Corpus Null is a fashion collection that explores fragmented identity and the urge to conceal one’s self. Inspired by the theory of “dehumanization” in art by José Ortega y Gasset, the collection captures the extraction of human essence within art through the uncanny symbolism of dolls and cyborgs.
Blurring the line between human and machine, the designs feature anatomical seamwork, modular panelling, corsetry and asymmetry to mimica synthetic, disjointed body. Neutral tones contrast with navy and metallics to
signal tension between softness and control. Echoing Gucci’s Cyborg FW18/19 collection (Yatzer, 2018), the silhouettes emphasize emotional distance through utility pockets, panelled detailing, and jointed shapewear that evoke a modular body.
Self protection becomes a performance within this collection, not a return to authenticity but an exploration of what remains when reality is stripped away. Therefore questioning whether masks are shields or if they’ve already become your skin.
