He was born in Cleveland County, NC to the late Luther R. McSwain, Sr. and Terria McSwain. She was born in Slater, SC, daughter of the late Haorace and Edna Long Barrett. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, William Kenneth Carroll, a daughter, Cindy Carroll and by two brothers, Bobby Barrett and Don Barrett. Madge Wright Early homemaker KINGS MOUNTAIN Madge Wright Early, age 80, resident of Kings Mountain, NC went to be with the Lord peacefully on July 30, 2015 at her home. She was born in Cleveland County, NC to the late DeKossie Moore Wright and Lilly Jane Hoyle Wright. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Steven T. Early; brothers, Curtis Wright, Ray Wright and Calvin Wright; sisters, Dorothy Wright Gann, Hazel Wright Smith, and Bonnie Wright Ford. Mrs. Early was a faithful and active member of Macedonia Baptist Church, Kings Mtn. NC and a homemaker. Lyons sentenced to life in 2012 murder of Manufie

Devonne Shawmar Lyons, 22, was found guilty in Cleveland County Superior Court Thursday of murdering Frances Kwasi Munufie, 38, a Ghana native of Charlotte, in the Ebenezer community of Kings Mountain in a robbery attempt. Before the trial, Lyons had been out on bond and four other young people had already been convicted in the

2012 murder case and were serving their sentences. Lyons will be serving a life sentence in prison without parole. The two people originally charged by Cleveland County deputies were Lyons, 19 at the time, and Jessica Nicole Edwards, 18 at the time.
