Lee’s Karate and Cardio Kickboxing Lee’s Karate and Cardio Kickboxing opened it’s door nearly 17 years ago and is taking home the title of best martial arts studio in the city. Lee Freeman and Otto Ameperosa, the owners of Lee’s, said the studio’s atmosphere is very family oriented rather than feeling like a business — its all inclusive for all ages, with class ranging for the child beginning level to adult classes for their parents. The studio just added a spin class to fit in with Zumba, yoga, self defense and a whole variety of classes, according to the business. The 10,00 square foot space allows for a boxing ring and birthday parties. The owners pride their business on the expansion to their new business space that they bought two years ago. Ramsey Canyon Preserve was chosen by readers for the distinction of best hiking area, under the sports and recreation category. And why not? Ramsey Canyon Preserve, in Hereford, is the “hummingbird capital of the United States.” Up to 14 species of hummingbirds are among the 150-plus species of birds on site. In October, 2015, Ramsey Canyon received its 20,000th visitor when 10-year-old Mariah Arce of Tucson signed in with her grandparents Frank and Diana Garza of Sierra Vista. The Preserve noted its highest visitor count in at least 15 years as rare birds were spotted and hardcore birders flew in from around the U.S. and Canada to get their photos. To get there, follow Highway 92 south from Sierra Vista for six miles and turn right on Ramsey Canyon Road. The preserve is four miles west of the highway at 27 E. Ramsey Canyon Road.
