DANIEL CRAGGS General Manager, Huntingdon Racecourse
Welcome to Huntingdon Racecourse for our Beer Festival Afternoon Racing, held in association with Woodforde’s and proudly sponsored by PricedUp We are delighted to host an ever-popular day in our calendar, bringing together great racing, fantastic beer, and a superb atmosphere for racegoers to enjoy. With a stellar crowd joining us today, the racecourse is set to be buzzing with energy from the first race to the last pint poured.
A warm welcome to our owners, trainers, jockeys, and all visiting connections who join us. I would also like to extend our sincere thanks to PricedUp for their valued sponsorship, and to Woodforde’s for partnering with us to deliver this year’s Beer Festival - featuring a brilliant selection of beers for you to sample throughout the afternoon.
On the track, we have an exciting card of racing ahead, with competitive fields offering plenty of quality and entertainment. I’m particularly looking forward to welcoming back Kally Des Bruyeres in the fifth race, following his 200/1 triumph with us on 3rd November 2024 - the joint-second longest-priced winner of any race in Britain.
My thanks go, as always, to our hardworking team behind the scenes for their commitment to ensuring today’s meeting runs smoothly
Whether you’re here to enjoy the racing, discover a new favourite beer, or simply spend an afternoon with friends and family, we hope you have a memorable experience at Huntingdon Racecourse.
Here’s to a fantastic day of racing - and cheers to a great Beer Festival.

BETTING EXPLAINED
Select your horse. Note their name and saddlecloth number
Choose your bet. ‘To win’ or ‘each-way’ are popular types of bet.
‘To win’ is for your horse to come first.
‘Each-way’ is for your horse to come first or to be placed. It’s two bets, so ‘£2 each-way’ = £4 total bet.
Decide the amount – or stake – you are comfortable to bet.
Place your bet. There are different places to bet on course; The Tote, racecourse bookmakers, betting shop or online. Each option offers a different experience.
Collect. Once ‘Weighed-in’ has been announced, present your betting slip and collect any winnings.

GO AMWELL
Go Amwell, trained by John Jenkins and sponsored by Dylexicare, won 11 races in a 107 race career covering what must be a national record of more than 260 miles at racing speed.
He was a Huntingdon course specialist winning 5 times over 3 miles 2 furlongs and knocking JP McManus off the leading owner list for a short while.
He also won twice at Goodwood, had wins at Uttoxeter, Wolverhampton, Kempton and Warwick. He could be a bit of a monkey, like running around Ascot in the wrong direction but, on a going day he was like his father, Kayf Tara, a relentless stayer.
Today we are proud to celebrate and share his career and his attitude.

PLAY SMARTER
Preference is for GLANCE AT MIDNIGHT, who went the right way with each start in bumpers and opened his account at this course in April. He’s bred to do better over jumps so can continue his progress to make a winning hurdling debut, though Unjeu Royal isn’t taken lightly having not been seen to best effect on his hurdles bow. Eddie My Eagle is also one to note

PLAY SMARTER
LELANTOS placed twice back over hurdles before a change of headgear failed to have the desired effect at this C&D last time, so with cheekpieces reapplied he could be ready to take advantage of his reduced mark. Icaque de L’Isle ran well when third at Worcester on return and is feared most, ahead of Groom de Cotte who ended last season in top form.
