SCAN ME
In the Western White Mountains, the natural splendor of New Hampshire is on full display. Mixed coniferous and deciduous forests, lush with color in the fall, beckon visitors from around the world, while a variety of man-made attractions, outdoor adventures, scenic drives, and train rides pay homage to the region’s rich history of tourism.
Prior to serving as the gateway to adventure, the western White Mountains was a hub for the logging industry. At its height in the 1800’s and early 1900’s, as many as 19 logging railroads were in operation throughout the region. With the advent of the Weeks Act in 1911 and the subsequent creation of White Mountain National Forest in 1918, a recreation paradise was born.
Today, visitors can enjoy the grandeur of the White Mountains in many ways. For a stunning drive, head east across the Kancamagus Highway, a 34.5-mile scenic stretch that connects Lincoln to Conway. Did you know the “Kanc” is the Northeast’s first National Scenic Byway?
If you feel like heading west, drive up over Kinsman Notch. This is the westernmost of the major notches in NH, and features everything from Beaver Cascades and Beaver Pond to the endlessly explorable Lost River Gorge and Boulder Caves.

LONESOME LAKE
Sugar Hill
Known as the “newest” town in New Hampshire, Sugar Hill was incorporated in 1962. Its namesake sugar maples, as well as its unparalleled views of the Franconia Range, have drawn notable past residents like actress Bette Davis and novelist Earnest Poole.
Sugar Hill is a quintessential New England village hailed for its spectacular pink and purple lupine flowers that bloom every June.
A quick note on lupine etiquette: be respectful of all posted signage, and do not trespass on private property. Avoid stepping on the blooms where walking is allowed, and no matter how tempting, please refrain from cutting any flowers to take home. Instead, leave the beautiful lupine for all to enjoy!

Franconia sits on a rich iron deposit, and the region once produced pig iron and bar iron for farm tools and cast-iron ware. It is home to the Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway and was once home to Franconia College during the 1960s and 1970s.
Franconia is the place to embrace the joie de vivre of the great outdoors. While you’re in town, stop by the Besaw Iron Furnace, an octagonal stone stack visible on the far side of the Gale River. It was built with local granite and is all that remains of a 200-year-old iron smelter.

Twin Mountain & Bretton Woods
Surrounded by the White Mountain National Forest, the towns of Twin Mountain and Bretton Woods offer year-round outdoor adventure, natural beauty, the Northeast’s highest mountain peak, and welcoming vibes thanks to their shared history of hospitality and tourism.
Twin Mountain was incorporated in 1832 as the town of Carroll, which includes the villages of Twin Mountain, Bretton Woods, Fabyans, and Crawfords. Early settlers farmed fertile soil and felled the expansive forests. Today, this area looks far different than it did when grand hotels and logging towns once populated the land.
Bretton Woods is home to the Omni Mount Washington Resort & Spa, where delegates from 44 nations convened in 1944 to establish the World Bank and International Monetary Fund. The distinctive red-roofed hotel is a destination for guests from around the world and
offers a veranda ideal for sipping a beverage while enjoying the stunning panoramic mountain views.
Just across the street from the Omni you’ll find Bretton Woods Ski Resort , which offers canopy tours, gondola riding, mountaintop dining, and more. If you’d like to summit the Northeast’s highest peak, catch a ride on the nearby Mount Washington Cog Railway
The nearby historic Crawford Path ranks as the oldest continuously maintained hiking trail in the United States. Dating back to 1819, this National Recreation Trail runs from Route 302 in Crawford Notch to the 6,288-foot summit of Mount Washington.

Historic Marker Tour
Did you know there are currently 279 historic markers in the state of New Hampshire? Tour 3 of our favorites in the Northern White Mountains, and learn all about our fascinating, and sometimes quirky, historical events.
BEECHER’S PULPIT n Carroll, NH
This relatively new marker, dedicated in July 2022, commemorates the Rev. Henry Ward Beecher, a Congregationalist clergyman, abolitionist, and proponent of women’s suffrage. While visiting the White Mountains to ease his allergy symptoms, Beecher would stand on a glacial boulder near this spot and preach to crowds of nearly 1,000 people. Located on School Street, in the parking lot of the Twin Mountain Chamber of Commerce.
BRETTON WOODS MONETARY
CONFERENCE n Bretton Woods, NH
In 1944, delegates from 44 countries met at the Mount Washington Hotel to establish regulations for the international monetary system. The meeting resulted in the creation of the International Monetary Fund and the founding of the World Bank. It set the exchange rate of currencies around the world to the value of gold. Located in the parking lot on Rte. 302, across the from the Omni Mount Washington Resort & Spa.
OTHER NEARBY HISTORIC MARKERS
n Stone Iron Furnace—Franconia, NH Just off Rte. 118, near intersection with Rte. 117 n The Crawford Family—Bretton Woods, NH Rte. 302, near the turn for the Mount Washington Cog Railway’s Base Station Road
n The Mount Washington Hotel—Bretton Woods, NH Backside of the Bretton Woods Monetary Conference sign (description above).
Located just off Rte. 302 on Glessner Road, leading up to the Forest Society North at The Rocks’ property (formerly the property of Frances Glessner Lee’s family).
Berlin & Gorham
Berlin, known as the “City that Trees Built”, was once the center of the papermaking industry in large part due to its ideal location alongside the Androscoggin River
Remnants of the logging industry can still be seen in the small rocky islands, also known as boom piers, that jut up from the river’s surface. Did you know these man-made structures divided the river so multiple paper companies could transport their logs at once?
Today Berlin and the neighboring town of Gorham offer visitors many ways to enjoy the outdoors, including hiking, snowmobiling, moose tours and kayak tours, and a bounty of ATV trails.
If you’d like to try snowmobiling or riding an ATV, rent some equipment and visit nearby Jericho Mountain State Park . Up for a hike? Head south along Route 16 to Pinkham Notch (a mountain pass that separates the Presidential Range from the Wildcat Range to the east) for a short hike to Glen Ellis Falls or Crystal Cascade. Visit page 78 for more information on Pinkham Notch.

THE GREAT NORTH WOODS
The Great North Woods is New Hampshire’s wildest region. From this remote outpost, visitors can explore the northernmost reaches of the White Mountain National Forest, where endless acres await. Take an ATV or snowmobile out on the trail. Pack up your fishing gear and head to a local pond. Kayak down a river or climb a mountain. Along the way, you just might encounter the wildlife that this part of Coos County is famed for.
Moose Alley, located along Route 3, is the place to be if you’re looking to spot one of the state’s iconic ungulates. Local tour companies offer dusk excursions specifically geared towards moose sightings. We recommend paying special attention to watery hollows along the roadway or driving along Route 16 near Lake Umbagog National Wildlife Refuge and Thirteen Mile Woods.
In addition to being home to the magnificent moose, the Great North Woods is also home to Dixville Notch, the tiny town that is first in the nation to cast its votes during the U.S. presidential election.
Can’t-miss features in the Dixville Notch area includes Beaver Brook Falls Wayside just north of Colebrook, and Table Rock , a short but steep hike offering impressive valley views. Lodging in this region ranges from backcountry camping to rural campgrounds and local inns.

The Mount Washington Valley, or simply “The Valley” as it is locally known, is a four-season outdoor recreationist’s playground. While the vast mountain landscape drew artists and city-dwellers here in the 1800’s, it continues to attract visitors from all over the world for skiing, shopping, rock climbing, hiking, and photo-taking.
Along with incredible mountain backdrops, the Valley is home to pristine lakes for paddling and winding rivers for tubing and wildlife watching.
Other local highlights include Whitaker Woods (a peaceful 4-season trail system owned by the town of Conway), Echo Lake State Park (a perfect spot for swimming and admiring the rocky views of Cathedral Ledge), and plenty of places for dining and tax-free shopping.
What about covered bridges? As an introduction, we’d recommend the Jackson Honeymoon Covered Bridge and the Swift River Covered Bridge; visit page 103 to find the rest!

Passing through Intervale? Visit the 3.8-acre Abenaki Indian Shop and Camp on the northern end of Intervale Cross Road. This seasonal site, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was originally established by Abenaki leader Chief Joseph Laurent in 1884 to sell handmade baskets and wares to visitors.
Along the eastern edge of New Hampshire, placed cozily between the Lakes Region and the White Mountains, is the historic town of Tamworth. This enclave, founded in 1766, encompasses the villages of Chocorua, Tamworth, South Tamworth, Whittier, and Wonalancet. Won’t you join us for a ride?
The Tamworth area is laced with rich history along every mile of its winding roads. Take your time traveling past stones walls, old churches, and pretty farmland; along the way, you just might spot the historic marker in Wonalancet detailing the origins of the hardy Chinook sled dog (New Hampshire’s state dog).
Did you know Grover Cleveland, America’s 22nd and 24th president, held a summer home on Cleveland Hill Road?
It’s little wonder why so many are still drawn to this part of the White Mountains. All one needs to do is take a look at the commanding view of Lake Chocorua and Mount Chocorua, right off Route 16. This is one of the most photographed spots in America! Pull over, grab your camera, and take a stroll along the wooden bridge to capture your own likeness.

Jackson, Glen, Bartlett & Intervale
The Jackson Covered Bridge, affectionately known as the “Honeymoon Bridge”, is an iconic covered bridge at the entrance to Jackson Village. With its bright red paint job, it is one of the most photographed covered bridges in the state. On a starry summer night, residents and visitors dance the night away on the covered bridge during the Annual Covered Bridge Dance.
Other landmarks include Living Shores Aquarium (a year-round adventure with over 32,000 square feet to explore) and Story Land (a classic theme park filled with storybook characters and family-friendly rides). In the summer of 2024, Story Land added a brand-new attraction: Moo Lagoon! From slides and silly sprayers to farm-themed fountains and more, there’s no better way to cool off than a day spent splashing at this awesome water play area.

NEW HAMPSHIRE HISTORICAL SOCIETY
Stay safe, have fun, and protect our outdoors for generations to come.
These four core principles are the tools needed to care for yourself and New Hampshire. Learn them, and pass them on.
OUR HISTORY
Pre-colonization: Several Native American tribes–including the Abenaki, Penacook, and Wabanaki–made the White Mountains their home. Many geological features still bear Native names including the Pemigewasset River, the Kancamagus Highway, and Mount Chocorua.
Late 1700’s: The Crawford family settled in what is now known as Crawford Notch. They provided food and accommodations for early travelers, and created roads, turnpikes, and the Crawford Path (the oldest continuously maintained hiking trail in the United States).
Mid 1800’s: The White Mountain School of Painters began traveling to the area, inspired by the beauty of the region. Thomas Cole arrived in 1827, followed by Benjamin Champney, David Johnson, and Mary Safford.
Logging barons, such as J.E. Henry, logged much of the White Mountains and built mill towns and railroads to accommodate the logging operations. In Lincoln, there is still evidence of the old mill.
Railroads were not just for logging anymore. Rail travel for tourists from Boston and Concord, NH made it easy for city folk to visit the White Mountains.
1861: The Mt. Washington Auto Road opened as a carriage road. In 1912, it formally switched from horses to motors. Today, it is America’s Oldest Man-Made Attraction, hosting more than 45,000 vehicles annually.
1869: The world’s first mountain climbing cog railway, the Mount Washington Cog Railway, was built.
Late 1800’s-Early 1900’s: At the height of their popularity, there were 30 or so “Grand Hotels” in the White Mountains. Today, four remain: the Omni Mount Washington Hotel, the Eagle Mountain House, the Mountain View Grand, and the Wentworth.
1911: Congressman John W. Weeks introduced a bill that was signed into law by President Taft. The Weeks Act authorized the federal government to purchase land to be protected and preserved as national forest territory. Under this law, the White Mountain National Forest was formed and nearly 800,000 acres have been preserved.
1938: The Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway is the first passenger aerial tramway in North America, carrying passengers to Cannon’s 4,080’ summit.
1959: The Kancamagus Highway got its start in the 1800’s as two unconnected dirt roads and was opened to through traffic in 1959. The Kanc was paved in 1964, opened for winter traffic in 1968, and designated a National Scenic Byway in 1996.
2003: On May 3, Franconia Notch’s iconic Old Man of the Mountain crumbled. Today, visitors can glimpse the former profile at the Profile Plaza and Historic Site.

The Kancamagus National Scenic Byway connects the towns of Lincoln and Conway across 34.5 miles of gorgeous scenery, including part of White Mountain National Forest. Remember to purchase your $5 parking pass at your first stop on the Kanc; most parking areas have a self-service, cash-only fee station on site.

Greeley Ponds
This easy to moderate 4.4-mile trail leads to two pretty ponds ringed by mountains. Some hikers take the trail all the way to Waterville Valley, but most typically stop at the second pond and retrace their steps back to the Kanc after enjoying a pondside picnic.
Lower Falls
At this popular swimming and sunbathing spot, the Swift River cascades over granite rocks into a large pool. Lower Falls features an 80-car parking lot, restrooms, and picnic tables with grills. Keep in mind that alcohol is prohibited, and that the rocks can be dangerously slick.

TALK WITH A RANGER
Take it from us—talking with a White Mountain National Forest ranger is one of the best ways to get the lay of the land. Check out Renee Plourde’s favorite hikes, as well as her need-to-knows for any hiker hitting the trail.
“One of the most important things you can do to prepare for a hike is to conduct research ahead of time.
Think about how far you want to go, how much elevation gain you are comfortable with, and any special considerations like water crossings or terrain type. There are several great guidebooks, maps and online resources to get started and then you can always reach out to a Forest Service ranger like me!
Check the weather before your trip and let someone know your plans. Hiking is fun and rewarding, and being prepared is the first step in staying safe in the White Mountains.”

Welch-Dickey Loop
Trail
This 4.4-mile loop trail near Waterville Valley offers great views of the southern part of the White Mountain National Forest. The open slabs on Welch Mountain are a signature part of this hike; be sure to tackle the loop in a counter-clockwise direction to safely ascend the slabs (rather than trying to hike down this challenging section). Middle and North Sugarloaf
This hike offers beautiful views from two rocky summits. Enjoy the glacial erratic boulders and stone steps found along the way, and be prepared to climb a wood ladder to reach the summit of Middle Sugarloaf. East Rattlesnake Mountain (via Old Bridle Path and Ridge Trail) 2.9 miles out and back n EASY
Many people go up the easy trail to West Rattlesnake but never wander over to East Rattlesnake. Take the relatively steep, loamy ridge path that connects West to East Rattlesnake for beautiful views of Squam Lake. This is one trail we frequently take plastic bags on to pick up trash on the popular West Rattlesnake trail.
Plymouth Mountain (via Southerland Trail) n 4 miles round trip n MODERATE
The best part of this hike? On a good day, you can see right up to Franconia Notch from the Pike’s Peak lookout; on a perfect day, Mount Washington even makes an appearance! My daughter loves this hike for the rolling uphill. The woods here are almost like walking through a fairy tale in the summer with the full green leaves, ferns, and flowers. Tempting as the blossoms might be, remind your kids to Leave No Trace during their travels.
East Pond Trail to Little East Pond 4 miles n MODERATE
The trail to East Pond is sculpted for mountain bikes; once you arrive at the shores, look for moose on the far side of the pond. From there, the trail over to Little East Pond is a typical path you will find in the Whites: rocks, roots, and forest dirt. We will pack a lunch for Little East, eating while our feet soak in the pond. Keep an eye out for tadpoles and frogs! The walk out is a slight downhill on a carriage-style road.

Get ready to embark on nature’s Stairmaster! The last half mile is very steep and rocky, but the view from the top is more than worth it. You'll see the Presidential Range, the AMC Highland Center and Crawford Notch.
Bald Peak n 4.4 miles roundtrip n MODERATE
Take the Mt. Kinsman Trail to Bald Peak in Easton, NH for a steady incline hike that is great for beginners. The summit views of the Kinsmans and Mount Moosilauke are incredible! There are 3 small creek crossings that may be tricky after a lot of rainfall, so keep that in mind.
Lonesome Lake (via Cascade Brook Trail)
4.9 miles roundtrip n MODERATE
This is a great, much less crowded way to get up to Lonesome Lake (plus you get the bonus of checking out The Basin at the start). Enjoy a beautiful cascading brook and some waterfalls along the way. Be prepared for 2 water crossings.
ascending Middle Sister. Combine the Carter Ledge Trail with a descent down the Piper Trail and a short road walk for an invigorating loop.
Madison Gulf
9.4 miles round trip n VERY DIFFICULT
Easily the most challenging way up Mount Madison, this hike passes by a picturesque waterfall before leading to a series of scrambles up the steep headwall of the gulf before emerging just below the summit of Madison. Take the Parapet Trail to descend down Osgood, or continue to the summit of Mount Madison!
Huntington Ravine
8.5 miles round trip n EXTREMELY DIFFICULT
Commonly referred to as the most challenging trail in the White Mountains, this trail is every bit as mentally tough as it is physically. Huntington Ravine involves a significant amount of scrambling on exposed slabs with very little room for error. As you traverse this exceedingly steep terrain, prepare for breathtaking views from the top. To continue your loop, connect with the Nelson Craig Trail to summit Mount Washington, and then descend down Lion Head back to Tuckerman Ravine.
Nestled in the White Mountains, The Rocks is a year-round destination with a visitor center and family-friendly activities across 1,400 acres.

MOUNT WASHINGTON
The peak of Mount Washington was first observed by European explorers from the Atlantic Ocean in 1524.
Known to Native Americans as Agiocochook , the summit was believed to be the home of the Great Spirit.
Nowadays, by foot, car, or train, the 6,288' summit of Mount Washington is surprisingly accessible. Home to Mount Washington State Park, it is visited by more than 250,000 people each year from all over the world who come to revel in the top-of-the-world views of New England, New York, and Canada. On a clear day, even the Atlantic Ocean is visible!
The first footpath to the summit was carved out by Ethan Allen Crawford in 1819. Today, the Crawford Path is the oldest continuously maintained footpath in the country, and a
portion of the Appalachian Trail follows the same route across Mount Washington. Visitors can summit the mountain two different ways: by boarding the Mount Washington Cog Railway, the world’s first mountain climbing cog railroad (departing from the western side of the mountain), or driving up the Mt. Washington Auto Road via personal vehicle or a guided stage coach tour (starting from the eastern side of the mountain).
Mount Washington is the highest peak in the Northeast and its weather is variable year-round. The record high temperature is 72°F; the record low is -47°F – without factoring in the wind chill!
With an average July temperature of 54°F, summer visitors can get a respite from warmer temperatures in the valleys below. When you come, plan to bring a jacket and sturdy shoes. And don’t forget your camera!
MT. WASHINGTON
BY THE NUMBERS
The primary summit building was designed to withstand 300 mph winds; other structures are literally chained to the mountain.
In April 1934, the observatory recorded a 231-mile-per-hour wind that remains a world record for a land-based weather station. The average temperature on the summit is 27.5 degrees Fahrenheit (-3C)

The White Mountain NATIONAL FOREST RECREATION PASS
The White Mountain National Forest is one of the most heavily used National Forests in the country. With that use comes a large workload to maintain the recreation facilities. As a result, a program is in place to collect fees for recreational use.
All unattended vehicles parked on National Forest land must display a Recreation Pass where signed. Pass options include a $5 day pass available onsite, and a $30 single or $40 household annual pass for those who use the Forest year-round. Recreation Passes are available at area businesses, USFS Information Centers, and the White Mountains Visitor Center. For those holding the America the Beautiful Pass, Access Pass, and Senior Pass, parking is free.
Note: prices are subject to change.

Top Five Things
for
a
more enjoyable Fall Foliage Visit in the White Mountains.
Plan Ahead
Check attraction and activity websites before visiting to make sure you have up to date information, and to purchase advance online admissions.
Visit Mid-Week If your schedule allows, plan a visit mid-week; you may find that you have an overlook, trail, or roadway mostly to yourself.
Take the Roads Less Traveled To avoid the congestion that sometimes happens along busier routes, consider one of our “roads less traveled” for a more enjoyable autumn foliage experience. Head down a side road such as Rte. 112 West through Kinsman Notch, Rte. 118 in Warren, Rte. 113 in Sandwich, or Rte. 2 in Randolph and Jefferson. All are stunning at this time of year—and have less traffic!
Pack Your Patience Take a deep breath and enjoy our fresh mountain air and the scent of crisp fall leaves. Enjoy the fact that you’re in the White Mountains and soak in the beauty around you. Staffing shortages exist, and some businesses may have modified operating hours. Pack your patience along with your toothbrush and camera!
Be Safe and Respectful When visiting the White Mountains, please be mindful of your surroundings. Stay on the trail and leave only footprints when taking a hike. If you carry something into a park or attraction, be sure to carry it out. Familiarize yourself with the rules when it comes to camping and ask questions if you don’t know the answers. Be careful around water and on steep ledges—no Instagram post is worth hurting the environment or yourself. Respect the beauty of nature that surrounds you, as well as the staff at your favorite restaurants, breweries, hotels, and attractions.

EXPLORE THE OUTDOORS
The White Mountains is filled with unique ways to get outside. Take a guided snowmobile tour, experience the charm of a horse-drawn sleigh ride, or sign up for the thrill of a lifetime with a dogsled adventure. While you’re at it, add snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, ice skating, and tubing to your list, plus winter walks like The Dells in Littleton and Quincy Bog in Rumney.
ATTEND AN EVENT
The sun might set extra early this time of year, but it’s easy to brighten things up with a local event! The White Mountains welcomes one and all with winter fetes and holiday traditions spanning the colder months. Explore a festival devoted to all things chocolate, or check out a snow sculpting competition. Visit a castle made entirely of ice and sparkling LED lights, or enjoy other ways to light up the night like torchlight parades, fireworks displays, and tree lightings.
STAY COZY INDOORS
Shed some layers and snuggle up to fun indoor activities! Ease into the morning at a toasty warm café, then explore a museum or wander through galleries showcasing local art. Next, choose your adventure—shop at charming local stores, enjoy a tasting at a brewery, winery, or distillery, or catch a show at one of our historic theaters. Did you spend part of the day skiing? Unwind in the afternoon with a restorative spa session!

BRETTON WOODS
SPRING THINGS
Spring in the White Mountains – what is it like? We have our fair share of blooming flowers and sunny strolls, but our neck of the woods also has another name for this time of year: mud season. Expect snow, mud, and all types of weather if you visit mid-March to mid-June, plus far fewer crowds and plenty of fun to be found!
Sample syrup during NH Maple Month. In March, visit a local sugarhouse to learn how tree sap is made into maple syrup!
Shop around town. Go on a tax-free spree to spruce up your wardrobe and your home. Page 119
Watch a waterfall. Keep a safe distance and enjoy the views of our waterfalls roaring anew thanks to all the melting snow. Page 102
Take a walk in the woods. Try a shorter trail and pack microspikes in case you encounter late-season ice.
To make the most of your trip, pack sensibly and plan ahead. Bring plenty of layers and sturdy waterproof shoes that you don’t mind getting dirty, and call around before you hop in the car to make sure your preferred restaurants, shops, and activities will be open during your visit (as many small businesses use this quiet time of year to prep for the White Mountains’ busiest season).
Planning a hike? Keep in mind that winter at higher elevations can last all the way from September through May. Pack accordingly, and only hike when it is safe and smart to do so. Page 107.
Mountains
Hit the slopes. Soft snow, warmer temps, shorter lift lines, and special events are a hallmark of spring skiing.
Sip your way through spring. Sample the best pours with cidery, winery, brewery, and distillery tours.

VISIT OUR ATTRACTIONS
Don a poncho and get to playing! Our major attractions (pgs. 8-18) don’t require sun to have fun. Our recommendation? Plan your adventure based on your preference for sopping wet vs. staying totally dry. Mostly outdoor activities, like Polar Caves, Clark’s Bears, or Cranmore Mountain Resort, certainly call for good footwear and an adventurous spirit on damp days, while others, like Living Shores Aquarium, the Conway Scenic Railroad, and Granite State Scenic Railway, are perfect for raindrop dodgers.
Or … embrace the forecast! Go all-in on wet days and hot temperatures with a waterpark visit. We love sliding and splashing our way through Whale’s Tale Water Park, Moo Lagoon at Story Land, and Polar Paradise at Santa’s Village.
TOUR A MUSEUM
From antique conveyances at the Mt. Washington Auto Road’s Douglas A. Philbrook Red Barn Museum (Gorham) to unique diversions like the American Classic Arcade Museum at FunSpot (Weirs Beach), our museums will take you on a tour through time. Other notable stops include the Enfield Shaker Museum in Enfield (make sure to explore the Great Stone Dwelling!), the Museum of the White Mountains in Plymouth, Castle in the Clouds in Moultonborough, and the New England Ski Museum’s two locations in Franconia Notch State Park and North Conway.
GO GALLERY HOPPING
The beauty of the White Mountains has inspired artists for generations. Why not go gallery hopping across the region in search of a stunning souvenir? Paintings, pottery, wood carvings, and blown glass are just the start of locally made wares waiting to be to be discovered. We recommend touring WREN Local Works Marketplace and Gallery (Bethlehem), the League of NH Craftsmen’s various locations (including Littleton, North Conway, and Center Sandwich), and Artistic Roots in Plymouth as a start.
