Get ready for an evening of excellent entertainment as three local musical groups join together for a special concert at Trinity Worship Center in Pharr on Friday, Feb. 6. The Rio Grande Valley Concert Band, Swing Street Big Band and the Senior Ambassadors will perform a benefit concert for the Texas Lions Camp (TLC) for children with physical disabilities. World renown pianist Dino presents ‘Amore’ American’s Piano Showman and Ambassador of Good Will, Dino Kartsonakis, will appear on stage at the Harlingen Municipal Auditorium Feb. 12 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. The Dino Live in Concert show will be presented by Vance Greek in his traditional Valentine’s celebration, “Amore.” Vance will open for Dino, who will perform a concert filled with love songs for Valentines Day. Dino is a two-time Grammy Award nominee and one-time Grammy Award winner for “Chariots Fire,” which he composed. He is an eight-time Dove Award winner and a Tele Award winner for “Miracles.” Dino began showing his tremendous talent at the age of three when he would sit at his grandmother’s upright piano on Sundays and play the melody and harmony he heard that morning in church. He “grew into his talents” and later attended Julliard School of Music and Conservatories in France and Germany. He has performed at the Hollywood Bowl, the Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall and many other prestigious venues nationwide. He has performed for presidents and other dignitaries.
