Bliss Gallery presents “Brush Strokes from My Heart” Denise Price Thomas is well known in Gaston County. The certified healthcare administrator, national speaker, consultant and edu-tainer is now adding professional artist to her resume. Bliss Gallery is thrilled to present Thomas’ “Brush Strokes from My Heart” just in time for the holidays. “During the pandemic, or ‘time-out 2020’ as I called it, I was so lost. Normally, I would be juggling multiple events and training sessions. When all of that came to a screeching halt, I felt alone and with-

out a purpose,” said Thomas. Thomas says that’s when she picked up some leftover paint and a canvas and went to work. “As the tears fell on the canvas, the paint seemed to splatter into pretty shapes,” said Thomas. “When I looked down, I saw a heart. My tears had formed a heart on the canvas. To me, that was my sign. I collected all of the paints, brushes and everything I could find to paint on and I couldn’t stop. Soon I realized whatever was in my heart was coming to life on the canvas.”

The Mount Holly Community Garden will be holding its 6th Annual Christmas Enchantment in the Garden on Friday 12/10 from 5:00pm-9:00pm. This free, family-friendly event for all in the community has grown each year and is often called the “McAdenville of Gardens”. Located at 126 N. Main Street in Mount Holly, the Mount Holly Community Garden has quickly become a popular destination in the city, housing 52 organic garden beds each

leased and attended to yearly by garden members. Over the past 7 years, the Mount Holly Community has supplied the Mount Holly CRO with thousands of pounds of fresh produce, and implemented several free community wellness programs, such as, gardening classes, wellness cooking demonstrations, yoga in the garden and unique art projects. This year’s Christmas Enchantment in the Garden is sure to be one to remem-

ber. Each of the 52 garden beds will be decorated differently by garden members, along with hundreds of glowing luminaries lighting your way. Local businesses and artists will also be taking part this year by decorating designated areas around the garden. Several lanterns from the recent Mount Holly Lantern Parade will also be on display. Stroll through the garden while listening to festive holiday music. Be sure to bring your camera to capture the magic.
