Why has the Great Grocery Giveaway ad, which comes out on Wednesday of each week, gotten so big? This last week it was across the whole page and about a quarter of the way up the page. I used to fill it out, fold it over once and put it in a envelope with my coupons, now I have to fold it two or three times to get it in the envelope. We may be old and some of us may have a little seeing problem, but come on we weren’t that bad off. A reader said Lowe’s gives ALL vets a 10 percent discount. Not exactly. No Republican presidential candidate will be able to outgripe, out-spend, outpromise or out-talk Hillary Clinton. That said, I still think that her heart condition, fainting spells, broken arms, blood clots and age will diminish our chances of winning the White House in 2016. We need a female leader who talks like Hillary but is 30 years younger and not married to a lecherous ex-president. Pick up any newspaper, watch any TV channel and you see doom and gloom. Here is a very simple solution to neutralizing the Islamic terrorists. Withdraw unconditional funding, recognition, and support to Israel, in exchange Jerusalem becomes the capital of city of Israel. Announce that Palestine is now recognized as a free and independent State. Create a new country for Muslims, perhaps Libya or Nigeria so that the all Muslims can practice their own religion and invite all Muslims to come and worship just like the Jews who go to Israel. If that don’t work, pray.
February 2 It is quite comical how the idea that falling prices are somehow bad for “us� is continually pushed by this administration and its mouthpieces. It can’t be easy to create propaganda in support of such an obvious absurdity. Every consumer in the world would love nothing more than genuine price deflation. I have written many articles about my distaste for Serena Williams. Why? Serena Williams has won many grand slams against far inferior women tennis players in the history of the game. Everyone who knows the game is well aware that those puny women tennis players belong on the front cover of Vogue, not on a tennis court. What amazes me is how it is that Serena doesn’t win every grand slam event she plays in. As far as Sharapova goes, she is a Serena patsy. When she gets on the court with Serena she is so terribly frightened you can see her fear on the court.

This is just another excuse for the council to justify their actions by using this committee as a smoke screen and getting what they want.
February 2 The new hospital name is an insult to the citizens of Sierra Vista and to those of us who contributed time and money to make the hospital what it is today. I urge the hospital owners to rethink the name and change it to something with Sierra Vista in it.

February 6 Well Buena High School Board you have done it again. How many football coaches have you gone through in the past few years? The one you just picked may be lucky to last one year. He may have been a good or even a great football player back in his day, but a coach he is not. He destroyed the Tombstone High School football program. Wonder what happened to the rest of them. Did anyone check? Course maybe this is just the board’s way of getting rid of football at Buena so they don’t get blamed for it. Guess again because you hired him without doing your homework.

On Saturday, Jan. 24, my 80-year-old husband fell in our sloping driveway on Town and Country Drive. I was gone and drove home to find him on the driveway with two women who were trying to help him. A man riding a bike came over and helped us get him to his feet. He was bleeding and had his glasses imbedded in his cheek. A neighbor checked in to see if she could help. This is a public thank you to everyone who helped us. He is recuperating at home and we’re very grateful that we live in such a great city full of

February 4 The Editor’s Note at the beginning of On Your Mind states, “Comments are limited to 100 words.� On two occasions I’ve read an OYM that was well over 100 words. In one I counted 160 words. In the other I counted 167 words. How come this apparent preferential treatment by the Editor? EDITOR’S NOTE: Since the comments are anonymous, it is, by definition, not possible to provide preferential treatment. We’ll do a better job counting the number of words.
I’ve tried to be patient, thinking you’re just messing around with the layout of the newspaper and you’ll settle into something here pretty soon. But, I guess I’m going to have to let you know we find it really inconvenient when you put the puzzle on the opposite side of the paper from the Ask Dr. K column. One family member wants the Sudoku cut out so he can work on it later and another frequently saves the Ask Dr. K medical column for future reference. We can’t satisfy them both. Before this you’ve always had them in separate locations.
