Project Highlights County of San Diego Correctional System San Diego, California
The county of San Diego commissioned WC&A to master plan the laundry facilities for twenty-three of its operations. Services were performed for multiple operating arms of the County’s Correctional Department, namely: • Health Services Correctional Medical Services and University of California, San Diego Medical Center • Sheriff’s Department Nine facilities including the Las Colinas Detention Facility for Women Juvenile Services
Reefs Resort Hotel and Beach Club Southampton, Bermuda
WC&A was commissioned to design a major renovation for this famous resort’s food, beverage, and laundry facilities. Work included master planning and design for a new main kitchen, restaurant finishing kitchen, pool bar, and new laundry and housekeeping areas that were housed in a new service wing planned for the resort. A unique element of this project was the request to carefully design all exterior visual elements of the new receiving and loading (service) points adjacent to one of the main historical island roadways to ensure that no negative visuals could be seen from the roadway.
Yuma District Hospital Yuma, Colorado
WC&A was selected to design the foodservice and laundry facilities for the Yuma District Hospital. This 50-bed rural hospital will provide state-of-the-art care in the far reaches of northern Colorado. The foodservice facilities utilize cook/chill technology and provides the latest in “room service” patient dining. The foodservice facilities also include a full service café with a “made fresh” to order menu, as well as prepackage items for the “grab n’ go” customer. The laundry facilities include the latest in pass through/barrier type washing equipment to eliminate contamination possibility.
