DESIGN STATEMENT JACQUEMUS FLAGSHIP STORE
JACQUEMUS FLAGSHIP STORE WILL BE AN HOMAGE TO SYDNEY’S LOVE OF WATER AND DRAW PARRAELL CONNECTIONS TO THE FRENCH BRANDS ORIGINS OF MARSIELLE AND PROVENCE-ALPES-CÔTE D’AZUR REGION. CREATING A SPACE THAT PROMOTES A VISCERAL FEELING OF A FRENCH SUMMER HOLIDAY AND TRANSPORTING THE CUSTOMER TO ANOTHER DESTINATION.
THE SPACE WILL FOCUS ON THE RETAIL JOURNEY AND HOW THE CUSTOMER MOVES AROUND THE SPACE. FOCUSSING ON THE FLOW OF PRODUCT DISPLAY AND ECCLECTIC ITEMS OF UNIQUE INTEREST WITH THE INTENTION TO GRAB THE CUSTOMERS ATTENTION, NATURALLY GRAVITATING AND MOVING THROUGH THE STORE WITH A SENSE OF DISCOVERY.
THE STORE FRONT FEATURES CLASSIC GEORGIAN STYLE RETAIL DISPLAY WINDOWS THAT OFFERS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO SEE INTO THE STORE AND USE THE LEFT ENTRY WALL AS A FOCAL POINT. I WILL BE USING THIS WALL TO FEATURE JACQUEMUS ICONIC LEATHER GOODS WHICH ARE PRODUCED IN VARIOUS SHAPES AND VIBRANT COLOURS. THIS FEATURE WALL WILL HOST A UNIQUE TEXTURAL WALL TILE EMULATING THE INSIDE OF A POOL, WHILE PAIRED WITH A STONE FLOOR THAT CREATES A SENSORY FEELING OF BEING BY THE POOL.
THE ENTRY STONE FLOOR WILL CREATE A PATHWAY LIKE PATTERN AND PLAY INTO THE SYMMETRY OF THE EAST WALL CURVED ARCH WINDOWS; DRAWING THE CUSTOMERS EYES UP TOWARDS THEM WITH THE NATURAL LIGHT AND HIGH CEILINGS.
EACH DISPLAY CONSOLE, RACK OR FURNITURE ITEM WILL BE SCULPTURAL IN NATURE AND ADD TO THE CUSTOMER JOURNEY WITH POCKETS OF INTEREST. THE OVERALL MATERIALITY WILL MODERNISE THE CLASSIC GEORGIAN FEATURES OF THE EXISTING SITE AND INTRODUCED ELEMENTS WILL BE PLAYFUL, YOUTHFUL AND QUIRKY IN NATURE TO COMPLIMENT THE BRAND.
