Located on Brackenber Moor, the course at Appleby Golf Club Course is renowned throughout Cumbria and beyond. The high quality of the greens and firm fairways which drain very well, are a big attraction for travelling golfers each year.

A par 68 which measured 5,998 yards from the championship white tees, Appleby golf course has a reputation as being a fantastic winter golf course and in fact, the fairways are presented as well during the winter as they are in the summer months.

Stunning panoramic views can be enjoyed from the course and the clubhouse building as the splendour to the North Pennines, the Howgills and the Lake District stretch out across the landscape surrounding the golf club.

The well-appointed Appleby clubhouse has been extended and refurbished over the years and today offers a wonderfully-appointed dining room, well-stocked bar, television lounge and snooker room. Whilst, the comfortable Gilf Pearson Lounge overlooks the eighteenth green and offers fantastic views whilst relaxing pre or post round.

With a Cumbrian welcome received by all, the clubhouse offers a variety of snacks, meals and drinks throughout the week. Each week, Appleby Golf Club also serves a hugely popular Sunday Carvery which is popular with members and visitors to the club.

Founded in 1892 with the help of Railway Company money, the Silloth course was originally designed by Davy Grant and has since evolved, with contributions from classic golf course architects, Dr Alister Mackenzie and Willie Park Jnr.

Located in one of the most pictuesque areas of England in the Cumbrian countryside and at the mouth of the Solway firth, Silloth’s fairways meander through the mature dune flora reminiscent of true links-style golf courses with tough, true greens providing a true test of links golf.

With spectacular views across the firth, overlooking the Scottish Borders and Lake District, the blooming heather and patches of gorse that is in abundance make Silloth’s rolling fairways a safe haven. The clubhouse at Silloth was designed by Carlisle architect and club member, Walter Gibbings in 1903 was extended in 1908. Today, it retains a period atmosphere in-keeping with the true character of the Club and golf course.

Seascale Golf Club
