How old are you and where do you go to school?

“I am 14 years old and attend St. Joseph and John School. I will be going to Saint Ignatius High School in the fall.”

What made you decide you would like to be a caddie at Westwood?

“My two older brothers, Connor & Jack, are caddies at Westwood and they enjoy it so I decided to become a caddie too.”

What qualities do you have that will make you an asset to the Westwood Caddie Program?

“I am responsible and I am a hard worker.”

So far, what has been your favorite experience since this process began?

“My favorite experience so far has been being introduced to so many nice members and staff.”

What has been your least favorite experience?

“My least favorite experience has been the cold and rainy weather we had during caddie training.”

What part of the job do you think will be most challenging? Why?

“I think the most challenging part of caddying will be holding multiple clubs and tending the pin at the same time.”

Brian Geary

How old are you and where do you go to school?

“I am 13 years old and I go to Saint Bernadette School. I plan on attending Saint Ignatius next year.”

What made you decide you would like to be a caddie at Westwood?

“I decided I wanted to be a caddie at Westwood because it seemed like a great opportunity to learn, meet new people, make money, and have fun.”

What qualities do you have that will make you an asset to the Westwood Caddie Program?

“Some qualities I have that will make me an asset as a caddie at Westwood are that I hold myself to very high standards while I around my peers. I have a good work ethic and I am willing to put in the hard work and effort into this job.”

So far, what has been your favorite experience since this process began?

“So far, an experience that I cherish was meeting a fellow caddie that is a senior at Saint Ignatius (Charlie Medvin). He was very kind in guiding and helping me through caddie training and telling me about my Saint Ignatius.”

What has been your least favorite experience?

“My least favorite experience during caddie training was walking in the cold and wet weather!”

What part of the job do you think will be most challenging? Why?

“A part of this job that I think will be the most challenging is keeping up with members that like to play quickly because it is harder to move quickly as a caddie than as a player.”

3
Eli Nouneh

How old are you and where do you go to school?

“I am 15 years old and attend Avon Lake High School.”

What made you decide you would like to be a caddie at Westwood?

“I decided to caddie at Westwood because I love golf and want to be around the game even more. I also want to learn the finer points of golf and make the golfer’s experience at Westwood more enjoyable than it already is.”

What qualities do you have that will make you an asset to the Westwood Caddie Program?

“The reason I will be an asset to the Westwood Caddie Program is because I am hardworking, intelligent, passionate and helpful.”

So far, what has been your favorite experience since this process began?

“My favorite experience is learning how to be a caddie.”

What has been your least favorite experience?

“So far, nothing!”

What part of the job do you think will be most challenging? Why?

“The part that I believe will be the most challenging is watching the golfers play and trying not to get jealous!”

Kooper Nilson

How old are you and where do you go to school?

“I am 18 years old and a senior at Saint Ignatius High School. I plan on attending Colgate University in the fall.”

What made you decide you would like to be a caddie at Westwood?

“After getting a chance to play the course I fell in love and decided that being around Westwood’s atmosphere all summer was where I wanted to be!”

What qualities do you have that will make you an asset to the Westwood Caddie Program?

“I’m very talkative and an avid golfer.

So far, what has been your favorite experience since this process began?

“My favorite experience so far has been the people I have caddied for during caddie training. They didn’t slice all their shots so they made it easy on me!”

What has been your least favorite experience?

“My least favorite part so far is finding out I can’t get the strawberry kiwi and lemonade mix on hole 6.”

What part of the job do you think will be most challenging? Why?

“I think the most challenging part of the job will be finding member’s balls because I have a hard time finding my own when I golf.”

Cole Strand

Noah Opdycke

How old are you and where do you go to school?

“I am 14 years old and I attend Rocky River Middle School.”

What made you decide you would like to be a caddie at Westwood?

“I’d say my brother, Luke Opdycke, was my biggest inspiration behind me becoming a caddie. My friends, Owen Toole and Cole Trainor also played a role. The three of them would talk about caddying so much and how much they enjoyed going out on the course, so I figured I would give it a shot.”

What qualities do you have that will make you an asset to the Westwood Caddie Program?

“I think my work ethic and determination are my two most important qualities that will make me an asset to the program.”

So far, what has been your favorite experience since this process began?

“In my little experience so far, my shadow round was my most favorite experience. Walking up the 18th fairway and realizing you got through the loop without making any mistakes was the best feeling for me!”

What has been your least favorite experience?

“My least favorite experience so far was the weather! I’ve loved every part of caddying so far except for how cold and wet it’s been this spring. It’s never fun walking 18 holes with wet socks.”

What part of the job do you think will be most challenging? Why?

“The most difficult part of the job will be getting over how much you worry about messing up or making a mistake. I think this is mainly because it’s my first real job and the members of Westwood are all very important people. The best way to get over this is just remembering that almost every member there is nice and one small mistake is no big deal.”

Apprentice Evaluations

Like last year, I will be addressing any issues with new caddies by holding on-going training throughout their apprenticeship. Feedback from members is essential for our young caddies to learn how to caddie so they can be a valuable asset to the Westwood Caddie Program.

I respectfully ask you to complete the Apprentice Evaluation Form located in your ForeTees App under “Caddie Program”. Thank you in advance for helping me with this endeavor!
