This is our 4th jumps meeting of the season. We have 7 races today commencing at 12.15pm until 3.17pm. We would like to thank our sponsors today who are Weatherbys.
Important points to note today are:
Important points to note today are: For our Owners and Trainers, we have provided the Club Room for dining plus the first floor Executive Room for viewing today where you will find large televisions, a bar, complimentary tea and coffee and a two course meal plus private betting facilities and you may also use the Club Terrace area and Premier Room 1 today. For our Annual badge holders, you have the Paddock Pavilion and The Club Terrace.
Please be aware that we no longer accept cash at all our bar and food outlets, only debit or credit cards. Please be assured that turnstiles and betting facilities will continue to accept cash. For those customers who either forget their cards or do not possess a debit card or credit card, we have opened “voucher outlets” where you will be able to exchange your cash for vouchers and should you not spend your vouchers on the day you will be able to exchange them back for cash from the main office before you leave (up to 30 minutes after the last race), or use them on a future meeting. Today the outlet is situated at the Main Office. Please also note the new location of the Paddock Tote which is now next to the turnstile toilets overlooking the Parade Ring. Public bars and food stands will close today immediately following the final race and the racecourse will close shortly after. Please take a look at the racecourse map within your racecard to familiarise yourself with our facilities and in particular the location of our first aid unit where we have 2 qualified staff to look after any slips, trips or bumps you may have and hopefully nothing more serious.
PLEASE NOTE: OUR 2026 FIXTURES ARE NOW OPEN FOR SALE ON OUR WEBSITE.
HAVE A GREAT DAY, THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING US AND WE HOPE TO SEE YOU AGAIN FOR OUR NEXT MEETING WHICH TAKES PLACE ON SUNDAY 28th DECEMBER.

Star Ratings Explained:
5. Form Figures
7.Weight in St & Lb 8. Jockey Colour
Each horse has been given a star rating, these are defined below:
★★★★★ Selected to win the race.
★★★★✩ Good chance of being placed.
Form Guide
Star Rating
Official BHA Rating
★★★✩✩ By no means out of the reckoning but at least one or two hold stronger claims
★★✩✩✩ Unlikely to win but not totally without hope
★✩✩✩✩ Can be given little or no chance
The BHA Handicappers allot ratings to horses once they have taken part in a sufficient number of races to enable the Handicappers to make a numerical assessment of each horse’s ability. The principal purpose of the ratings is to determine the weight to be carried by each runner in handicap races, with the Handicappers aiming to provide each participant with an equal chance based on its best recent form under its optimum conditions A horse rated 100, for example, would be set to carry 1lb more than a horse rated 99 (ignoring any penalties or allowances). The ratings published in the racecard for handicap races are the ratings that were used to calculate the weight to be carried by each horse, whilst in non-handicaps races the rating shown is that of each runner at the time that the entries for the race were confirmed. Any subsequently published change to a rating, either up or down, is shown in brackets following the rating.

Our easy guide to getting the most from your racecard. Our new racecard key identifies the main runner and rider elements: You must be 18 or over to place a bet You may be asked to provide proof of your age when placing a bet. If you cannot produce this, your bet will not be accepted.

PLAY SMARTER
SNAPIUS has been consistent in handicap hurdles and should have benefited from his comeback third at this course last month. Having enjoyed a productive first campaign for his current yard, he can score at the expense of Thankyouandplease, who pulled clear of the remainder at Plumpton recently. Aggagio was well beaten at Windsor last time but is down markedly in grade here

It is an absolute pleasure to be sponsoring races across the card at Leicester this afternoon, and there are two course and distance winners lining up in the Weatherbys Stallion Book ‘National Hunt’ Handicap Chase Ben Case’s Ronnies Reflection has won his last two at the track and arrives here just2lbshigherthanwhenscoringhere in February. Nine Nine Nine was only narrowly denied that day but has won twice previously here over fences and benefitsfromaswingintheweights.

season and should improve on his hurdling debut in the Weatherbys nhstallions.co.uk Maiden Hurdle, too keen on return. Onefournine is an Irish point winner and an interesting rules debutant, whilst Northanger Abbey caughttheeyelasttimewhenfourthon hurdlesdebutatSouthwell.
Dan Skelton’s Settle Down Jill sets a good standard in the Weatherbys Global Stallions App Mares’ Handicap Chase, a novice hurdle winner in October and last time a good third in a strong race over fences at Warwick. Irish Chorus may present the biggest danger, havingshapedonwellonchase
debut last time before a race-ending mistaketwofromhome.
Ben Pauling’s Kicour La created a taking impression when scoring over course and distance by five lengths on hurdles debut last time and must hold solid claims under a penalty in the weatherbysshop.co.uk Novices’ Hurdle Hot To Go represents the Twiston-Daviesteamandalsoscoredin a maiden hurdle at Leicester last time; he steps up in distance here and can improve again for the sterner stamina test.
TheWeatherbysRacingBankHandicap Chase looks mightily competitive despite only having the six runners, all with their own claims. Jet Plane looks well-handicapped on last year’s form fortheSkeltonyardfromaslidingmark, whilst The Good Doctor is admirably consistent and posted an encouraging comeback at Sandown last time. Pam Sly’s William Cody is a course and distance winner who bounced back to form with a good second at Catterick lasttime.
The Weatherbys & Birdie Calendars Handicap Hurdle closes the card and KlicBoum caughttheeyeatChepstow last time, staying on late following a couple of jumping errors. He continues toeaseintheweightsforEvanWilliams and his form from last season has workedoutwell.JewelEyedJudyscored impressively over course and distance on return and, whilst she has a 7lb rise to contend with, the lightly-raced mare remainsopentomoreimprovement.

At every meeting at Leicester Racecourse there are two specially-qualified equine vets appointed to look after the welfare of all horses in action. During the race one vet will be following the runners and can attend to a horse in the same response time as the Paramedic Teams responsible for treating injured jockeys The second vet is based below the stewards box in the grandstand, is in radio contact with his colleague following the runners, and can respond immediately to any uncovered emergency. In addition there is a third vet, a British Horseracing Authority Veterinary team and the stewards
The Racecourse also employs a specialist Horse Ambulance Team, equipped with a modern equine ambulance to enable injured horses to be transported safely to a veterinary hospital for treatment. It is now standard practice for screens to be erected around any horse receiving veterinary attention on the course This does not reflect on the severity of an injury, but allows the vet some privacy in which to administer treatment and provides the horse with a calm environment in which to make a recovery. Please do not assume the worst if you see screens erected around a fallen horse
