A Message from the President As president and CEO of Wealth Watchers Inc., I recognize the nonprofit sector continues to evolve and change in a time when the demand for services far exceeds available resources. Wealth Watchers must continue to position itself to meet the growing demand. We must also be that central focal point to building and rebuilding communities as well as strengthening the connection between social capital and economic development.

June is National Homeownership Month. This is the time of year that we can shine a spotlight on those who are committed to supporting the American dream of homeownership for everyone. Homeownership is more than the dwelling we live in. Homeownership is about creating memories, being a part of a community, building wealth for future generations and creating a legacy.

We appreciate your support as we host our annual luncheon, “Legacy: A Foundation for the Future,” to recognize real estate professionals who have gone above and beyond to help with creating homeownership opportunities.

The Wealth Watchers’ team and I are humbled for the opportunity to pause and honor those who are committed to helping others achieve their dream of homeownership. Wealth Watchers Inc. is a HUD-certified Housing Counseling and Community Development Organization formed as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) in December of 2001.

The formation of the nonprofit was a result of a series of meetings of local, financial service professionals who believed that education was the foundation for financial success as well as community and economic stability. Based in Jacksonville with services available throughout Florida and Georgia, its staff is committed to providing a cyclical approach to building wealth among citizens.

We help neighbors navigate through the homebuying process by providing homeownership education, workshops, counseling and more. We also provide foreclosure prevention counseling for homeowners who are experiencing a financial hardship that makes it difficult to meet their mortgage payment obligation.

The national spotlight on homeownership began as a weeklong recognition in 1995 as a strategy of former President Bill Clinton’s administration. It was first proclaimed to last an entire month in June 2002 under former President George W. Bush.
