However, horses officially rated in excess of 85 are also eligible to take part. The conditions of this race stipulate that the maximum weight to be carried by a horse rated 85 would be 9st 4lb, so should a horse rated 90be entered to run, they would be asked to carry 5lb more than the top weight – 9st 9lb. Weights raised 6lb.
