YOU JUST SURVIVED (AND ARE CONTINUING TO SURVIVE) a historic pandemic which placed stress, isolation and challenges on everyone. The LSC is here to encourage you. You are not alone. Whatever you are doing, you are doing a great job! Most importantly, the LSC encourages all members to reach out to BarCARES for free mental health services. It was a traumatic year. Mental health is critical to your well-being and being a grounded attorney for your colleagues and clients. The majority of BarCARES counselors are offering virtual sessions so it is so easy to fit mental health into your schedule. It is a good time for a mental health checkup. I encourage you to make an appointment with a mental health professional to chat about this past year, and make your mental health a priority. Additionally, the LSC is brainstorming ways to support our members. WCBA member, trademark and copyright attorney, and certified yoga instructor, Emily Haas provided a free yoga class in June at the NC Museum of Art for all of our members. She did a wonderful job and we had a great turnout! To learn more about Emily, see her Direct Examination on page 10. If you have a suggestion or talent to support our membership, please reach out to us and let us know. Finally, the LSC also exists to lift each other up in times of hardship. We have a team of dedicated letter writers who love to send individualized notes of kindness and support. If you know of a colleague who could use a note, please let us know at lawyersupport@wakecountybar.org.
