THE OFFICIAL TOWN OF WINDSOR NEWSLETTER
WINDSOR MATTERS APRIL 2021
Safety First!
Know Before You Go Water is unpredictable and adventures on the river come with inherent risk. Before entering the water, know your limits as a watersport participant. This includes considering the depth of the water and the speed in which it flows. When the river runs high—particularly during spring mountain run-off or following heavy storms—there can be unforeseen hazards in the water.
Eastman Park River Experience Opens May 14
No lifeguard on duty. Enter water at your own risk.
Are you ready for a splish-splash good time? Construction on Windsor’s most unique recreation experience is almost complete. Located off of Eastman Park Drive and 7th Street, the Eastman Park River Experience on the Cache la Poudre is a splashing new outdoor adventure spot with a rivermile devoted to local kayaking, canoeing and tubing.
Wear proper safety equipment in the water at all times.
Join Windsor Mayor Paul Rennemeyer, Town Board, Windsor staff and our community for the official ribbon cutting and opening celebration on Friday, May 14, at 4 p.m. as we launch the first of many kayaks and tubes down the river. This new outdoor experience features a dedicated float launch and take out area, a scenic river plaza that provides river access for general water enjoyment, picturesque views of the Cache la Poudre River and an amazing new hangout spot. The space also offers additional parking opportunities. The Town of Windsor is excited to share this new amenity with the community and would like to thank you for your support. We can’t wait to see you out there! The Future of Local Outdoor River Fun Over the next few years, the Town of Windsor has plans to expand this one-of-a-kind nature experience by adding river access on the south bank, creating trails and garden space, building a nature playground, making parking improvements, preserving wetlands and more.
