WESTWOOD COMMUNITY CHURCH Purpose Statement Vision Statement

Values

The purpose of Westwood Community Church is to honor God by enjoying Him through reaching people with the love of Jesus Christ.

Our purpose and vision exist because:

We demonstrate God’s love in creative and compelling ways that lead people to know God, worship Him authentically, grow spiritually, serve joyfully and connect relationally. We are a community with open hands, receiving from God all He wants to give, believing He wants to give us a lot. And with open hands we give it away, believing we cannot out-give God.

We love God with all that we are, have and do. We love all people because all people matter to God.

PARENTING WORKSHOP: “TAMING THE TECHNOLOGY

Thursday, Jan 31

MONSTER IN YOUR HOME!” 7:00pm–8:30pm Kids are spending more time in the potent world of technology than ever before. Your children were created to make a difference in that world, not be swept away by it’s influence. Guiding them well requires good knowledge of what’s going on in the world of technology, and a strong, connected relationship built on emotional safety and love. This workshop imparts powerful principles and practical tools for equipping parents to address screen time, Internet, and cell phone use, and their impact on children’s values and beliefs. This session is taught by Jim & Lynne Jackson, well-known speakers and authors of “Discipline That Connects With Your Child’s Heart;” and founders of Connected Families. *Register online.

Weekend Services Saturday 5:00pm

Sunday 8:30, 9:45, 11:05am & 5:00pm

Worship Services Westwood services are dynamic and inspiring. As we express our worship to God, the music is celebratory though the style is varied. At our morning services (8:30, 9:45 and 11:05) you’ll experience a variety of updated traditional hymns, along with the songs of today. At our 5:00 Saturday and Sunday evening ELEMENTS services, the environment is relaxed and the music is a blend of soulful songs that are both relevant and reverent. All our services feature thought-provoking messages that present biblical truth that you can apply to your life.

The Saturday Night service was added this past year to help free up space on Sunday for our worship guests. Come experience a similar service to Sunday nights with music from Ben Rosenbush and the ELEMENTS band.

INFO: www.westwoodcc.org

Students Services Westwood’s Student Ministry nurtures students in grades 6-12 to experience a dynamic love relationship with Jesus Christ. Our professional and volunteer staff model the journey of faith and life in Christ and encourage the students to journey further in their own relationships with God. Students are free to ask questions, challenge answers and experience God personally and honestly.

Children Services Westwood is a great place to be a kid! It’s a place where kids begin to discover their great big God and the world He created for them. A place where faith, learning and imagination go hand in hand. Faith comes alive as kids experience age-specific learning through exciting story-telling that is biblically-based, interactive music that gets kids moving and hands-on crafts that reinforce key Bible concepts!
