SPECIAL INTEREST Bagpipes for Beginners

The best way to learn how to play the bagpipes is through the Bagpipes for Beginners group class. Whether you are an experienced musician or the bagpipes are your first instrument, anyone can learn how to play. The class introduces music theory and basic finger movements in preparation of learning a first tune. A set of bagpipes is not needed to learn. A separate instrument called a practice chanter is used to learn and practice for pipers of all abilities. A practice chanter may be purchased from the instructor. The class may be taken multiple times. *Optional $100 due to instructor for purchase of practice chanter.

Westminster Chorale

The Westminster Chorale currently is a choral home for singers with diverse backgrounds, ages, and musical tastes. Members range from highly experienced professionals to enthusiastic amateurs, and new recruits are always welcome. Chorale dues are $20 per month for the Chorale’s expenses, including the director and accompanist, and the cost of concert venues. This will be waived the first month for new members. For the safety of all in our class, proof of covid-19 vaccination is required to be presented to the instructor. *No class 5/30.

Tai Chi Bagpipes for Beginners Intermediate Section

The intermediate section of Bagpipes for Beginners is the continuing section of classes continuing the study of music theory with application to learning basic tunes. A set of bagpipes is not needed to learn. A separate instrument, called a practice chanter, is used to learn and practice for pipers of all abilities. The class may be taken multiple times. *Optional $100 due to instructor for purchase of practice chanter.
