Adjudicated Medals:
Platinum, Gold, Ember Medals presented to dancers based on individual scores. Each judge may give up to a maximum of 100 points, points may be given up to one decimal place. Entries will be evaluated for Stage Presence, Technique, Performance Execution, and Overall Appearance.
The highest and lowest scores will be deducted, and the remaining three scores will be added together for a composite score out of out of 300 maximum points
Platinum Medal: 288-300 pts.
Gold Medal: 279-287.9 pts.
Ember Medal: 240-278.9 pts.
Age Division Awards:
Presented to all Entry Levels for Soloists, Duet/Trio, and combined Group in each of the six (6) age divisions: Rising Star, Junior Star, Teen Star, Senior Star, Limitless Youth Star, and Forever Young Star.
Overall Top Awards:
Presented to all Entry Levels for Soloists, Duet/Trio, combined Group.
Outstanding Choreographer Award:
Presented to outstanding original choreography.

Outstanding Studio Achievement Award:
Presented to one (1) studio/school/academy/organization that has received the highest OVERALL COMBINED score.
Intermediate & Advanced Studio of Excellence Award:
Presented to one (1) studio/school/academy/organization that has received the highest OVERALL COMBINED score in the Intermediate Level and in the Advanced Level.
Each judge may pick from one of the following awards to present to the performance that they find best fits the description of the award. If presented, each Judges Award may only be given out once.
• Dynamic Duo (Terrific Trio) Award: For the best pair or trio who demonstrated amazing chemistry and synchronicity in their performance.
• Quality of Movement Award: For the dancer who demonstrates high quality of movement through their performance
• Stage Presence Award: For the dancer who lit up the stage with confidence and charisma.
• Unstoppable Energy Award: For a dancer who brought non-stop energy and enthusiasm from start to finish.
• Precision Powerhouse Award: For the dancer or group that showcased impeccable timing and sharpness.
• Total Teamwork Award: For a group that demonstrated flawless teamwork and unity on stage.



Lee Shuxia is a member of the Chinese National Dancers Association, is a National First Class Artist of China, and was forming a principal dancer of the China National Song and Dance Troupe. She was rated as the topmost outstanding dancer by the Ministry of Culture of the People’s Republic of China. She graduated from the Beijing Dance Academy with honors in 1976 and and has won multiple awards in national dance competitions. She took part in the first ever Chinese New Year Festival Gala, performing a classical solo dance of Pigsy Carrying His Wife
Zhang Hui is a professional dancer and a distinguished member and certified examiner for the Chinese Dancers Association. She is most notably the founder of Zhanqi Feiwu Children's Art Education, a major dance institution with 19 campuses that has cultivated over 50,000 students. She has dedicated over twenty years to dance education. In collaboration with artist Luo Tian, she developed "Huafeng Yuewu," an innovative national style dance curriculum for children. Zhang leads a team of young, professional teachers and possesses extensive practical experience in arts examination, student management, and comprehensive arts education, earning numerous honors for her significant contributions to the field.


Liu Yifeng is a distinguished dance professor, choreographer, and International Gold Award recipient. He is a professor at Shandong Youth University of Politics and a Resident Artist with the Beijing LDTX Modern Dance Company. He has served as a visiting professor at Hebei University, Beijing Dance Academy, and Minzu University of China. Since 2011, Liu has been a key igure in the “Modern Dance into Campus” project, promoting cultural exchange and dance education at top universities including Peking and Tsinghua Universities. As a choreographer, he has created acclaimed works with the National Ballet of China and received major international honors, including a Gold Award at the Japan International Modern Dance Competition.
Wang Mingxuan is a Soloist dancer with the San Francisco Ballet. He received his training from the Shanghai Dance School and the San Francisco Ballet School trainee program before joining the company in 2013. Wang has performed a versatile repertoire, dancing principal and soloist roles in works by celebrated choreographers including Helgi Tomasson, George Balanchine, Christopher Wheeldon, and Justin Peck. His notable leading roles include Albrecht in Giselle, the Creature in Liam Scarlett's Frankenstein, and Armand in Sir Frederick Ashton's Marguerite and Armand. An acclaimed artist on the international stage, Wang was a winner at the 2012 Prix de Lausanne and received the Gold Medal at the 2011 Seoul International Ballet Competition.

Liu Jianxuan is a distinguished National Second-Class Actor, choreographer, and certified dance educator. A graduate of the prestigious Beijing Dance Academy, she has had an extensive career as a prominent dancer with the Liaoning Opera House (Liaoning Symphony Orchestra), performing as a lead dancer and soloist in numerous award-winning productions and nationally televised galas, earning multiple accolades for her performance, including a national gold prize for her solo work. Beyond the stage, Liu is a highly decorated instructor, recognized with numerous honors such as the "Best Instructor" and "Outstanding Arts Teacher" awards at various national youth competitions. She has also served as an assistant director, choreographer, and has published scholarly articles on dance performance and theory.

Since 2014, WeShine World Dance Competition, hosted by the US Chinese Dance Association (USCDA) has become one of the most influential dance competitions in the Bay Area and has been praised for its professionalism and impartiality. WeShine's mission to “learn from one another, progress together, discover new talents, and promote different cultures” creates an educational and social exchange platform for dancers around the world. WeShine is honored to create a positive environment to inspire dancers and create lifelong memories.
Dedicated to recognizing and encouraging dancers from around the world, WeShine has attracted hundreds of entries, bringing together thousands of dancers not only from the Bay Area, but also from out of state and China. In 2020, WeShine attracted over 100 registered entries across the US and internationally across 5 countries - including Brazil, Germany, and Singapore. Our winners have also been featured on beautiful floats at the 2020, 2022, and 2024 San Francisco Lunar New Years Parade. We are proud to recognize teachers, choreographers, parents, and students themselves for their dedication and hard work.
