DAY 1

ARRIVE IN SINGAPORE

Touch down at Singapore’s Changi Airport, meet your local guide and get the lowdown on our exciting STEM Curriculum Adventure.

Head to your hotel and get some rest after your flight – we’ve got an actionpacked week ahead.

You’re about to take the road less travelled and experience a whole new city brimming with breakthrough technologies and design, stunning sites and a friendly and welcoming culture.

DAY 2

CITY SIGHTSEEING

Sleep: Hotel

Highlights: Art Science Museum, Gardens by the Bay, Rhapsody light show

Kick off your second day in Singapore by exploring the stunning sights of downtown from the water by traditional bumboat on a City Highlights Tour. The impressive 8.6 Merlion Statue and the iconic Marina Bay Sands skyscraper are definitely worth a photo stop.

Back on dry land, we’ll visit the ArtScience Museum, here the students will be immersed into the world of art, science and technology through a collection of digital interactive installations at Future World: Where Art Meets Science. This exhibition is in collaboration with teamLab, a renowned Japanese art collective

TRAVELLING RESPONSIBLY

Afterwards they will visit Gardens by the Bay and walk through two indoor conservatories (Cloud Forest and Flower Dome). Housed within enormous glass domes, these are the structures that tower over surrounding urban stretches. The Flower Dome has a regularly changing floral display that reflects season, festivals and themes. The Cloud Forest has a 35m indoor waterfall, the largest in the world.

After dinner, see the Singapore skyline light up in the Gardens Rhapsody Light show.

DAY 3

SINGAPORE CULTURAL CHINESE CENTRE

After breakfast, get on the public transportation, our guide will take you to the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre where visitors can discover the local Chinese culture in various forms, from arts to performances.

Visit the bustling Chinatown and explore South Bridge Road, Pagoda Street, Terengganu Street, and Sago Street, You’ll also make a stop at the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, a temple with a stunning architectural style based on the Tang Dynasty. Inside, you can find a tooth relic of the Buddha.

DAY 4

JEWEL CHAINGI AIRPORT

Highlights: Changi chapel and museum, Universal Studios (optional), Roboting and coding workshop (optional)

Head to Jewel Changi Airport – but it’s not time for your flight home yet. Instead, get ready to experience this state-of-the-art tourist destination. See amazing attractions like the Crystal Clouds, the Rain Vortex and experience the inner workings of this large international airport. Take in awesome projections experiences, immersive shows and interactive games. You’ll experience the magic of technology and walk await with a greater knowledge of aviation and how the airport works.

Time for a history lesson. Head to Changi Chapel and Museum and discover more about Singapore’s history during the Second World War. Learn about Singaporean life during the Japanese occupation, from 19421945.

In this afternoon, head to Kampong Glam. Stop at the landmark Sultan Mosque and its captivating golden dome, stopping for a while to browse the shops here selling traditional wares and exquisite fabrics. Then, head to Arab Street, home to stalls selling handmade perfumes and traditional Malay dresses. Next, head to Little India and discover this uniquely vibrant and colorful district.

You also have the option of a fun-filled trips to Universal Studios Singapore, or a robotics and coding workshop.

NATURE MEETS INNOVATION

JEWEL CHANGI AIRPORT HOUSES OVER 2,000 TREES AND 100,000 SHRUBS IN ITS INDOOR FOREST, CREATING A LUSH GREEN SANCTUARY RIGHT INSIDE THE AIRPORT.

DAY 5

LEGOLAND

Highlights: Legoland

Time to let your hair down. Today we’re off to Malaysia, for an actionpacked day at Legoland.

Spend the day exploring the theme park with its adrenalin-pumping rides spread over eight themed areas. Learn to drive, soar through the treetops and hold on tight as you ride the rapids.

At the park’s Miniland, you can discover a miniature version of Asia –built with over 30 million Lego bricks –or head to Boating School to test your navigating skills in a battery-powered boat.

DAY 6

DISCOVER THE CITY

Meals: Breakfast, dinner

Highlights: Peranakan Chinese historical program, night safari (optional)

Start the day by learning about sustainable living on a guided tour of the town of Bedok. This community walk showcases how Singaporian locals live, their recycling initiatives, use of empty spaces and reclaimed land.

In the afternoon, join a tour to learn about the Peranakan Chinese. This ethnic group has its own traditional architecture, culture and ‘nonya’ food.

After a day of roaming the resort we’ll return to Singapore and chow down dinner from a local food stall.

FIRST OF ITS KIND

WHEN IT OPENED IN 2012, LEGOLAND MALAYSIA WAS ASIA’S FIRST INTERNATIONAL THEME PARK. THE MINILAND ZONE TOOK OVER THREE YEARS TO COMPLETE!

This evening you also have the option of joining a night safari at the world’s first nocturnal wildlife park.

MOONLIT WONDERLAND

SPANNING 35 HECTARES, SINGAPORE’S NIGHT SAFARI HOUSES OVER 2,500 ANIMALS ACROSS SEVEN GEOGRAPHICAL ZONES.

DAY 7

LEARN ABOUT WATER SUSTAINABILITY & HIGH-TECH FARMING

Highlights: Koh Fah technology farm, Science Centre Singapore, Marina Barrage

After Breakfast travel to Kok Fah Technology Farm which is a local family-owned business that has been selling leafy vegetables in Singapore for the past 40 years.

The farm has introduced high-tech machinery and equipment to assist in the faming processes that bring an improved level of efficiency and productivity.

Learn how veggies are grown without soil in a process called hydroponics. Take a tour of the greenhouse, tasting different salads and discovering more about the high-tech machinery and equipment that makes the process more efficient.

In the afternoon double down on interactive learning by heading to the Science Centre Singapore.

Students will pick their own adventure here whether they want to look into Climate Change, 3D: Printing The Future, Earth Alive, Ecogarden, Kinetic Garden among a range of interactive options.

To close out an action-packed day, head to the Marina Barrage for the Sustainable Gallery visit. Sustainability has always been integral to Singapore’s development since independence, and we have been tackling challenges to ensure that everyone continues to enjoy a clean and green environment.

DAY 8

TRAVEL HOME FROM SINGAPORE

After the best 8 days of your life, it’s time to travel home. Cram everything into your bag and head to the airport.

Check-in, sit back and let it all sink in. You’ve just experienced something incredible. Singapore has opened your eyes and taught you so much more than any textbook every could. You’ve been immersed in a new and exciting culture, witnessed

incredible engineering and design, and understand now more than ever the connection between people and planet.

These experiences will shape who you are and put you on the path to becoming a true global citizen. Prepare to return home forever changed.

EDUCATIONAL OUTCOMES.

Students will develop an understanding of how personal, group and national identities are shaped, and the variable and changing nature of culture.

Students will see school subjects come to life in new and practical ways that enable the highest levels of student ownership.

Students will be challenged to be creative and think critically about topical issues that affect our past, present and futures around the world.

Students will have the opportunity to actively participate in learning outcomes directly linked to your chosen school subject.

Students will be challenged to develop a greater sense of independence, confidence and resilience throughout their overseas Curriculum Adventure.

Students will gain a greater understanding into the importance of thinking and acting for a more sustainable future, at both local and global levels.
