HH Sheikh Hamad bin Abdullah Al Thani
The eldest of six brothers, HH Sheikh Hamad is the son of HH Sheikh Abdullah, former Prime Minister of Qatar, and a cousin to the ruling Emir, HH Sheikh Tamim. Sheikh Hamad is Chief Executive of QIPCO Holding, one of the leading private investment companies in Qatar. Established in 1999, QIPCO is owned by Sheikh Hamad and his brothers and has a diverse range of interests, including real estate, construction, oil and gas, trading and services, finance and health. QIPCO is an Official Partner of Royal Ascot and its subsidiaries include the racing and bloodstock business, Qatar Racing. QIPCO’s sponsorship portfolio also includes the British Champions Series, British Champions Day, the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth QIPCO Stakes at Ascot and the Guineas Festival at Newmarket. Sheikh Hamad is a renowned collector and expert in fine art and is responsible for the establishment of The Al Thani Collection. The collection is best known for its exceptional holding of Indian and Indian-inspired gems and jewellery, however, it also includes museum-quality works from ancient times to the present-day and has been exhibited in New York, London, Kyoto, Paris, Venice and Beijing.
Mr Trevor Eve
Trevor Eve trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and has enjoyed five decades as a successful actor. He first came to prominence in the title role in Shoestring for the BBC. He then confirmed his status in the theatre by winning his first Olivier Award in 1981 for Children of a Lesser God. He has starred in many plays in the West End and at the National Theatre. His second Olivier Award in 1997 was gifted for his performance as Dr Astrov in Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya. Alongside theatre he has appeared in many television productions and films both here and the USA, including Waking the Dead, winning numerous awards. He has most recently appeared in the series A Discovery of Witches. His production company Projector Pictures has created many shows over its 25 years including Kidnap and Ransom in which Trevor starred. Currently the company is filming the second of a trilogy of books by T.M.Logan in Ireland entitled The Catch. Trevor is the founding patron of Childhope International.
Mr Louis Romanet
Louis Romanet was the Director-General of France Galop for 21 years. France Galop is the governing body for horse racing in France and runs the principal racecourses including Longchamp, which stages the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, the only raceday in Europe presenting six Group 1 races. The links between the Romanet family and French racing date back to 1907 and for the last 53 years Louis has played a major role not only with horse racing in France but also internationally through his involvement with the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities, IFHA, which he chaired from 1994 until 2021.
Mr Yanick Rossier
Yanick Rossier is International Sponsorship & Events Manager of the Swiss watch brand Longines, the proud Official Partner of Royal Ascot. He started his career at Longines in 2013 and after several years of experience in the department of international marketing, he was appointed to his current position in 2019.
