Sociology THE SUBJECT IS ASSESSED BY TWO WRITTEN EXAMINATION PAPERS: Paper 1 O The sociology of families. O The sociology of education. O Relevant areas of social theory and research methods. Students will be expected to draw on knowledge and understanding of the entire course of study to show a deeper understanding of these topics. Paper 2 O The sociology of crime and deviance. Students will be expected to draw on knowledge and understanding of the entire course of study to show a deeper understanding of these topics. How both papers are assessed: O Both papers are a written exam: 1 hour 45 minutes each. O Both are worth 100 marks and 50% of the GCSE. Questions on both papers: O Section A has two multiple choice questions followed by a range of short and extended responses. O Section B has two multiple choice questions followed by a range of short and extended responses.
