Enseignant en droit constitutionnel pendant plusieurs années, avocat et Président du parti radical valoisien de Côte-d'Or, vous avez été récemment nommé au grade de Chevalier des Palmes Académiques. Qu'avez-vous ressenti lorsque l'on vous a remis cette distinction ? Cette distinction je l’ai conçue non comme un aboutissement mais comme un engagement à poursuivre dans la voie de la connaissance humaine, dans la transmission des connaissances que ce soit hier à la faculté, et aujourd’hui dans le cadre de la formation professionnelle. Je suis très attaché à la transmission entre générations, c’est une tâche humaine inlassable, jamais achevée. Vous êtes un homme de terrain, que souhaitez-vous apporter en tant que leader UMP de l'opposition à Longvic ? Je veux apporter demain un nouveau souffle démocratique et moderne avec mon équipe. La ville a besoin de trouver toute sa place dans l’agglomération dijonnaise et peser sur les grands dossiers d’avenir pour construire une ville équilibrée dans laquelle chacun se sente bien. Pouvez-vous nous parler de l'association Edgar Faure et quel est votre rôle ? Je suis Président d’honneur de l’association Edgar Faure, créée par Rodolphe Oppenheimer 52 · WM n°2
How did you feel when you were given this distinction? I didn't take this distinction in terms of its outcome but more as a commitment to pursue the path of human knowledge, through the transmission of knowledge whether it’s yesterday at the Faculty or as part of today's vocational training. I am very attached to this transmission between generations, a tireless human endeavour without end. You are a field worker, what would you bring as the UMP leader of the opposition in Longvic? I want to bring to tomorrow a fresh, modern democratic approach with my team. The city needs to find its place within the Dijon suburbs and have an influence on the major issues for the future, and to build a balanced city where everyone feels good. Can you tell us about the Edgar Faure organization and your role? I am honorary president of the Edgar Faure organization, created by his grand son Rudolph Oppenheimer, which strongly and vigorously honors the memory of Edgar Faure, who was a man of spirit, a great Republican, and a humanist. The Edgar Faure organization gives annually to the Senate, a prestigious political literature award which has become revered in this area. Jean-Louis Borloo will not run for the Presidential elections, what are your thoughts? Jean-Louis Borloo has made a difficult decision with the lucidity and responsibility of a statesman. A presidential candidacy would be seen as a fratricidal division and a disaster for the Presidential Majority of the right and center. The Radical Party and Jean-Louis Borloo must be a great addition for the presidential majority towards the service of France and the French people. If you were President of the Republic, what would be your first wish? The concern of French reconciliation, because an election is by nature divisive. We need a strong symbol of brotherhood and solidarity after an election, and to paraphrase the words of Renan “a common will in the present; has done great things together, wanting to do it again, these are the essential conditions to be a nation.” You were a lawyer in Paris for 5 years, and returned to the Côte d'Or, how do you feel? I spent all my childhood here and was educated in law and as a lawyer in Dijon. Working for a short time in Paris at the beginning of my legal career was a great experience, but I had in mind to come back to Dijon because I’m very attached to our beautiful department with the most beautiful name, the Côte d'Or, these words say it all.

L’association Edgar Faure, remet chaque année au Sénat, un prestigieux prix de littérature politique, qui est devenu la référence en la matière. Jean-Louis Borloo ne se présentera pas à la Présidentielle, qu'en pensez-vous ? Jean-Louis Borloo a pris une décision difficile avec la lucidité et la responsabilité d’un homme d’Etat. Une candidature présidentielle serait apparue comme une division fratricide et désastreuse pour la majorité présidentielle de droite et du centre. Le Parti radical et Jean-Louis Borloo doivent être une forte valeur ajoutée pour la majorité présidentielle au service de la France et des Français. Si vous étiez Président de la République, quel serait votre premier souhait ? Le souci de la réconciliation de tous les français, car une élection par nature divise. Il faut une symbolique forte de la fraternité et de la solidarité après une élection, et pour paraphraser la phrase de Renan « une volonté commune dans le présent ; avoir fait de grandes choses ensemble, vouloir en faire encore, voilà les conditions essentielles pour être un peuple ».
Je veux apporter un nouveau souffle démocratique et moderne ! Vous étiez avocat à Paris pendant 5 ans, de retour en Côte-d'or, comment vous sentez-vous ? J’ai passé toute mon enfance et fait mes études de droit et d’avocat à Dijon. Travailler un court moment à Paris au début de ma carrière d’avocat fut une formidable expérience, mais j’avais en tête de revenir à Dijon car je suis très attaché à notre beau département qui porte le plus beau nom qui soit, Côte d’Or, tout est dit dans ces mots.
