‘morning breath’ is a selfish exploration of the inner emotions shown outward, the overwhelming consumption and damage grief can deliver upon oneself. taking inspiration from victorian era mourning attire, which correlated with the public display of mourning and grief, through fashion. ideas of colour, silhouette and fabrication from the mourning attire period are directly adhered to in the collection. in marriage with the conceptualisation of personal experiences of grief with uses of textural pieces, gathering and layering to create weight and tightness in practice and emotionally. the morning breath collection encapsulates these notions with an overarching focus on creating pieces of art that invite the wearer to reflect on and confront their grief.
