At Autism Together, we understand exactly how to support autistic people to maximise their life opportunities. We offer a wide range of specialist support services to autistic adults, alongside support for autistic children and their families. Since 1968 years, Autism Together has been providing support to autistic people, offering a wide range of residential services, supported living, day services and other support from our base in Bromborough, Wirral, in the UK.
We were formed when a group of parents established The Wirral Society for Autistic Children, which became Wirral Autistic Society, and later Autism Together.
Our ethos
Autism affects everyone differently, so we work with each individual to help them overcome the difficulties the condition presents them with, helping them to lead a more active, creative, and fulfilling life.
As a specialist provider of autism-specific support, our organisation recognises that each person has a right to live their life as they choose. In recognising this right, we create a shared understanding of each person’s strengths and needs, and ensure each
Our services
Autism Together knows exactly how to support autistic individuals to maximise their opportunities for a more creative and fulfilling life.
We offer a range of specialist support services to autistic people and their families, including Residential, Supported Living, and Day Services.
Day Services
Our Day Services offer autistic people a person-centred support-led service, with opportunities to input and design their own support journey.
These structured, person-centred programmes provide the necessary communication strategies and support plans to enable a person to develop independently, safely, and confidently.
Day Services follows a pathway that works alongside the support journey in our other services, using different ‘streams’ that we have designed. A person will be placed into the relevant stream, based upon their personal needs and individual support journey.
Supported Living
Working with registered social landlords, we offer bespoke services in a range of housing –from single flats to shared accommodation –where we support autistic adults of all ages.
A person-centred and comprehensive assessment of each individual is completed, taking the person’s support needs, likes and dislikes, accommodation and staffing preferences into account to ensure the placement is suitable for them.
Detailed transition plans are created so that any person moving into a service will feel comfortable and have a good understanding of what is happening throughout.
Residential Services
Our Residential service offers comprehensive support options for autistic adults. All our Residential properties are owned or privately rented, set in a wide range of locations across Wirral and Cheshire. They range in size from two-person services in the community, through to specialist larger homes set in semi-rural environments.
These housing and support options allow individuals to receive a comprehensive care package to fully meet their needs. We work with the people we support to help each individual lead as fulfilling a life as possible, involving a full daytime, evening, and weekend programme of support and activity.
All our residential care is registered with and inspected by the Care Quality Commission.
