Home collection service

Holiday pick up points

Throughout the brochure you will notice that our Home Collection Service is indicated on some of the tours. On these holidays you will be collected and returned to your home via a taxi organised by us. On these tours we operate a limited amount of pick up places ensuring that your holiday will start and end efficiently. To qualify for the free Home Collection Service you must live in the area from Poole to Lymington and south of Ferndown.

Where our Home Collection Service is not included we operate a comprehensive selection of local collection points. We only collect from the local area so there will be no waiting at motorway services for other vehicles. The vehicle that collects you will be the only vehicle you will travel on during your holiday.

DAY 1: After being collected from your local pick up point around 9.00am we have comfort stops on route as required before arriving at the hotel mid-afternoon with a mince pie to greet you! After dinner join in the Christmas quiz in the bar.

DAY 2: After your Full English breakfast we are joined by our local guide for a tour of Dartmoor. This is a wonderful excursion at any time of year with a guided tour adding much to the dramatic landscape of the National Park. Returning to the hotel to relax before a delicious Gala Christmas dinner with Santa’s Little Helpers followed by Christmas cabaret entertainment and dancing.

DAY 3: After breakfast we head off to Plymouth. An excellent destination for an excursion and site of so many important historic events including Sir Francis Drake’s escapades. We will be joined by a local guide for a coach tour which will include Plymouth Hoe, Devonport Naval Dockyard, Brunel’s magnificent Royal Albert Bridge and the Barbican area before free time in the city centre. We return to the hotel for more Festive food and fun live entertainment with a New Year Comedy Magic display with Peter Baffles.

DAY 4: Departing the hotel after breakfast and head to Exeter. Time to see the sights in the centre and have an early lunch before continuing home.

Hotel de la Mer We are delighted to be staying at this hotel again. It offers a genuine welcome from the Tillen family and is only 100m from the Cliff Railway and promenade. This 27 bedroom hotel enjoys an intimate atmosphere with a comfortable lounge and bar and friendly staff offering excellent customer service.

The hotel is very proud of its food – fresh ingredients, locally sourced.

There is a choice of menu for you to taste the difference! All bedrooms are comfortably furnished with en-suite bathrooms and TV, hairdryer and tea/coffee making.

DAY 2: After breakfast we have an excursion with a scenic drive to the historic town of Pembroke. We have included a guided tour of the magnificent medieval castle here, followed by free time to explore.

Superb value holiday whilst enjoying some of the finest scenery to be had, anywhere in Britain. The dramatic, rugged coastline of the North Devon Coast, where the cliffs seem to dive in to the sea is quite stunning and on a clear day you can see over to South Wales.

There are some terrific excursion destinations to explore, all with lovely countryside to see on route. We stay in the centre of Ilfracombe, a town which has received a noticeable boost in the last few years largely credited to the arrival of artist, Damian Hirst who lives nearby.

His giant 20 metre sculpture, Verity, has led to several galleries in the town and some lovely restaurants, bars and cafes around the authentic fishing harbour.

DAY 3: After breakfast we head off to visit the lovely fishing port of Padstow.

It’s a great place to visit with some interesting shops and plenty of places to choose from for lunch. Rick Stein’s restaurant is on the front plus he has a café in the town. Returning to the hotel to meet Santa in the evening (hooray!) followed by Christmas dinner and live entertainment.

DAY 4: We shall have a lovely drive out through the countryside to St Ives, one of the most beautiful seaside towns in the country. Renowned as a centre for art there are plenty of galleries in the town plus the renowned Tate St Ives Museum is certainly worth a look.

DAY 5: Sadly, we head home this morning, with stops as required before returning to the local area around 5.00/6.00pm.

Mid-morning, we head north to Ilfracombe, a town which has received a noticeable boost since the arrival of artist, Damian Hirst who lives nearby.

His giant 20 metre sculpture, Verity, has led to several galleries in the town and restaurants and cafes around the authentic fishing harbour. Time here for lunch before heading on to the village of Dunster, with its famous Yarn Market.

Returning to Barnstaple with views of Exmoor National Park.

DAY 5: After breakfast we head home with a lunch stop on route. Dropped back to your home around 3.00pm.

Check out the tales of spies and strategic deception.

Roses is a modern tourist resort with an amazing history dating back to the Greeks and Romans, remains of which can be seen in the huge Citadel in the centre of the town. We try to indicate all the room and hotel facilities for each hotel within the information in this brochure but cannot accept liability for any alterations made by the hotel before our arrival. Sometimes amenities such as swimming pools and lifts may be out of service whilst entertainment may be curtailed, altered or cancelled due to hotel number.

Hot drink making facilities are not normally available in Continental hotel bedrooms but are usually available at the bar/café.

When travelling abroad, you should expect the food to be served in the national custom and therefore different to British cuisine. For some hotels, particularly overnight hotels the restaurant will serve a set menu. If, when you are at the hotel, you require an alternative this is normally available but may incur an additional cost for you.

These days, many hotels are excellent at providing Special Diets. Please let us know as soon as possible so they can make preparations early.

Many meals are taken as a group in the restaurants and usually involve sharing tables with 2 or more other diners in our group.

HOLIDAY ITINERARIES AND SUITABILITY We pride ourselves on the planning of our holidays to provide an exciting and enjoyable holiday experience. Many are planned months in advance and may require adjustment to the itineraries due to changes at destinations or attractions.

Our itineraries are displayed in the brochure and you should carefully consider suitability before booking your holiday. You are, of course, quite welcome not to join any particular excursion during your holiday.

Provided we are informed before departure, we are happy to take manual walking aids and folding wheelchairs up to 15kg in weight. Unfortunately, we are not able to carry any electric wheelchairs or scooters, although these are often available to hire at the destination.

HOLIDAY CANCELLATION If we have to cancel a holiday this is always done well in advance of your departure date and a full refund is given.

Due to the contract obligations and financial commitments we have with hotels if you have to cancel your holiday you will have to pay cancellation charges.

These are based on the following scale depending on how close to departure we receive your cancellation.

More than 42 days – Deposit only 42-28 days – 30% 27-14 days – 45% 13-7 days – 60% Less than 7 days – 100% However, if you do cancel more than 42 days before your departure date we will transfer your deposit less a £10 per person administration fee to another holiday currently available.

We do advise you to take out travel insurance to cover any of your loses.
