Rubbish trip for Coasters ‘N
o-waste nomads’ Liam Prince, left, and Hannah Blumhart who have lived for the last three years without a rubbish bin, are helping West Coaster’s to reduce their waste footprint through The Rubbish Trip. They are bringing their free zero-waste presentations and workshops to community groups, schools, businesses and households from Fox Glacier to Karamea. “Our presentations are informative but also hopeful, based on our own experience of living, since the
beginning of 2015, without a bin. We have a cando attitude to reducing rubbish and want to show people how easy, fun and fulfilling waste reduction can be.� The pair began their one year tour at the beginning of Plastic Free July last year. They have now hit the Coast and held their first talk at Fox Glacier last week. Other events: June 17, Karamea Community Centre, 2pm; June 20, NBS Theatre Westport, 5.30pm; June 22, Broadway Tearooms Reefton, 7pm.
