WOODEN SWING

Step 6: Attach the metal rings/S hooks at the rope ends using the same anchor bend knots. You will use these rings/hooks to hang it from a tree, doorway, etc. Optionally, you can paint and/or seal the swing with some polyurethane to protect it and to give the wood a fine smooth finish. Remember to test all knots and connections before placing a child on the swing. If you tie your knots correctly and use the right rope and hanging hooks, your swing should be able to support up to 200 pounds.

Anchor Bend Knot: 1) Make two turns around the ring, leaving the turns loose. 2) Put the free end behind the length of rope and push it through the loose turns, pulling tight. 3) Now tie a half hitch around the length of rope by placing the free end around the length of rope. 4) Pull tight so the half hitch is as close as possible to the ring, securing the free end between the half hitch and turns.
