How long have you been a caddie at Westwood?

“This will be my 5th year caddying at Westwood.”

How did you first learn about the Evans Scholar opportunity?

“I still remember being in 8th grade seeing the school announcements and learning about this amazing opportunity. I got hired and my parents went to the caddie orientation and told me about this scholarship. So, I’ve always known I needed to work hard and be the best caddie I could.”

What was the application process like for you?

“I was very nervous throughout the application process, but with the help of my school counselor, Mr. Kozar and Mr. Sico, they made it much easier. I’d like to thank all of these people for helping my hard work come to fruition.”

How did you learn you had been awarded the scholarship? What was your reaction? How did it make your parents feel?

“After my interview in Columbus, I was constantly checking the mailbox waiting for a letter back. I came home for lunch one day and saw the envelope and I was immediately in shock. My family was just as thrilled! They are excited to support me along this journey.”

What has been one of your favorite memories of being an Evans Scholar so far?

“My favorite memory so far as an Evans Scholar is meeting the new scholars and the upperclassmen at the Evans House this past weekend at Miami University. Everyone was so kind and made me so excited to be a part of this community for the next four years!”

Do you have any advice for the younger caddies at Westwood who are possibly interested in becoming an Evans Scholar?

“As for the younger caddies at Westwood, I believe grades and caddie record are some of the most important factors in becoming an Evans Scholar. Good luck to all!”

“After high school, I plan on attending college to study business and entrepreneurship.”

“In my free time, I like boating, playing golf, hockey, and working out with my friends.”

“My favorite part of caddying at Westwood is building relationships with a lot of the members and feeling appreciated by them. My least favorite is waking up for early loops but it is worth it.”
