WELCOME TO

Welcome to Haydock Park for one of the most anticipated events of the summer – Betfred Rose of Lancaster Ladies Day.

We’re thrilled to welcome you to a day where thrilling racing, standout fashion, and top-class entertainment come together in style.

On the track, all eyes will be on the feature race of the afternoon, the Group 3 Betfred Rose of Lancaster Stakes – a contest rich in history and quality. This celebrated race has seen some superb horses triumph in years gone by, including the likes of Jukebox Jury, Addeybb, and Anmaat. It promises to be a fantastic spectacle once again, as a new name joins the prestigious roll of honour.

Away from the racing, today is your opportunity to dazzle in the spotlight with our everpopular Style Awards. This is your chance to shine and showcase your unique fashion sense for the chance to win over £2,000 worth of fabulous prizes. Whether you favour timeless elegance or bold statements, we want to see your style! Simply visit one of our Style Pods –located in the Paddock Enclosure or near the Kauto Star statue – to have your photo taken either individually or as part of a group. Share your details with our friendly staff and you’ll be entered into the competition

Prizes up for grabs include a £1,000 holiday voucher, a spa experience at The Coniston Hotel, two tickets to see Katy Perry at the AO Arena courtesy of Betfred, Garden Club tickets for Ladies Day at the 2026 Randox Grand National Festival, Premier Badges for Betfair Chase Day at Haydock Park, a £250 Debenhams voucher, and a magnum of Ultimate Provence Rosé If you’re shortlisted, we’ll be in touch with you directly on the day – so keep an eye on your phone!

The fun doesn’t stop when the final race finishes. Stick around and enjoy a live DJ set after racing, bringing the party atmosphere to a perfect close.

We are delighted to have Betfred as our headline sponsor today, extending the long-standing relationship between the racecourse and Betfred. It is a privilege to welcome the team from Betfred today and I would like to wish them a very memorable day.

Looking ahead, we are very excited for the return of our sole Group One race, the Sprint Cup taking place on Saturday 6th September Tickets and Hospitality are selling fast so if you haven’t already, I would encourage you to book soon to avoid disappointment. Full details of all our fixtures are available at www.thejockeyclub.co.uk/haydock

We hope you have a wonderful day with us, and we hope to welcome you back to other racedays throughout 2025

ANNUAL MEMBERS NEWSLETTER

A very warm welcome to our Annual Members on Betfred Rose of Lancaster Stakes Day, and what a wonderful day it promises to be.

Today is Ladies Day, and it will be so nice to see our lady members adorned in their finest attire Should any of our Lady Members heels begin to throb, then a reserved seating area available for all members is available within The County Enclosure.

Following an excellent performance to whet the appetite for today from Becky Hill, The Betfred Rose of Lancaster Stakes takes centre stage today. In 2022, Anmaat was victorious in the contest and subsequently won The Prix d’Ispahan at Longchamp. Last year, he emerged victorious here again and also won the Champion Stakes at Royal Ascot Today’s renewal looks a fascinating affair.

Four-time champion trainer Major Dick Hern is also remembered today in the 2:25 race. Dick won every Classic Race at least twice, taking the St Leger a remarkable six times He also won the Sprint Cup twice, latterly with the remarkable Dayjur, a sprinter whose sight was to behold back in 1990 A trainer of such recognisable stars as Brigadier Gerard, Nashwan, Bustino, Troy and Dunfermline, he is much missed after his death twenty-three years ago.

We have an array of reciprocals for you to attend before our next meeting. Most popular is likely to be Ripon on Bank Holiday Monday on 25th August Yorkshire’s Garden Racecourse is an idyllic location on a sunny afternoon.

Next up here we have Betfair Sprint Cup Day, precluded by Thursday and Friday racing to Haydock’s only Group 1.

I am delighted to say tomorrow Annual Members are invited to a soiree in the Kauto Star Bar, with interaction on your membership experience. Please do attend from 14:30.

I look forward to seeing you all today and I wish you an enjoyable and successful days racing.

DECLARED RUNNERS 9

2024: CHOISYA 4 9 4 Harry Davies 14-1 (Simon & Ed Crisford) 9 ran Tongue Strap worn first time by No 5. Tongue Strap worn by No 1, 6. Stewards Note:

AROLLA: Following its run on 18/6/2025 it was reported that the trainer could not explain the poor run.

Probable S.P’s: 10-3 Shuwari (IRE), 9-2 Never Let Go (GB), 5-1Arolla (GB), 6-1 Protest (GB), 13-2 Suite Francaise (GB), 11-1 Queen’s Reign (GB), 12-1 Sunfall (GB), 50-1 Vicario (GB), 66-1 Rockymountainway (GB)

Roger Varian has saddled the winner of this race a couple of times in recent years and PROTEST is an appealing candidate for the yard this time round. She improved when landing a Glorious Goodwood handicap recently, demonstrating a good attitude inthe process, and she maywell have moreto offer The obvious caveat is that if Shuwari is able to reproduce something akin to her smart 2-y-o form she will prove very hard to beat, while Arolla, Never Let Go and Suite Francaise all have claims.

HAATEM benefitted from the step up to this trip when scoring at Royal Ascot in June and has backed that up with a solid third in Group 2 company since. He makes plenty of appeal. French Derby third Detain was clearly not himself last time and is feared most, whilst Newbury scorer Royal Dubai is also much respected.

Avaluable race forthe gradethat has attracted some interestingtypes.Aftera slowstart in handicaps, TROPICAL HEAT showed improved form to get off the mark at Sandown last month and she makes plenty of appeal in her bid to follow up Latynina hasn’t lived up to her pedigree but could be worth another chance having been too keen over 1m on handicap debut while Renewable Dream has some solid maiden form and may improve now handicapping.

Severalto considerinthis competitive contest, with INVINCIBLE MELODYearningthevote Though still a maiden following nine appearances, there doesn’t appearto be anythingwrong with his attitude and this step up in trip could be just what the doctor ordered. Chesneys Charm is greatly respected after getting the job done at York recently and he is second choice ahead of Perfidia. RACEHORSE & JOCKEY WELFARE

The welfare of the sport’s equine and human participants is paramount to British Horseracing. All racehorses competing in Britain are stabled at the premises of trainers who are licensed by The British Horseracing Authority The standards demanded by The BHA of licensed racehorse trainers far exceed those prescribed by animal welfare legislation The British Horseracing Authority similarly licenses every racecourse, setting high standards for the racing surface and all parts of the course used by competitors, both human and equine. BHA Officials ensure that racecourses delivers these standards In addition Haydock Park Racecourse employs a minimum of three veterinary surgeons, whose sole responsibility it is to provide care to the horses throughout their time at the racecourse In the event of an incident on the racecourse, any horse affected will receive immediate treatment from the racecourse’s veterinary team. Qualified paramedics and doctors are also on hand in the case of any incident involving a jockey If any incident occurs during a race it is routine practice for screens to be erected around the horse or jockey receiving treatment. This is to allow the veterinary or medical personnel to make a safe and accurate diagnosis and so that they may perform any treatment in a private and calm environment. If necessary, horses and riders will be transported from the course to receive further treatment at the nearest equine hospital or Accident & Emergency hospital
