Helping Communities Thrive,

Big Move 3 of our strategy –Civic Leadership – recognises that schools and students thrive best when communities do.
Part of our role as a family of schools is to deliver civic impact. That’s why we established the Windsor Academy Trust Community Foundation last year—an ambitious long-term initiative to support those in our communities who need it most, through trust-wide, collective fundraising efforts.
This year’s WAT a Run event plays a vital role in accelerating those efforts, helping us move closer to our next milestone of £50,000 raised. The focus of the campaign is on improving student wellbeing, attendance and academic
readiness—by ensuring all children have access to a nutritious breakfast and a safe, comfortable bed at home.
The reality of bed poverty—families without adequate sleeping arrangements—often goes unseen, yet it has a profound impact on the health, learning and life chances of young people. Through the Community Foundation and initiatives like WAT a Run, we are committed to making a tangible, lasting difference.
We are incredibly grateful to CHG-MERIDIAN, who return as a headline sponsor for the second year running. Their continued support is accelerating our progress and helping us bring this important vision to life across our communities.
In the past two years, WAT a Run has raised over £20,000, thanks to the incredible efforts of our participants, sponsors, and community supporters.
Over 40 participants joined the run.
Funds raised: £10,000
Highlight: Completion of the inaugural event with a strong sense of community and achievement.
Thanks to our sponsors from 2023:
