AUSSIE PET Benefits Of Using A Martingale Collar

About The Author I live with my partner and our three pups in the Aussie outback. We live in a stone built house in an apple grove surrounded by hills. We live off grid and my dogs are outdoors a lot of the time.

Aussie Pet Blog This site is everything about our lives with the dogs. It will be a rational insight into the ups and downs of dog ownership and the joys and sorrows that go along with it. At times difficult, at times thought provoking but hopefully most often enjoyable.

Dog Training Our land is not fenced and mostly the pups are outdoors and fortunately remain nearby to the home. They have the environment to play in but even then that sometimes isn't enough for our furry children. They still have to be naughty on a regular basis!

Martingale Dog Collar Martingale collars are designed particularly for pups with heads that are smaller than their necks. These dog collars softly tighten against the dog's neck if they pull, back up or spin around. The martingale collar gently tightens if the dog pulls or tries to back out the collar. A martingale is generally made out of fabric or nylon that creates a circle like most collars but also has a semicircular shape on the back that is formed by an additional section of the same fabric. The larger loop of the collar fits around the canine's neck and the smaller loop lies at the back of the neck and has a D-ring which connects to the lead. When relaxed, the collar fits loosely and keeps your dog comfortable. However, when the dog tries to drag, the secondary loop secures the fabric around the dog's neck for a gentle no-pull effect.
