Maltese CPA office offers variety of services Tami Maltese, CPA, CFP, opened her business in fall 1984. She is a certified public accountant, a certified financial planner and an investment advisor with HD Vest Financial Services. Her office prepares income taxes, provides investment advice and also offers the following services: cash flow and debt management, insurance and risk review, as well as retirement, education, estate and business planning. Investment and insurance products are available, and a complete financial plan can be prepared for an individual or family.

New owners take over at Kentucky Fried Chicken in 2009 2009 was a year of change for Kentucky Fried Chicken in Sidney. With new owners Harry and Linda Metz taking over in August, several updates and changes have taken place. “It’s gone really well,” Harry said. “The reaction has been very strong, and the community has patronized us very well.” One of the major changes is the business is now open seven days a week with seasonal hours of 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. The buffet, available only on Sunday’s previously, is served daily from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Changes were not only made to the hours of the business, but also the building itself. “We tore up the carpet and put in tile flooring, updated the kitchen and serving area and now have a state of the art register system,” Metz said. “We also painted part of the building.” Plans are currently under way to update the dining area including new seating and lighting. In 2009, Kentucky Grilled Chicken has come on the scene and has been a success. “It’s becoming more popular all the time,” Harry Metz said. “The people who haven’t tried it, don’t know how good it really is.” The future looks to be bright for the business. “It was a good year for us,” he said. “We’re very looking forward to another successful year in 2010.” KFC is located at 202 E.
