Introduction

We are delighted to present to you the Windsor Olympus Academy enrichment programme for 2025/26, offering your child a fantastic chance to participate in a wide variety of activities beyond the classroom. We believe that a rich extra-curricular experience is key to nurturing each students’ talents, interests and goals. We believe in the growth of the “whole child” and in developing not onlyAcademic, but Personal Potential.

Our enrichment clubs are categorised into: Academic, Creative and Physical. Each category provides an opportunity to engage in different developmental opportunities and we encourage students to pick a minimum of one club per category.

Academic: Delve deeper into an academic subject beyond the curriculum. These clubs foster intellectual curiosity and a deeper understanding of the topic.

Creative: Explore a variety of activities such as arts, technology, debate and more. These clubs uncover new interests and develop a wide range of skills, including imagination, design and performance.

Physical: Promoting fitness and healthy lifestyle is essential for our students’ wellbeing.These clubs emphasise teamwork, leadership and sportsmanship.

We hope all students find something they enjoy and feel confident getting involved in. Enrichment activities are a fantastic way to build skills, make new friends, and grow both personally and academically.

Our Enrichment Offer

Below you will find the full extracurricular timetable for Windsor Olympus Academy, outlining the wide range of clubs and activities taking place before and after school. This timetable includes details of where each club is held, so students know exactly where to go to take part.

All clubs are completely free to attend, and there is no need to sign up in advance students can simply go along to the clubs they are interested in at the time they take place. We encourage all students to take full advantage of these opportunities, try new experiences, and enjoy learning beyond the classroom.

For sports and dance clubs, please note that while it is not a requirement to wear PE kit, we advise students to change into their PE kit at the end of the school day for comfort and ease of movement. However, students are welcome to attend in their school uniform if they prefer.

French Spelling Bee

Summary

The French Spelling Bee club helps students improve their vocabulary and spelling skills in French through fun, competitive activities. It’s a supportive environment where learners can boost their language confidence and enjoy mastering new words.

When does this club take place?

This club is open for year 7 every Monday morning before school from 7:45 - 8:10am.

What knowledge and skills can you learn?

In this club, students will develop a stronger command of French vocabulary, enhance their spelling accuracy, and improve their pronunciation. They will also practice memory and recall techniques, sharpen their listening and concentration abilities, and build confidence in speaking and competing in a second language.

Forest School and Eco Council

Summary

Forest School and Eco-Council combines outdoor learning with environmental action. Students explore nature, develop practical skills, and contribute to eco-friendly projects in our dedicated eco-hub.

Invited Homework and Wellbeing Clubs

Our SEND Homework Club provides tailored support for students with special educational needs and disabilities, helping them complete homework and develop study skills in a nurturing environment.Additionally, our Wellbeing Club provides a calm, inclusive space for students to relax, connect with others and focus on positive mental health.

When does this club take place?

SEND Homework Club -Tuesday after school from 3:10 - 4:10pm.

SEND Wellbeing Club -Thursday after school from 3:10 - 4:10pm.

What knowledge and skills can you learn?

Through Homework Club, students will receive individualised help to understand their homework and improve their organisational skills.The club also promotes self-confidence, independence in learning, and effective time management.

Through Wellbeing Club, students will explore strategies for managing stress and emotions, practice mindfulness and relaxation techniques, and take part in creative activities that boost confidence and self-esteem.The club helps students build resilience and positive relationships.

STEM Club

Summary

STEM Club brings together science, technology, engineering, and maths in hands-on projects and experiments that spark curiosity and innovation. It’s perfect for students who enjoy exploring how things work and solving real-world problems.

When does this club take place?

This club is open for all students with SEND everyTuesday after school from 3:104:10pm.

Students will build knowledge across all STEM subjects while developing key skills such as critical thinking, experimentation, teamwork, and creative problem-solving.They will also gain confidence in applying classroom knowledge to practical challenges.

Bake Off Club

Students will develop practical cooking skills, including measuring, mixing, and decorating. They will learn about food safety and hygiene, improve patience and precision, and gain confidence in following instructions and working independently or with others.

Choir Summary

Choir offers students the opportunity to develop their singing skills while enjoying the experience of performing as part of a group. It’s a welcoming space where students of all abilities can express themselves through music.

What knowledge and skills can you learn?

Students will learn how to improve their vocal technique, including breath control, pitch, and tone.They will also develop listening skills and the ability to harmonise with others. Participation in rehearsals and performances builds confidence and teamwork.

Choir Performances and Opportunities

Throughout the year, our choir will work towards three major dance and singing shows, giving students the chance to showcase their talent in front of their parents and teachers.A select group of students will also perform at a trust-wide showcase, representing the school with pride and enthusiasm at the bi-annual WATConference at the ICC.

Crochet Club

Summary

Crochet Club provides a hands-on creative experience where students learn to make various items using crochet techniques. It’s a relaxing and rewarding way to develop fine motor skills and artistic creativity.

This club is open for all year groups every Monday after school from 3:10 - 4:10pm.

What knowledge and skills can you learn?

Students will develop hand-eye coordination and improve their fine motor skills while learning to follow patterns and sequences.The club also encourages patience and attention to detail as well as creativity through design and project planning.

Poppy making for Remembrance Day

As Remembrance Day approaches, members of the Crochet Club have been busy crafting handmade poppies to support a very special cause. Each poppy is beautifully crocheted by students during their weekly club sessions, and will be sold throughout the school in the coming weeks.All proceeds will go directly to charity, supporting veterans and their families.

Dominoes Club

More than just a game, dominoes holds a special place in many communities around the world - particularly within Black and Caribbean cultures - where it is often played as a traditional pastime that brings people together across generations.

This club is open for all year groups everyThursday after school from 3:10 - 4:10pm.

What knowledge and skills can you learn?

By playing dominoes, students develop logical thinking, pattern recognition, and strategic decision-making.The club also supports turn-taking, focus, patience, and respectful social interaction. Importantly, students also gain cultural awareness by understanding the game’s historical and cultural significance in Black communities, where it has long been a symbol of community, resilience, and identity.

PE clubs are open to students of all abilities.The main aim is to get students playing and enjoying different types of sports. For some students that demonstrate exceptional skill and talent, there will be further opportunities to represent the school in fixtures and events.

Students will build on and embed the physical skills learnt in lessons as well as the rules, tactics and strategies involved in their game. In addition, they will also develop teamwork, cooperation and sportsmanship.

Multi-Sports Clubs

Our Multi-Sports clubs offer a fun and supportive environment where students can explore a variety of sports and try out new activities. Each session gives them the chance to enjoy friendly games, take on exciting challenges with their peers and teachers, and get energized for the day ahead.

Fitness Clubs

TheYear 9 Fitness Club is your chance to train in our brand-new, fully equipped fitness studio. Whether you’re looking to build strength, boost stamina, or just stay active, this club offers a variety of workouts to suit all fitness levels. It’s a great way to set personal goals, challenge yourself, and stay healthy — all in a modern, supportive environment.

Games for Girls

Games for Girls Club is all about fun, confidence, and community. It’s a space where girls can feel empowered to get active, enjoy sport, and support one another.Through taking part, students will have the chance to become role models, inspiring others to join in and help shape a positive culture around girls in sport.This club also leads into the development of ourThis Girl CanAmbassador team — a powerful group of young leaders ready to make a difference.

Basketball with City of Birmingham Rockets

Our community basketball session is a great way to improve your game, build confidence, and train in a team environment.There are also exciting opportunities to progress towards COB Rockets squad sessions outside of school for those who want to take their basketball further.

Dance Clubs

Summary

Dance Club is the perfect place to express yourself, learn new moves and have fun in a welcoming environment. Whether you’re a beginner or experienced dancer, you’ll enjoy exploring different styles, improving your skills, and performing with friends. It’s a great way to boost confidence, stay active, and unleash your creativity.

What knowledge and skills can you learn?

Physical Skills - Improve coordination and balance, strength and flexibility, rhythm and timing as well as overall health and fitness.

Mental Skills - Explore creativity and expression, build memory and confidence by performing sequences and routines.

Social Skills - Collaborate with peers to develop teamwork, communication and respect and inclusivity. Our dance club also leads towards a Dance Leaders programme.

Dance Performances and Opportunities

Throughout the year, dancers will work towards three major dance shows, giving students the chance to showcase their talent in front of their parents and teachers. Our competition team also trains for an external dance competition and a trust-wide showcase, representing the school with pride and enthusiasm at the bi-annual WATConference at the ICC.
