PLAY SMARTER

RUNSHAW LANE finished well from an unpromising position when fifth at Beverley on debut and, provided he breaks more alertly, there’s a good chance he can confirm that promise to get off the mark at the second attempt. Papa Cocktail, the only winner in the field, didn’t have the rub of the green in a nursery at York last time, so he’s a player, while Sea Time strikes as a notable newcomer.

ETERNAL GLORY made all over C&D in July and, despite a poor showing at Newmarket 20 days ago, it would be no great surprise were she to prove hard to pass again. Kit Gabriel’s third at Windsor last time looks a solid piece of form, so he’s a definite player, and Chelsea Anne may well get back on the up having found things conspiring against her last time.
