the aim of strengthening her hand in Brexit negotiations. That move backfired as the number of Conservative Party MPs actually lost, forcing her government to operate on a confidence and supply deal, securing votes from the Democratic Unionist Party of Northern Ireland. The biggest difficulty May faced when trying to carry

through Britain’s exit from the EU was settling the Irish border issue - a contentious problem which remains unresolved. Ultimately, her plan to exit the European Union failed to satisfy lawmakers from across the political spectrum and put in place a sequence of events that has seen her step down. The daughter of a vicar, May attended Oxford University where she read Geography. The 62-year-old May was first elected as a Member of Parliament in 1997 and rose to become home secretary before taking the top job of prime minister. Previously, May had worked at the Bank of England.

The process of selecting May’s replacement will now begin with Conservative lawmaker and former Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson heavily tipped as her probable successor.

How Did We Get Here? The referendum to leave the European Union started on June 23, 2016. A day later, Prime Minister David Cameron, who opposed Brexit, announced his resignation, effective that July. May succeeded him, becoming the JUNE 2019 | WWW.WISHESH.NET

Mumbai girl is world’s 1st to Cross the

Atlantic Ocean in Light Sports Aircraft Captain Aarohi Pandit, a 23-year-old pilot from Mumbai, has successfully crossed the Atlantic Ocean solo in a Light Sports Aircraft (LSA) to become the world’s first woman to cross the second largest of the world’s oceans all alone. WWW.WISHESH.NET | JUNE 2019

She achieved the feat around midnight May 13-14 when she landed her tiny aircraft at Iqaluit Airport in Canada, after a strenuous 3,000 km long flight, under adverse weather conditions following take-off from Wick, Scotland, with brief stopovers in Greenland and Iceland. “This is part of her ongoing year-long global circumnavigation flight which was launched wither friend Keithair Misquitta on July 30. Aarohi continued solo from the UK to Canada, and they will return to India by July 30, 2019,” said Lynn de Souza, head of Social Access, a not-for-profit communications firm which organized and sponsored the expedition. “En route, she set another world record as the first woman pilot to fly solo above the treacherous Greenland ice-cap in an LSA, and is due for at least half a dozen other records by the time she reaches India,” Lynn told. A commercial pilot and LSA license holder, Pandit and her best friend Keithair Misquitta left India on the Women Empower (WE) Expedition in the tiny aircraft named ‘Mahi’, the first LSA certified by Directorate-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) India. Pandit and Misquitta flew over Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and then to Pakistan, where they landed - making it the first civilian LSA flight to land in the neighboring country since 1947 - and went onto Iran, Turkey, Serbia, Slovenia, Germany, France, and the United Kingdom.

After landing in Iqaluit, Pandit with pride exhibited the Indian Tricolour presented to her by the Indian Ambassador to Canada Vikas Swarup, said Lynn. “I am so honored and grateful I could do this for my country and for women everywhere… Flying over the Atlantic Ocean is a humbling experience. “It’s just you and your little plane, the light blue sky above and dark blue sea or shining white ice below,” said a worn out yet cheerful Pandit in her landing remarks to her cheering friends in Mumbai. Though she admitted certain sectors in the long flight were bumpy, the “beauty of the ocean and islands was breathtaking and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.”

A resident of Borivali, northwest Mumbai suburb, Pandit is an ardent fan of the legendary American aviator, Amelia Earheart, who became the world’s first woman to make a solo transatlantic flight in a bigger aircraft, 87 years ago, on May 20, 1932. Pandit went through an arduous seven-month preparatory training schedule in India, Siberia, Greenland, Italy over oceans, high altitude, snow, extreme weather conditions, different terrains testing her physical and mental capabilities to undertake her circumnavigation feat.

After a brief sojourn in Canada, the WE Expedition will go along with Pandit flying westwards to Russia, cross many longitudes and stumbling blocks, create or break more records, before she finally returns home by July 30, after clocking in around 37,000 km.

Indian Hip Hop Crew ‘The Kings’ Wins American Reality Show World of Dance Season 3 The Kings, a hip-hop dance crew from Mumbai, has won American reality television show “World of Dance”. The Kings ruled the stage with their dazzling performance on Malhari. Formerly known as Fictitious Dance Group, the 14-member crew was founded by choreographers Vernon Monteiro and Suresh Mukund in 2008. Initially, the group rehearsed on the roads or at beaches for lack of a studio. Despite the myriad challenges they faced, they WWW.WISHESH.NET | JUNE 2019

stuck together for over 10 years and participated in local competitions to win just Rs 500. They then went on to perform at a number of prestigious competitions and events, including India’s Got Talent and the inaugural ceremony of the Indian Premier League in 2016. Their entry into the finals of the World Hip-Hop Championships in 2012 was the inspiration behind ABCD2, a film directed by actor and choreographer Remo D’Souza.

Choreographer Suresh Mukund says after this victory, the 15-member crew is done with dance competitions. Talking about the group’s last performance at the competition, Mukund said: “We did a Baahubali act in India two years ago that went viral, so I knew the concept of cinematic feel and slow motion will work for sure.

“But then I started following other dancers. I noticed that their level was going up. They were coming close to us, so that was the time when I thought that we have to do something to show that we are the best. World of Dance provided them the platform to prove that they are the real kings of dance.

“I kept that for the final round. Coincidentally, they asked us to do a performance with a cinematic theme in the final round. I knew they wouldn’t understand it (Baahubali) as it’s not a Hollywood movie. Then I planned to do it in Spartan style.” The show’s judge Ne-Yo called it the “greatest action film” he has ever seen, while Derek Hough thought they “altered reality”. Jennifer Lopez was happy to be surprised by their performance. This isn’t Mukund’s first stint at a dance show. He and Vernon Monteiro were part of the Fictitious Dance Group which participated in dance reality shows like Boogie Woogie, Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega and India’s Got Talent. Later his crew, Kings United India, bagged the bronze at the World Hip Hop Dance Championship. Asked about competitions, he said: “I feel that in order to grow in any talent-based field, you need to compete so that you can improvise yourself. When we won bronze, I thought that we would stop competing as that was a really big achievement. JUNE 2019 | WWW.WISHESH.NET

United States-Based Fast Food Chain Taco Bell Unveils Plan to

Build 600 Restaurants in India Taco Bell appears to have its eyes set on the world. The United States-based fast-food chain announced their plan to build 600 restaurants in India over the next decade after signing an agreement with franchise partner Burman Hospitality Private Limited (BHPL) of India.

IN BUSINESS The expansion is predicted to generate thousands of jobs in the country and will establish India as the company’s “largest market outside of the United States,” Taco Bell said. “Upon completion of the 600 restaurants, the brand expects to contribute over 20,000 jobs to India’s economy, and even more indirect jobs through the expanded supply chain and vendor needs,” the company said. The chain currently has 35 restaurants in the Asian country. 58

Taco Bell also detailed plans to open up new locations in other spots around the globe. “In addition to India, Taco Bell will continue expansion across Asia, with the goal of expanding its presence to five restaurants in Thailand by the end of 2019,” according to the news release. The company said it also intends to open up its first locations in Sydney and Melbourne, Australia in the next year. Taco Bell is looking to enter the New Zealand market “for the first time within the next year.” “Additionally, Taco Bell is always looking ahead at

future markets that are the right fit to enter into,” the company continued. “In the coming year, the brand has its sights set on entering Indonesia and Portugal.” The restaurants serve a variety of Mexican inspired foods that include tacos, burritos, quesadillas, nachos, novelty, and specialty items, and a variety of “value menu” items. Taco Bell was founded by Glen Bell, an entrepreneur who first opened a hot dog stand called Bell’s Drive-In in San Bernardino, California in 1948. Bell watched long lines of customers at a Mexican restaurant called the

Mitla Cafe, located across the street, which became famous among residents for its hardshelled tacos. Bell attempted to reverse-engineer the recipe, and eventually, the owners allowed him to see how the tacos were made. He took what he had learned and opened a new stand under the name of Taco-Tia in late 1951 or early 1952, which sold tacos. PepsiCo purchased Taco Bell in 1978, and later spun off its restaurants’ division as Tricon Global Restaurants, which later changed its name to Yum! Brands.

How much has India actually changed under Modi? Here’s the look at some of the accentuating achievements of Modi in his five-year term:

Ayushman Bharat Launched on September 23, 2018, the health insurance scheme has up to now benefited 10 lakh poor patients and could be an electoral game-changer. More than 500 million Indians who could not afford medical treatment for non-communicable illnesses

Swachh Bharat Mission The Swachh Bharat Mission has built toilets at an unprecedented pace. Since October 2014, MORE THAN 92 million toilets have been built, covering almost 500 million households in one of the world’s largest operations of its kind.

Jan Dhan Yojana

like heart disease and malignant tumor now have access to free healthcare.

Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana Launched in 2015, the Modi government’s endeavor to supply last-mile connectivity to hard-to-access rural clusters has been moderately successful. However, a number of villages cited as connected to the electrical power system still have households without power. Part of the problem is that some villages lie in areas controlled by Naxalites while in others the terrain makes access difficult.

scheme, women in villages now have access to cooking gas. This has both health and economic benefits. Over 60 million free LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) connections have been given with nearly 50 percent going to Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes households.

As many as 31.6 crore accounts have been opened under the Modi government’s ambitious scheme for financial inclusion. These accounts have combined deposits of Rs 81,203.59 crore as of May 27. Till February 2018, an estimated 31.20 crore Jan Dhan accounts with combined deposits of over Rs 75,000 crores were opened, out of which only 25.18 crore (or 81 percent) were operative.

INFOCUS The government has set a target of constructing five crore new housing units by 2022 under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, of which three crores are to be built in rural areas and the balance in cities. The urban housing ministry plans to construct 26 lakh houses in 2018-19, 26 lakh in 2019-20, 30 lakh in 202021 and 29.8 lakh in 2021-22.

On November 8, 2016, Narendra Modi sucked out 86 percent of the currency in circulation by value in the Indian economy. The decision was taken against the advice of two successive RBI governors, Raghuram Rajan and Urjit Patel. It was done on the wrong premise – that there was too much cash in the economy (12 percent of GDP); that the currency withdrawn - Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 - were very high-value notes (and, instead, Modi introduced Rs 2,000 notes!); that the move would eliminate all black money in the system as well as fake currency. We know what actually happened: 99.7% of the currency in the system came

into the banks, and so there was no ‘black money dividend’ – the Rs 3 lakh crore that the government expected – to be had; instead, millions of jobs were lost (3.5 million in the year following the move, as per CMIE data, and continuing job losses to this day as thousands of SMEs never recovered, the construction sector slumped and farmers were hit hard as

it came just before a sowing season.

Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code The legislation, enacted in December 2016, is the silver bullet to tackle India’s chronic problem of non-performing assets. Banks have begun

are long-term initiatives but the benefits are already visible. According to fact-checking sites, 12km of highways were constructed in 201314. This pace more than doubled to 27km per day in 2017-18. In Mumbai alone, coastal roads, a new airport, and a large metro network could transform public transport in India’s richest city that has long been infrastructure-poor.

Strong basics Foreign policy The government has repaired relations with China, the Maldives and Sri Lanka, built economic

and geopolitical bridges to east Asia and west Asia and strengthening the strategic partnership with the United States.

Goods and Services Tax The implementation of the goods and services tax was chaotic and its structure needlessly complex. Its benefits, though, are beginning to seep through the economy. Revenue is lower than expected but the removal of octroi, for example, has greatly helped the logistics and transport industries. The absence of state boundary checks means truckers save up to 30 percent in fuel and time, raising productivity with quicker turnarounds.

to recover debts that had seemingly turned irretrievably bad. “Phone banking” has ground to a halt.

Infrastructure India witnessed an abrupt rise in building roads, highways and metro networks as well as housing for the poor. These

The Government which attacks its own innocent subjects has no claim to be called a civilized government.

Bear in mind, such a government does not survive long. I declare that the blows struck at me will be the last nails in the coffin of the British rule in India. Attention All You People in a Relationship Your Partner Is More Likely to Cheat on You on a Friday Evening No matter how transparent your partner is with you, at times you find yourself mistrusting them. Nevertheless, a study made it a piece of cake for you to find when your partner might be cheating on you. WWW.WISHESH.NET | JUNE 2019

After a tiring week at work, we all undeniably have our heart set on for Friday nights. You may be having a wild time or just a bit of shut-eye, it is true that the anticipation of Friday makes us jump with joy. Still and all, Friday equally has a dark side that you probably were not aware of. A study by IllicitEncounters.com said that your partner is most likely to cheat on you on a Friday evening. For the study, the site surveyed 1000 people and concluded that the peak time for your lover to commit infidelity is 6.45 p.m. on a Friday, reported Women’s Health Australia. The study also says that if your partner frequently makes excuses like ‘Hey I am partying with my co-workers’ on a Friday evening, there are high chances they are cheating on you. Around 74 percent of people are opting for this excuse.

The rest of your dilemmas will get clear after this statement by Christain, the spokesman of IllicitEncounters.com. He says, “What this new research shows is that cheats are creatures of habit. They have strict routines which they tend to stick to when they are seeing their lover. If your partner regularly goes out with work colleagues on a Friday night, this should raise suspicions, particularly if they always go out with you the following night. The Saturday night date is partly due to guilt over the Friday night liaison.” The survey also suggests that if your partner is cheating on you, they prefer seeing you two times a week, making Tuesday the second most popular time to get busy outside of a relationship. Thus Tuesday comes at the second spot. 64 percent of the people also self-confessed to having used the same routine to avoid suspicion.

Tips for First Date Success 86

Going on a first date can be pretty exciting but also super stressful. Use these tips to ensure your next first date is your best first date. Tell Your Friends What You’re up to Before going on a first date, it’s important to let a friend, family member and/or trusted confidant know where you’re going and who you’re meeting. Since many first dates involve meeting a complete stranger, you should stay on the safe side by informing other people as to your whereabouts as well as letting them know when you’ve arrived back at home after the date itself. And since your friends and family will likely want to hear all about how the date went anyway, keeping others in the loop can truly help you to stay out of harm’s way.

Be on Time If you want to set the stage for a great first date, you should also do your best to be punctual. Not only does this show the person you’re meeting that you care enough about the date to make it a priority, but it also shows him or her that you’re organized, respectful and mature. In fact, by arriving at the date on time, you’re letting this person know that you’re able to keep commitments, and when it comes to relationships in general, this is an excellent quality to have.

Put Your Phone Away While you may spend most of the day glued to your phone, texting your friends and checking social media, you should opt to put your phone away during your date so that you don’t send him or her the wrong message (so to speak). Specifically, if your focus is on your phone during the date rather than on the person you’re actually with, you’re giving off the impression that you’re not

LOVE & ROMANCE interested in what he or she’s saying and that you have other things on your mind. So in order to avoid coming off as indifferent, uninterested, and just plain rude, you should take a different approach by putting away your phone and focusing on your date instead.

Go Easy on the Cocktails

Another important tip for a tip-top first date is to stay levelheaded. And while you may meet this person at a bar or restaurant, it’s imperative that you set a drink limit for yourself before going on the date. After all, not only can getting drunk prevent you from really getting to know this person, but it also implies to him or her that you’re more interested in the drink specials than meeting someone special. And on a more sobering note, you can also put your own safety and well-being at risk by having one too many drinks.

Don’t Hog the Conversation While it’s important that you tell your date about yourself and share personal stories and anecdotes, it’s equally important that you don’t dominate the entire conversation. In fact, rather than having a one-sided discussion where all you do is talk and talk, it’s imperative that you truly listen to what WWW.WISHESH.NET | JUNE 2019

your date has to say instead. Not only will listening to him or her enable you to get to know this person better as well as help you to determine if you’re actually interested in him or her romantically, but being a good listener is also a highly attractive and appealing characteristic in a mate.

Be Positive Your best bet for a great first date is to stay positive. After all, if you arrive on the date already thinking that it’s going to be a disaster and that you’re not going to hit it off with this person, your negative mindset will impact your behavior and greatly increase the likelihood of a problematic outcome. So rather than heading into the date already believing that

it’s going to fail, you should give this person and the date itself a real chance by staying upbeat, positive and optimistic.

Believe in Yourself Along these lines, it’s essential that you have confidence in yourself. In fact, having high self-esteem is highly attractive to others, so you should be sure to remember how much you have to offer. And since dating can be a bit daunting, unnerving, and overwhelming at times, you should be your biggest advocate by never forgetting how special you truly are. That way, you can find someone who recognizes this about you, too.

Follow these rules To place your bed at the right place, always see to it that you look for a South or West direction. If at all you are unable to keep your bed in the right direction then you should see to it that you keep your bed about 4 inches away from the wall If you want your health to stay good and not get affected then you should see to it that there is no beam crossing over your bed.

Never consider the North direction to keep your head because the body works in such a way that when you are lying down the blood flows really fast and there is a magnetic pull on that iron that is passing through and floating in your head, these magnetic waves in the opposite direction causes disturbance in your sleep and further affects your state of mind as well. Always consider buying a bed made of wood instead of a bed made of metal. No doubt metal beds are low maintenance but they are not considered good as per Vastu. It would be good if you buy a bed of an irregular shape and see to it that the bed does not touch the ground. Do not keep your bed right in front of the room, always see to it that you are facing

INDIAN VAASTU CORNER South, West or East while sleeping

Tip No 3 - Placing Things The Right Way There is science linked to how we place things as well. Here is what you should take into account If you are looking at what to place on the south or west direction of your wall then you should just place your mirror there and see to it that it is not facing your bed, south and west is considered because it is the right place and not be a hindrance for any sort of positive energy entering the room.

See to it that you do not place a double mattress on your bed, place a single mattress on your bed. Keep all electronic devices away from where you are sleeping because they give out electromagnetic waves which are not good for the body to take in. You should avoid keeping broken clocks or decorative pieces because they can come in the way of peace in your home. It is always good to discard anything damaged or broken than to pile up the junk.

Tip No 4 - Vastu Tips On The Right Colors You should consider earthen colors for the walls in your bedroom as it ensures to keep peace, happiness, comfort, stability, satisfaction, and prosperity in your life and we need them all to lead a good life.

Tip No 5 - Good To Know Tips

> In case you have a window behind

your bed, do not keep it open while you are asleep

> Do not hang pictures of people who have passed away on your walls

If you have a toilet attached to your bedroom then most of the times see to it that it is shut when not in use

> It is nice to clean your floor with salt

water once in a way because it drags out all the negative energy from your room

> You can add some positive energy in

your room by lighting candles that have a natural aroma and one of the best things you can do is to place two roses in the southwest corner of your room to add to the happiness in your life

Summary When it comes to looking into the vastu of a bedroom, aspects such as the direction and placement of the bed, entrance, doors, windows, dressing table, the colors on the wall and all the minute things kept in bedroom matter and are taken into account. JUNE 2019 | WWW.WISHESH.NET

Reason Why Wearing a Bindi Is Good for Health Did you at any point had a difference of opinion with your mother or with someone elder in your family for why putting bindi is important? And, at that moment you would’ve not agreed to their point.

INDIAN SPIRITUAL Apart from a sign of tradition and religion and in some cases as a fashion trend, putting bindi actually holds a number of health benefits. The health benefits of this cultural practice stem from the fact that bindi is worn at the point in between the two eyebrows, the point which has tremendous significance in the ancient healing arts.

Significance of Bindi, According to Yoga 114

According to yoga, this point is known as the ‘ajna chakra’ or ‘agya chakra.’ It is the sixth and most powerful chakra in the human body and it encompasses the head, eyes, brain, pineal gland and pituitary gland. This chakra plays a major role in yogic meditation and many meditation techniques require you to focus on this point. The pranayama technique of Brahmari, meaning bee breath, is focused entirely on opening up this chakra. Several yoga poses, including Balasana (Child’s Pose) and Ardha Pincha Mayurasana (Dolphin Pose), involve touching your forehead to the ground in WWW.WISHESH.NET | JUNE 2019

order to stimulate this chakra. Lord Shiva’s third eye is also located at this point, and it is believed to be the center of knowledge, intuition, awakening, and awareness.

Health Benefits of Wearing Bindi Clears up Sinuses The trigeminal nerve, which is responsible for sensation in the entire face, passes through this area. This nerve is the largest of the cranial nerves and it has three branches, as you can probably tell from the name. Stimulating this nerve helps

reduce the swelling and congestion in your sinuses.

Relieves Headache According to acupressure, pressing this point for a few seconds can relieve a headache almost instantly, because a number of key nerves and blood vessels converge at this point.

Improves Eye Health The supratrochlear nerve also passes through this area. This nerve is a branch of the frontal nerve, which in turn is a branch of the

ophthalmic division of the trigeminal nerve. It is connected to all the muscles around the eyes, thus stimulating this nerve is believed to improve vision and eye health.

Keeps Skin Young The trigeminal nerve’s branches cover pretty much your entire face. Stimulating this nerve helps keep your skin young and your facial muscles strong.

Improves Hearing One of the nerves passing through this area also stimulates your cochlear, which is a part of the inner ear that is key to hearing.

Puts a Stop to Depression The trigeminal nerve is such a key nerve that the medical community is now researching ways to stimulate this nerve with very low-

intensity electrical shocks in order to treat depression, epilepsy and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). By pressing this nerve for a few seconds every day, you can prevent these conditions.

Prevents Insomnia It is believed that stimulating the point between two eyebrows relaxes the face and body to the extent that it prevents insomnia and promotes restful sleep. This point is also very closely linked to the pineal gland, a tiny pea-sized gland in the brain that produces the hormones serotonin and melatonin. Melatonin is the sleep hormone, whereas serotonin is one of the hormones related to happiness.

Boosts Memory According to both yoga and acupressure, stimulating this point boosts memory and concentration.

Donald Trump Hosts

Iftar Feast at White House Ramadan is a time when people join forces in pursuit of hope, tolerance, and peace, the United States President Donald Trump said addressing eminent Muslim members at an Iftar dinner. Trump hosted an Iftaar dinner for eminent Muslim members from his administration and top diplomats from various countries at the White House.

During the month of worship, Muslims fast from sunrise to sundown and focus on prayer and spiritual life to deepen their devotion to god. “Ramadan is a time of charity, of giving, and service to our fellow citizens. Ramadan is a very special time. It’s a time to draw closer as families, neighbors, and communities,” Trump said.

Trump resolved to defeat the evils of terrorism and religious persecution so that all people can worship without fear, pray without danger and live by the faith that flows from their heart. “We thank god that America is a place founded on the belief that citizens of all faiths can live together in safety and live together in freedom,” he said.

“And Ramadan is a time when people join forces in pursuit of hope, tolerance, and peace. It is in this spirit that we come together tonight for Iftaar, the traditional Ramadan meal that breaks the daily fast,” he said in his brief address in the State Dining Room of the White House. “This evening, our thoughts are also with the religious believers who have endured many trials and hardships in recent weeks. It’s been a very rough period of time. Our hearts are filled with grief for the Muslims who were killed in their mosques in New Zealand, as well as the Christians, Jews and other children of God who were slain in Sri Lanka, California, and Pittsburgh,” he said.

Story :

A Dog Journey

While the film essentially revolves around a dog reincarnation and he trying to realise his purpose in subsequent births, the story has a larger message. Good people don’t have to finish last and those who love you will always ensure that you aren’t lonely.

Analysis : Sequel to W. Bruce Cameron’s 2010 novel A Dog’s Purpose, this film too follows a dog named Bailey and his journey through several lives via reincarnation and how he chases his purpose through each of his lives. It all begins with Bailey aka the big boss as his loving owner Ethan (Dennis Quaid) calls him, and he observing his family fall apart.

When Bailey is finally put to sleep, Ethan hopes that he’d return to look after CJ, his granddaughter, just the way he has looked after him. After Bailey is reborn as Max, Molly and more, he keeps looking for CJ and ways to make her happy as Ethan had asked him to. A dog’s journey has some heartwarming moments exuding unconditional love and loyalty as expected. Dog lovers in particular will need to carry tissues as this one’s a total tearjerker for them. However, the film ceases to go beyond the sentimental cliches. As seen through the eyes of a dog, as he narrates the story, beyond a point, it all gets repetitive and thus exhausting. As the dog keeps reliving his purpose, you lose a sense of wonder and are prepared for what to expect. Be it a love confession, terminal illness, suspected death, reunion or happy every after you sniff it from a mile. The performances though are truly endearing. In times of social media cynicism, Dennis Quaid, Henry Lau and Kathryn Prescott show you what it feels like to love and be loved in return.

De De Pyaar De Story : An affluent middle-aged man living in London falls in love with a girl half his age. All hell breaks loose when he tries to seek approval from his separated wife and estranged family back in India.

Analysis : Ajay Devgn is in top form (physically and otherwise) playing his age and having the last laugh, even as he lets the audience laugh at him for being repeatedly called Buddha and ‘Uncle’ in the film.

He takes it in his stride, knowing well that even at 50, he can give the 20-year-olds, a run for their money. Little wonder then that, his chemistry with a young and vivacious Rakul Preet Singh doesn’t feel out of place. She compliments Devgn’s suave charisma with confidence and glamour. Like in every film, Tabu excels in this one too, with her understated performance and measured expressions. She is not only the voice of reason in the film, but also grace and beauty personified. Even her comic timing is spot on.

Final Word: All hell breaks loose when he tries to seek approval from his separated wife and estranged family back in India.

Story :

Maharshi is the life story of Rishi Kumar (Mahesh Babu) in three different phases of his life. After his successful journey as a student, he reaches new heights as a businessman set in USA. Soon he returns back to the country for a social cause. The film narrates about the real reasons for his drastic moves and how Rishi stands as a support for the farmers. Watch Maharshi to know about what all happens in his journey in this core social drama.

Analysis : The first half of Maharshi is packed with loads of entertainment for youth. The college episodes came out really well and Mahesh's look, mannerism are a treat for his fans. Though the film dips down at times, the entire first half looks packed with right amounts of entertainment and emotions. Mahesh Babu stuns the audience in a new look which will be remembered.

The college episodes and the family drama along with Mahesh's character were penned well. On the whole, the first half of Maharshi sounds decent and the audience waits for the second half. The second half of Maharshi is long, slow paced and is laced with an emotional drama that conveys a message for the society. The contemporary issue was well narrated on screen despite of the slow pace. Mahesh and the entire list of actors delivered their best. The montage songs have come out really well and are emotional connect of the film. The press meet episode and the emotional climax are the highlights of second half. Maharshi looks lengthy when it comes to runtime.

Final Word: Mahesh Babu stuns in three different shades and Maharshi is all about Vamshi's take on the current education system and the struggling farmers. A decent one time watch.

Story :

ABCD is the story of Aravind Prasad (Allu Sirish) aka Avi who is born to a billionaire businessman (Naga Babu). Avi leads a lavish life with his friends and is fonding of spending money. One fine day, to make him realize the value of money and life, his father sends Avi to India. It is after landing in India, Avi realizes the game plan of his father. The rest of ABCD is all about the struggle of Avi to lead a simple life and the obstacles he faces in this process. Watch ABCD to know about the complete story.

Analysis : ABCD opens with a bang and will narrate the characters well. The tempo goes down gradually and goes on a subtle pace. Though the entertainment episodes are not greatly written, the film looks passable.

The songs are good and they are well placed. The cute love story has been decent and the first half of ABCD looks good with decent commercial elements stuffed into it. Allu Sirish delivers a decent performance throughout the movie. The second half of ABCD has lot of stories involved and has less entertainment. The film turns very slow and should have been crisp and well written. The cinematography work and the performances throughout the second half stand out. The pre-climax episodes make the film slow and the climax of ABCD looks decent. On the whole, the second half of ABCD is ok.

Final Word: Allu Sirish delivers his career's best performance and ABCD makes a decent one time watch. On the flipside, predictable plot and narration are the drawbacks.
