While Whistler Village is the primary hub for most of the resort’s amenities, Creekside is where the town cemented its place in history. It is the birthplace of Whistler’s skiing legacy, where the lifts first spun on Whistler Mountain in 1966.
The neighborhoods of Whistler South extend from Nordic to the southernmost areas of Cheakamus Crossing and Function Junction. The housing options are equally diverse, ranging from cozy condos to stylish chalets, rustic cabins to spacious townhomes, and even a community of luxury homes accessible by gondola.
The recently upgraded Creekside Gondola is a gateway to Whistler Mountain during the ski season and the renownedBike Park throughout the summer.Minutes from the Creekside base, you’ll find two top-rated restaurants, Rimrock Café, and Red Door Bistro, alongside lushparks on the shores of Alpha Lake and Nita Lake.
There are numerous reasons why Whistler South stands out as one of the fastest-growing areas in Whistler, and the unbeatable combination of convenience and amenities is chief among them. Year after year, residents of the Southside take pride in their little slice of Whistler.
Kadenwood Chalet
A Contemporary Architectural Marvel in the Mountains: 2932 Ancient Cedars Lane
Whistler is recognized across the globe for its breathtaking mountain setting, pristine natural environment, and connectivity to outdoor adventure. What makes the resort truly exceptional amongst international destinations is its unwavering standard for world-class architecture, industry-leading design, and meticulous craftsmanship.
“A lot of what drives the high-end resort market anywhere in the world is exactly that,” explains John Ryan of Whistler Real Estate Company. “In Whistler, you will find traditional lodge-style homes coexisting seamlessly with ultra-modern mountain-contemporary design. International-calibre architects, combined with the talent of local builders, ensure that each home is incredibly unique and special in its own way.”
It is no surprise that Whistler’s coveted luxury estate-neighbourhood of Kadenwood is home to the exquisite mountain-contemporary design of the 6,326 square foot chalet at 2932 Ancient Cedars Lane.
An architectural marvel, the seven-bedroom, ninebathroom residence is the result of a collaboration between renowned architect Brent Murdoch, visionary craftsman Brian Gavan of Gavan Construction, and the accomplished design team at project22design. Accommodating the distinctive cantilevered upper volume of the home, as well as a high snow loading capacity due to the elevation of the slopeside residence, required complex structural considerations resulting in a sophisticated modern silhouette that integrates seamlessly with the natural environment.
Masterfully positioned to embrace the southwest exposure of the lot, the home and outdoor living areas are gently flooded with the warmth and natural light of the sun in the afternoons. Outdoor livingis integral to the experience of the residence, with heated patiosleading to a private outdoor pool and hot tub, as well as a Sonos sound system that allows for e ortless transition between spaces. Set against the rugged beauty of the British Columbia landscape, a dramatic rock face surrounds the outdoor areas, o ering both privacy and a sense of intimacy— strikingly juxtaposedwith the home's grand and expansive spaces.
The interiors are augmented by high-end custom finishings including warm Hemlock ceilings, polished concrete floors, and 10” wide European White Oak flooring. Adding a subtle extravagance to every room within the home, the expansive windows allow ample natural light to accentuate the home’s features. Panoramic views of the Tantalus Rangeand surrounding peaks are beautifully framed by the oldgrowth coastal rainforest that surrounds the nearly half acre lot. Finer details include triple-pane Cascadia windows for energy e iciency, and the simple luxuries of radiant in-floor heating, a Lutron HomeWorks lighting system, and remote controls for blinds, heating, and cooling.
The residence is designed with the entertainer in mind, with a layout that boasts multiple gathering spaces, a media room, and a showstopping wine cellar and tasting roomthat blends industrial minimalism with elements of nature, grounding the home in its mountainside location.
A stunning chef’s kitchen features Gaggenau appliances, Shinnoki Oak custom millwork, and Caesarstone quartz countertops for an added sense of opulence.
Two primary bedrooms with ensuites make the home an ideal mountain retreat, not only for entertaining, but for gathering among family and friends to embrace the experience of alpine living. The upperlevelprimary suite steps out onto a private, heated outdoor patio, placing emphasis on year-round indoor-outdoor living. An elevator services all levels of the home, including the oversized double garage complemented by a large boot room ensuring ample storage for every accessory.
Resting peacefully above it all, the exclusive Kadenwood neighbourhood is truly one-of-a-kind, and theperfect setting forthe spectacular 2932
Ancient Cedars Lane home. “It o ers direct ski-inski-out access,” adds Ryan, “its own private gondola, zoning for nightly rentals, which is very rare, and an incredible continuity of high-end residences throughout.” The private gondola caters solely to Kadenwood residentsyear-round, transporting homeowners and their guests to and from the charming Creekside Village in just a few minutes. The gondola provides access to groceries, dining, and elevated shopping, allowing for an authentic contemporary chalet experience—quietly nestled in the mountains—without sacrificing privacy for proximity to amenities.

Considering purchasing a property in Whistler as an investment opportunity with the intention of renting it out? You will encounter some unique property covenants designed to bolster the supply of tourist accommodations in Whistler, including two key designations; Phase 1 and Phase 2 properties. While Phase 1 and Phase 2 property types have some general rules that apply to them, there are always nuances and exceptions to those rules, so it is important to work with your local real estate agent to help you navigate the Whistler landscape.
PHASE PROPERTIES
With a Phase 1 property, the owner has unlimited use. Generally speaking, this means the owners can occupy the property yearround or can choose to rent it out either on a nightly or longerterm basis. Phase 1 properties are typically townhouses and some condos throughout Whistler Village and the Benchlands. Based on the details of the covenants, if the property is not owner-occupied, it may need to be made available for rental. Strata rules may also require you to use a particular rental management company.
QUICK FACTS
You can occupy the property on a full-time basis
You can rent the property on a nightly, weekly, monthly basis (e.g. Airbnb)
PHASE PROPERTIES
Phase 2 property usage is much more restrictive. The owner owns the property in full, but owner use is generally restricted to 28 days in summer and 28 days in winter. The owner must book their personal use days in advance and place the property in the rental pool, which is managed according to the strata and chosen rental management company, for the rest of the time. Phase 2 properties are typically located in hotel complexes such as The Four Seasons Resort Whistler, The Westin, Whistler Village Delta Inn and Suites, and the Pan Pacific hotels. Depending on the property, revenues from rental may be pooled or individual and prices of these properties may vary greatly depending on rental management approach and revenues.
QUICK FACTS
Cannot occupy the property full-time - basic allotment for owner use of the property is up to 28 days in the summer season and up to 28 days in the winter season

With a new master-planned community, Elevate at Sunstone is at the heart of Pemberton’s residential o erings, thoughtfully designed to preserve the area’s natural beauty while o ering modern, spacious, low-density housing.
Why People Are Choosing Pemberton
For those considering Pemberton as their next home or recreational retreat, the reasons are clear. Life here balances outdoor adventure and a peaceful community without sacrificing convenience or comfort. While Pemberton o ers many of the outdoor draws of Whistler, it does so at a gentler pace—and without the premium price tag.
Residents appreciate that Pemberton "has a soul and immediately was the correct choice," as one homeowner shared, describing how the town feels "so much further than 25 minutes from Whistler in vibe and culture." This intentional lifestyle, evident in the community's close connection to nature and farm-to-table practices, has made it a natural fit for those seeking a lifestyle that values preservation alongside progress. Another homeowner described it as “a slower paced, family-friendly environment, welcoming, friendly, and calm, with a heavy option for adventure,” capturing Pemberton’s unique balance of relaxation and excitement.
Small-Town Spirit and Vibrant Community
Pemberton has a long-established community where people know their neighbours, and residents care deeply about local culture and nature. Moving to Pemberton is like stepping into a di erent world, where local farms o er fresh produce year-round, neighbours gather at markets and events, and families feel at home. One resident shared “we are living an extremely active lifestyle here in Pemberton, and even though we have only been here two years, we very much feel a part of the community.” Local businesses and attractions, like North Arm Farm, provide fresh produce and community events, while places like The Beer Farmers brewery bring residents together for fresh craft brews and live music. One Elevate homeowner shared that the local eateries in Pemberton "genuinely surpass what [they’ve] found anywhere across Toronto, Canada, and even in Paris." From Blackbird Bakery to Pemberton Bread Co., the quality of food and community vibe is unmatched.
Another key amenity in Pemberton and in the Sunstone community is the Sunstone Golf Club. Owners of Elevate duplexes or singlefamily lots at Sunstone receive two Adult Golf Memberships for 2 years as part of their homeownership, adding tremendous value to the lifestyle o erings within the community. The golf club provides a scenic and social focal point for residents, and the purchase of the club by Sunstone developers further demonstrates their commitment to enhancing amenities for residents and visitors alike. The Sunstone developers have also been active participants in the supportive and lively community in Pemberton by contributing to various local infrastructure projects like the new recreation site, the Friendship Trail and Sunstone to Lake Trail and their sponsorship of other recreational events including the Pemberton Barn Dance in 2023 and 2024.
Year-Round Outdoor Adventures
Pemberton is an outdoor lover’s paradise in the heart of BC’s natural beauty. Winter brings world-class skiing, snowboarding, and snowmobiling, all within minutes of your doorstep. As the snow melts, the landscape transforms into a haven for hiking, mountain biking, fishing, and paddling, with endless trails and lakeside activities. The fully funded Sunstone to Lake trail, a multi-use trail, marked with wayfinding signs, a gravel surface and some challenging gradients, running from Sunstone to Mosquito Lake was fully funded by the Sunstone developers, and is actively maintained by the Pemberton Valley Trails Association. The new 7km multi-use Friendship Trail also within the Sunstone community, connects the neighbourhood to Pemberton Village, and the Sunstone to Lake trail providing easy access to alpine lakes, giving outdoor enthusiasts the freedom to explore some of BC’s most scenic spots right from home.
One resident noted, “Our family loves to be outside! We frequent the pump track, soccer field, the local breweries, and many walking trails. Living in Elevate keeps us close to many of these attractions as some are within walking distance.” Another shared that “the mountain biking is incredible, and access at Elevate is ideal,” showcasing how the community’s layout and proximity to trails perfectly support an active, outdoor-focused lifestyle.
Sunstone: A Master-Planned Community that Fits the Landscape
Spanning multiple phases, Sunstone promises both current and future residents a variety of housing options that respect the landscape, with no high-rises and ample green space surrounding each home. Located on a south-facing slope that remains out of the flood plain, Sunstone is designed to maximize views while protecting the environment and the privacy of its residents.
For buyers looking for a quality-built home with an active mountain lifestyle, Elevate at Sunstone provides unparalleled value. One new resident shared “we weren’t sure how much we would like living in a duplex, coming from a single-family home in Whistler, but the design, quality, and floorplan work so well with our lifestyle.” With only six remaining units, these move-in-ready duplexes o er the space and features, and design of a single-family home. Thoughtfully built by TM Builders, Elevate showcases the finest in contemporary mountain living. Homeowners appreciated that the developer went "above and beyond" with high-end finishes and features like automated window coverings, provided at no extra cost. "Having owned a few new builds and a custom home over our lives, we were shocked by the level of included design and finish. The street looks fantastic and will stay that way.”
"The view is spectacular," said another resident, "but we were equally drawn to the modern, custom-home-level design."
The homes’ expansive windows and integration with the community perfectly combine elegance with functionality. Another homeowner shared that “the windows and open views were one of the main attractants for us when searching for a home.
Beyond that, the size was right for our growing family, and having a garage is obviously a huge bonus!” Families are excited about the area’s family-friendly environment and the opportunity to “raise our kids on this street.”
High-Quality Design and Mountain Views
Elevate has been designed to take full advantage of its stunning surroundings. Each home features large windows that frame mountain views, with open-concept living spaces inviting natural light and spectacular views with expansive decks. With over 2,200 square feet of space and 480+ square feet of outdoor living space, these duplexes feel more like single-family homes, o ering the best value in Pemberton and making them an attractive alternative to Whistler’s far higher price points. An inspiring blend of modern design and style, this collection of contemporary duplexes is set to elevate your living.
Each duplex is built to accommodate active lifestyles, with ample storage for outdoor gear and large double-car garages designed for mountain bikes, skis, and more. “The garage is an excellent size”, one resident noted, saying “we are able to fit all our bikes, skis, snowmobile, canoe, and vehicle inside.” With optional upgrades like hot tubs, and roughed-in EV chargers, these homes prioritize comfort and sustainability.
“Whistler has become so highly-priced that homes of this size were well out of our price range,” said one Elevate homeowner. “Elevate o ers a type of brightness and openness thanks to its location and big windows. The fact that it was a new-build was obviously an attraction as well, as many of the existing townhomes in both Whistler and Pemberton are in need of new windows and roofs.”
Another resident shared, “The amount of young families was such a nice surprise. We spend a lot of time on the street riding bikes and playing, and there are many awesome families out there doing it with us. It’s an amazing environment.”
