The 5 Biggest Mistakes Made By Landlords 1. Not investing in kitchens and bathrooms - It costs relatively little to tile a bathroom and provide clean and new worktops in kitchens. Kitchens and bathrooms are a major “turnoff” on viewings. 2. Installing light cream coloured carpets - They look modern, but stain quickly – Darker shades are much more serviceable. 3. Not reviewing rent regularly, particularly when the same tenant stays in the property. Allowing rent levels to fall behind market rate can significantly impact your property. 4. Not Carrying out credit checks on tenants- The most credit worthy looking tenant may have CCJs and a record of exploiting unwary landlords. 5. Not putting up a “to let” board- As a result no-one passing and no one locally knows it’s available to let. If you have any questions about letting your property, or would like free, no obligation advice please call us on 01424 751805.

glamour, cars & stars ... a magical step back in time....
oodwood open it’s gates to thousands of Revivalists as the magical Goodwood Revival 2013 got underway. With the most exciting lineup yet, it featured wheel-to-wheel motor racing, glamorous vintage shopping and captivating entertainment continuing into the evening. A host of familiar names and faces from a wide variety of motor sport disciplines were in action at the Revival, including Formula One stars, rally winners, endurance racing champions, tin top tearaways, top bikers and even an Olympic Gold Medallist; often competing in the most unlikely of machines.
lap demonstration to mark a cycling milestone: this year’s 100th running of the Tour de France. Sir Chris – who also raced a Mini Cooper S over the Revival weekend –was cheered around the circuit in the celebration of the great French road race that brought a huge dose of joie de vivre to West Sussex Part one of the Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy contest was only decided on the final lap, with countless changes of leader keeping spectators’ guessing to the flag. In the final reckoning, MV Agusta pairing Gary Johnson and Mick Grant emerged victorious, the former having only taken the lead on the final tour.
The 2013 Goodwood Revival race card kicked off with the Freddie March Trophy race, which fell to the Jaguar C-type driven by Alex Buncombe and John Young.
Alan Oversby had been a comfortable leader early on, only to drop his MV Augusta 500/3 into the kitty litter at Lavant with five minutes run. Howie Mainwaring then led on his Manx Norton and pitted 15mins into the 25min encounter to hand over to Duncan Fitchett. Once the rider changes were completed, it boiled down to a battle of Fitchett, Michael Russell - who was sharing a Manx Norton with Michael Rutter - and Grant. Such were the leaders’ searing pace, only seven runners finished on the lead lap.
Britain’s Olympic hero Sir Chris Hoy MBE was back in the saddle at the Goodwood Revival – on a very different kind of bike from the one the six-times Olympic cycling champion is used to. Sir Chris swapped sleek carbon-fibre racing machine for a chunky 1920s steel bike to lead out 72 riders for a two-
Nine-time Le Mans 24 Hours winner Tom Kristensen won a thrilling opening instalment of the St Mary’s Trophy race for pre ’66 saloon cars. Drivers included comedy legend Rowen Atkinson who raced a Ford-Lotus Cortina MK1, celebrity chef James Martin and Olympic Gold Medallist Sir Chris Hoy who both drove a Mini Cooper S. At the start, it was first-time Revival visitor Johnny Cecotto who sprinted out of the blocks to lead by Madgwick, as the Mini of pole-sitter Oliver Gavin was swamped by the BMW army around him. Former Grand Prix driver Jackie Oliver soon worked his way into the top spot aboard his BMW 1800, only to lose out to Jochen Mass’ Ford Galaxie with four laps run, as Cecotto fell down the order. However, man on the move was German star Frank Stippler who, by half-distance, had blasted his way through the field in his Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA to move into the lead, with Kristensen following closely in his wheeltracks. Stippler and Kristensen were never more than a car’s length apart, with the latter taking the lead on the penultimate tour which he just held to the line for a grandstand finish.

Food & Drink Chateau Magondeau - The wine are crafted from the best
plots on the estate, these exceptional wine is aged for 15 to 17 months in two-thirds new barrels. They have superb breadth of aromas, fullness and great elegance on the palate making them wines of distinction. Lovely clear dark purple colour. The nose presents many layers of fruit and flowers, especially violets. Very complex in the mouth with lush and supple fruit, ultra smooth and silky tannins and a long lingering finish.
Château Majoureau is a family property representing 35 hectares of vines planted exclusively in AOC terroir. Located south of the Gironde, near the medieval city of St. Macaire, the château has produced wine for 25 years. Bernard Delong and his children, Emeline, Aurélie and Mathieu, offer you a complete selection of wines from Bordeaux: two red Bordeaux supérieur, one aged in oak and the other aged traditionally. These are joined by a light and fruity red Bordeaux, a rosé and a sparkling Bordeaux Brut. Château Majoureau has been in the same family for the past four generations. It offers a range of wines – each one unique yet complementary to the others. Situated in the heart of AOC Côtes de Bordeaux Saint Macaire, the vineyard stretches across 38 hectares on hills overlooking the Garonne River. The diversity of the terroirs of the domaine (chalkyclay/gravel), as well as their exposition, largely contributes to the quality of the wines. Depending upon the parcels, all of the premium Bordeaux grape varieties have been planted: Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Sauvignon, Malbec, Sémillon and Muscadelle. Here the Atlantic climate is brought about by the presence of the Garonne River and its tributary, and the southern exposure. Along the Garonne, the first slopes of the hillsides are fairly steep, followed by a succession of moderately steep slopes.

Wedding Services Top tips to help you plan your perfect Wedding & Honeymoon Organising weddings overseas and honeymoons is what we love to do, making every one special and memorable gives us great satisfaction. To help you plan yours, here are some of our top tips: • Book as early as possible to ensure your favourite destination and hotel are available. These days discounts and rewards are offered to those who book early not late. If you are thinking of peak dates like July/Aug, Easter, Christmas or New Year you really can save £1000’s. • Weather - not all destinations have all year round weather and the month you’re getting married may not be the best time to visit certain destinations. If you have your heart set on a destination you may need to plan your wedding around it! • Special Honeymoon Offers - There are
lots of hotels that offer complimentary upgrades and extra special offers exclusive for weddings and honeymooners. Make sure your travel agent negotiates the best offers for you. IN the past I have managed to arrange things like free room upgrades, candlelit dinners on the beach, flowers and champagne to name but a few. • Budget - This will vary greatly but as an average brides & grooms are spending around £4500 plus depending on their dream location. With this in mind, a good travel agent will work with your wish list and your budget to find you the best location they can for the amount you are willing to spend. You don’t have to spend a fortune, but please be realistic.
• Bridal Registry Services- Some travel agents can provide an excellent alternative to the traditional gift list. Guests can contribute towards your Wedding/honeymoon. Designer Travel can offer this service for FREE including gift cards.

The Arlington Aesthetic Clinic Dr Peter Williams founded The Arlington Aesthetic Clinic in 2002. Peter has been a GP tutor for Eastbourne since the early 1980s and previously spent 5 years in the RAF prior to coming to Eastbourne. He, and a group of other GPs were sensitive to the effects on their patients of such changes as sun damaged skin, ageing lines on the face, unwanted hair, prominent veins on the face and legs, as well as conditions like facial redness and excessive underarm sweating. The Arlington Aesthetic Clinic offers IPL and Laser treatments as well as sclerotherapy, Liquid Nitrogen treatments and Botulinum injections for Hyperhidrosis. What’s On Magazine met up with Peter to find out more about the clinic. Peter explained “The Arlington Aesthetic Clinic’s philosophy is to ensure all patients are suitable for the treatment they wish to receive. During an initial free consultation a qualified doctor or certified nurse will assess this and will ensure you are given the most appropriate treatment which follows the latest GMC guidelines which came into effect last summer. All minor surgical treatments including Moles, Skin Tags etc are performed by a GP and these are also available on both evening and Saturday appointments.” The clinic uses the high quality Juvéderm range of fillers and Botox® range and new treatments include lip margin enhancements which last much longer than other types previously available. Nurse, Sam Lemoine (pictured below right) specialises in Botox® and Filler treatments having qualified through Cosmetic Courses. She regularly undertakes update training and is very motivated to develop her skills in a fast developing speciality. She is a member of the British Association of Cosmetic Nurses and has been a Registered Nurse since 1995. Peter tells us the most popular appointments now offered are anti aging treatments which appeal to a wide age range of patients. These include Botox®, dermal fillers and micro dermabrasion which stimulates natural collagen production. Micro dermabrasion is also an ideal remedy for acne scarring. As well as it’s well known use in wrinkle reduction Botox® is also an effective treatment against excessive under arm sweating. With treatments such as Spider Veins being increasingly refused on the NHS (as they are seen as cosmetic), they are becoming more called for at The Arlington Aesthetic Clinic. So what treatment is ideal for autumn? Well, because pale rather than tanned skin responds much better to IPL or Laser procedures, this is an ideal time to consider these options. Call now for your free initial consultation.
