There’s an old saying that if you’re bored, it’s your own darn fault, and this time of year, that couldn’t be truer. Every season I’m amazed (and slightly exhausted--just watching) at the incredible number of activities happening in RV parks across the Valley. From morning coffee socials and card games to afternoon crafts, pickleball, dances, and evening entertainment, the calendars are packed. Truly packed. And if that somehow isn’t enough, there’s a whole world of fun waiting outside the park gates. Day trips, festivals, tours, shows, shopping, live music…you name it. You could honestly run from the moment you wake up until the moment your eyes finally close and still feel like you missed something. “Never a dull moment” might be the understatement of the season. Meanwhile, back at the office, we’re knee-deep in budgets, spreadsheets, deadlines, and planning the next big thing. I’ll admit, there are days when I catch myself dreaming of trading in Excel formulas for mahjong tiles, line dancing, and water aerobics. (One day… one day.) The silver lining is that we’re lucky enough to join many of our Winter Texan friends on tours and trips throughout the season. And, let me tell you; you’ve taught us how to have a good time. Your energy, curiosity, and joy for living are contagious, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. So, if you’re feeling bored… well, you know the saying.

Thank You

Two-hundred thirty-eight respondents cast their votes. Swimming, 8-ball pool, shuffleboard, yoga/pilates, gym/weights, water volleyball, and corn hole rounded out the list of answers. In addition to this long list, Cherie Tromborn shared via Facebook that, while in South Texas, she Jazzercises everyday with friends back in Wisconsin. “I can livestream it from my home studio in Hartland, WI. It is so much fun and I still see my friends from WI.”
