Member Geek New 7750 PD is running very fast!!!

Just received my 7750 PD, and it is gaining over 30 seconds every five minutes!! That's 3 minutes every hour!

This is way out of line. How accurate should this be? Do they mellow after a period of time? I have a silver tone and do not want to return it, but a watchmaker tune-up seems ridiculous for a band new watch!

Any ideas on the cost for a tune up vs. a return vs. a warranty repair?

Your suggestions?

Are any of you having accuracy problems?

Most likely, a good watch maker would recommend you return it or send it in for warranty work.

My recommendation is to return it. It not worth it to send it back to Invicta for a 6-8 week wait for warranty work.

The cost for a "tune up" could be anything from $25 for a basic adjustment to hundreds for an overhaul.

But, why pay that type of money for a potentailly damaged movement?

Save yourself the headache and send it back for a refund or an exchange. __________________

I just wish it was within 15 seconds.... and not 2 hours per day.

I'm not a fan of the gold versions, and I really love the watch.

I think I will check with a watchmaker. They will be quicker, probably less frustrating, and may not be much more expensive.

The main question I would have for watchmaker - is this a reasonable amount of variance to tune, or is there potentially a bigger problem.

UGH, sorry your having such issues with the PD. Maybe it needs to be calibrated by a watchmaker, I really don't know what exactly causes autos to run fast. Myself, I would send it back, no way I would pay $700 for a new watch and then have to get it serviced. There's lots of golds left so you shouldn't have a problem getting a new one. I feel lucky my silvertone is right on since they're just about gone.

I feel many of the auto watch issues is due to shipping, the way these boxes get tossed around by UPS and terrible packing by SNBC. For instance, the shipping box from my PD was all crushed and when I opened the boxed it the watch was sitting almost upside down. I feel lucky something wasn't thown out of alignment. You'd think they would pack expensive automatic watches better however they go out just like a cheap $50 watch.

that really stinks,i know that you love the version you got and there isn't anymore right?700 is a lot of money to spend to have to get it fixed right away,maybe mehdi will chime in or send him a pm or go to the watchmakers bench forum,he will let you know if it is a ez fix or not,good luck

Based on how fast it is running, I'm betting it somehow got magnetized somewhere along the way. First thing I would do is have it degaussed and see if it gets any more accurate before having anyone open it up. If degaussing doesn't help, then I'd definitely send it back for a refund. I had a problem with my LE Lupah meteorite dail & it was running faster than yours yes!

But after about 5-7 days it seemed to have broken in if you may & keeps excellent time now, so maybe yours will do the same?

If not, I agree go to a local watch maker & he can calibrate it for you, alot quicker than CS. __________________

I had an SW200 that was running +30min/day. I couldn't regulate it to run any better.

I kept in on the winder, on and off for ~ 4 months. Slowly, it started keeping better and better time. I've currently got it running to better than +8s/day.

With the kind of movement error you're seeing, it could be many things. If you are set on keeping the watch, you might just keep wearing it for a while (or toss it on the winder) and consider letting Invicta pick up the repair costs.

The shipping and standard $28 fee won't likely be much more than the minimum cost to have a competent watchmaker take a poke at it and you'll maintain your warranty.

FWIW, my 7750 PD is currently running +/-3s/day out of the box. I haven't taken it off, except to shower, since receiving it.

I am with you on this, BUT...

- love the watch, the price and the VPs - all of which are hard to duplicate - and am hoping for a solution that is comparable to the two-way shipping costs wasted on a return (over $30 will have been wasted).

I do appreciate your perspective and it would normally be my view also. Obviously my logic has been

It could be magnetized

It's very possible that your watch could have become magnetized. This is a very simple and very quick fix for most any watchmaker and some don't even charge for it.

I would have that checked first before you do anything else as there is no down side to it.

I agree, ask Mehdi.

You say you want to keep it, and you can't get a replacement, so if Mehdi says it's an easy fix, take it to a good watchmaker and have him adjust it. He'll probably be able to do it for less than Invicta's warranty shipping charge, and there's less chance of getting it back jacked up. __________________

Here here Rich, this has got to stop and 6 to 8 weeks for service that is if your lucky.

And I don't by the shipping excuse you don't see these issues with auto's from Android, Renato, Swiss Legend etc.

Botton line is; lets say you get it fixed and down the line somthing else goes wrong with the movement. Now the warranty is most likely void and you either send more money on it or now you've got a $700 paper wieght; no I would send it back. __________________
