Page 1

WELCOME TO

On behalf of the team at Haydock Park Racecourse we would like to extend a very warm welcome to you for our Sky Bet Sunday Series Family Day.

We are set for a fantastic afternoon of racing, with seven competitive flat races taking place today plus a host of free family entertainment.

We are delighted to have Sky Bet as our headline sponsor today, extending the strong relationship between the racecourse and Sky Bet. It is a privilege to welcome the team and I would like to wish them a very memorable day.

Alongside a thrilling afternoon of live racing action, we’ve packed the day with free children’s entertainment to keep our younger visitors smiling from start to finish From exciting inflatables and colourful face painting to the ever-popular Shetland Pony Grand National, there’s something for every junior racing fan to enjoy.

Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our raceday employees who have worked tirelessly throughout the season but especially after a busy weekend of racing that we are completing today. I would like to thank all of them for their continued commitment and dedication, it is truly appreciated.

Best of luck and we look forward to welcoming you back to another of our 2025 racedays.

DON’T FORGET OUR NEXT MEETING

TOM’S BIG BIKE RIDE

This summer, 19-year-old Tom Dunlop, eldest son of Harry Dunlop, will embark on an extraordinary challenge for his gap year. Setting off from Newton Abbot Racecourse on Sunday 27th July, Tom will cycle over 2,600 miles solo, visiting all 59 Great British racecourses, finishing at Newbury on Thursday 28th August.

This gruelling, self-navigated journey aims to raise £60,000 in support of the Injured Jockeys Fund and to contribute towards a hydrotherapy pool for The Beehive, a day care centre in Dorset supporting his godmother’s son Ollie, who has Angelman’s Syndrome.

Tom will be visiting Haydock Park on Tuesday 19th August and you can donate to his cause by scanning the QR code below.

Everyone at Haydock Park wishes Tom the best with his challenge.

VETS SCREEN POLICY

We have agreed with our vets that the screen should be erected, whenever a horse requires veterinary treatment on the course. This does not reflect the severity of an injury, but does help to provide a calm environment, in which the vet is better able to treat the horse.

Please do not assume the worst if you see screens erected around a fallen horse.

PLAY SMARTER

A fiendishly competitive handicap in which it could pay to side with Paul Midgley’s SPRING IS SPRUNG He’s been given a break since landing back-to-backwins inthis series earlierinthe summerand a 3lb rise for the latest of them shouldn’t prevent a bold bid to bag the £100,000 bonus. Duran promises to be suited bythe waythis race is likelyto be run and he’s feared. Mick & David Easterbytrained-duoAcrisius and Knicks are others making appeal, along with Curious Rover and Grandlad.

MERESIDE DIVA: Following its run on 25/7/2025 it was reported that the horse was denied a clear run.

Probable S.P’s: 11-4 Lorna B (IRE), 7-1 Definitive (GB), Bint Mohaather (GB), 17-2 Powdering (IRE), Amayretto (GB), 10-1 Mollie Foster (IRE), 16-1 Angel of Rain (GB), 20-1 Mostar Dreams (IRE), Alessia Fernanda (IRE), 33-1 Mereside Diva (IRE), 40-1 Autumn Rose (IRE)

Cases can be made for a few of these, but LORNA B gets the nod to complete a hat-trick and make it 4 wins from 6 starts with further progress in the pipeline. Her main threat may emerge from Bint Mohaather, who proved something of a let-down at Doncaster bearing in mind the promise she’d shown when making a winning return, but handicaps and a return to 7f promises to suit. Definitive can edge out Powdering for minor honours.

2024: NO CORRESPONDING RACE LASTYEAR

GIBSIDE: Following its run on 12/7/2025 it was reported that the horse stopped quickly IN THE BREEZE: Following its run on 18/7/2025 it was reported that the horse lost a shoe.

Probable S.P’s: 15-8 String of Pearls (GB), 4-1 Belgravian (IRE), 15-2 Mostly Sunny (IRE), 8-1 Letsbefrank (IRE), 9-1 Dino Bellagio (GB), 16-1 Gallant Lion (GB), 18-1 Gibside (GB), 25-1 In The Breeze (IRE)

Itwould come as no surprisewerethisto be dominated bythe 3-y-o pairSTRING OFPEARLS and Belgravian at the foot of the weights. Both are firmly on the up, with the former of particular interest having won her last two despite still learning her craft. This longer trip will help her, too, so the hat-trick beckons. Mostly Sunny looks the pick of the older challengers.

RACEHORSE & JOCKEY WELFARE

The welfare of the sport’s equine and human participants is paramount to British Horseracing. All racehorses competing in Britain are stabled at the premises of trainers who are licensed by The British Horseracing Authority The standards demanded by The BHA of licensed racehorse trainers far exceed those prescribed by animal welfare legislation The British Horseracing Authority similarly licenses every racecourse, setting high standards for the racing surface and all parts of the course used by competitors, both human and equine. BHA Officials ensure that racecourses delivers these standards In addition Haydock Park Racecourse employs a minimum of three veterinary surgeons, whose sole responsibility it is to provide care to the horses throughout their time at the racecourse In the event of an incident on the racecourse, any horse affected will receive immediate treatment from the racecourse’s veterinary team. Qualified paramedics and doctors are also on hand in the case of any incident involving a jockey If any incident occurs during a race it is routine practice for screens to be erected around the horse or jockey receiving treatment. This is to allow the veterinary or medical personnel to make a safe and accurate diagnosis and so that they may perform any treatment in a private and calm environment. If necessary, horses and riders will be transported from the course to receive further treatment at the nearest equine hospital or Accident & Emergency hospital
